The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

The steamed fish on the stove was ready.

Fu Yu swiftly plated the dish.

The server came over and, seeing the boss, hurriedly greeted him.

Dong Jun Tian nodded with a smile.

The others in the kitchen had already noticed their group.

But seeing Yao Shi with them, along with a stranger beside him, presumably brought over to tour the kitchen, everyone pretended not to see them.

However, the speed of their hands became even quicker.

Fu Yu also noticed them.

Earlier, Yao Shi had mentioned having something to attend to, presumably this was it.

Anyway, it had nothing to do with him, especially with the boss present, so Fu Yu focused on his work with undivided attention.

The server took the plated dish away.

Fu Yu then started cooking spicy crayfish.

Heated the oil.

Stir-fried the chili, Sichuan pepper, scallions, ginger, and garlic until aromatic.

Added the crayfish and began to stir-fry.

From beginning to end, Fu Yu didn’t use a spatula, relying solely on flipping the wok to evenly stir-fry the crayfish.

Watching them bounce from the wok, like a deep red canvas, completing a smooth spin in the air before landing.

The entire process was so perfect, it seemed less like cooking and more like a personal stunt performance on stage.

It’s said insiders see the details, outsiders see the fun.

Yang Zhifang was utterly amazed.

Can flipping the wok be done so beautifully?

He instinctively glanced at the two chefs also flipping woks nearby.

The older one moved smoothly, but his speed was way too slow!

As for the younger one, his dish flipping seemed like scattering blossoms; though none fell out of the wok, it wasn’t impressive to watch!

No comparison, no harm.

Yang Zhifang quickly looked back at the young chef in front of him.

By then, Fu Yu had already started plating the crayfish.

As he was placing the third crayfish, Fu Yu suddenly turned his head and reminded, ”Time’s up in five minutes!”

Sun Qingning was busy preparing ingredients and instinctively glanced at the clock on the wall upon hearing this.

Yao Shi and the two others nearby also looked over.

They saw the time on the digital clock had indeed just passed five minutes.

Unbelievable!

Is he a human timer?

Clearly, he hadn’t glanced at the time on the wall since the start.

After instinctively reminding everyone, Fu Yu paused!

Just moments ago, he suddenly felt that the crab soup pot was ready, so strong was the urge that he thought of turning off the heat and removing the pot immediately.

How could this be?

His control over the heat today was unbelievable!

A flash of inspiration passed through his mind... Fu Yu had an epiphany!

The cooking artisan skill he had just acquired!

This must be the benefit of the cooking artisan skill, instilling cooking techniques into his body through an interaction between hand and mind, deriving the ought-to-be from the perceived reality.

When he read that sentence, he felt that despite not fully understanding it, it felt profound!

Now, through practical application, he finally understood.

Embedding cooking techniques into one’s body is truly high-level!

Before, he was too focused on working to notice.

Now that he’s noticed, Fu Yu felt his senses become incredibly sharp.

For instance, when Sun Qingning moved too slowly, he could clearly perceive it.

Fu Yu’s thoughts remain unseen by others.

So, Yao Shi and the two others merely raised their eyebrows in slight surprise, then moved on from the minor incident.

Sun Qingning placed the clay pot on the kitchen counter.

Fu Yu selected a few coriander leaves to garnish it.

The large clay pot was filled to the brim, with thick, golden satay broth and bright red crab, enveloped in a rich spicy satay flavor, looked grand.

As the server passed by Yao Shi and the others with the tray, the rich aroma, along with the steam, hit them, making their mouths water at the scent alone!

With the main dish done, they added two stir-fries and a cold dish, allowing them to pause and make time for the next order.

The biggest test of a chef’s skill in stir-fries is the control of heat.

However, under Fu Yu’s advanced personal skill in heat control, it became child’s play.

Fu Yu continuously held the spatula for over an hour.

Yao Shi and the others unknowingly stood by for more than an hour.

Yao Shi watched Fu Yu’s operation with appreciation on his face!

Dong Jun Tian, while watching the clock on the wall and calculating Fu Yu’s dish-serving speed, looked satisfied!

Yang Zhifang smacked his lips while observing the plated dishes.

He hadn’t expected that by swapping in a handsome young man for the cooking, the work could become so pleasing to the eye.

As a big boss who’s usually seated in an office all day, when was the last time he stood straight for over an hour?

He was so engrossed earlier that he hadn’t noticed, but now he realized his legs had gotten a bit numb.

And the most crucial point... he was craving it!

The dishes just now all looked so impressive in color, aroma, and flavor!

Yao Shi looked at Fu Yu with satisfaction.

To be honest, aside from the last stir-fry and cold dishes, the previous crab soup pot was quite challenging to make.

Regardless of the seasoning ratio, heat control, or the slicing and plating of ingredients, it all tested the chef’s skills.

This particular dish especially demanded strict requirements on the ratio of additional ingredients.

As for the size of the crabs, it relied entirely on the chef estimating by feel, and without ample experience, accurate judgment was difficult.

Yet when Fu Yu received the crabs, the distinct way he weighed them, plus his gestures while measuring ingredients, made it clear he was aware of this.

As for the accuracy of proportion control, due to the distance, it was hard to judge.

But overall, Fu Yu’s performance was quite commendable!

Yao Shi turned to Dong Jun Tian, leaned in, and asked, ”Boss, what do you think? Feel reassured now?”

Dong Jun Tian was no longer worried—Fu Yu’s cooking methods were exceptionally practiced.

Dong Jun Tian completely eased his mind, nodded with a smile, and turned to ask Yang Zhifang, ”Old Yang, what do you think? Isn’t Chef Fu’s cooking comparable to Old Zhao from my place?”

Yang Zhifang was quite pleased with Fu Yu. Even though he didn’t really understand cooking, merely looking at Fu Yu’s smooth and skilled moves, he could tell that Chef Fu, despite his young age, had excellent culinary skills.

Especially after realizing that the older chef was of the same level as Zhao Meng, Gu Yunwu—it made him find this young Chef Fu exceptionally reliable!

”Not bad, not bad! Please let this Chef Fu come over to my place to help with the family banquet! Truly worthy of being Chef Zhao’s apprentice; a direct disciple indeed stands out! Old Dong! I found that your kitchen is truly full of hidden talents! With Yao Shi in command and Chef Zhao and his apprentice guarding, your restaurant is bound to soon solidify its position as our province’s top veteran establishment!”

Yang Zhifang’s words were slightly exaggerated, but there was some truth in them.

Just observing today’s young Chef Fu’s culinary skills showed how exceptional he was.

As the mentor of such an outstanding talent, Chef Zhao was undoubtedly even more impressive.

Especially with a top chef like Yao Shi helping manage the kitchen.

Thinking of this, Yang Zhifang couldn’t help but look at Dong Jun Tian with envy.

Having noble support makes it hard not to achieve great success!
