The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 348: Chapter 215: This Is the Truth

As soon as the words fell, Jiang An placed the square ink cartridge and the fingerprint card on the small table in front of Liu Tie.

Then, he extended his right thumb and pressed it onto the white fingerprint card, saying, ”See, it hasn’t left any trace of mine.”

The next second, he pressed his thumb into the black ink cartridge, then moved his finger and pressed his thumb onto the fingerprint card.

Instantly, a clear thumbprint appeared on the fingerprint card.

Jiang An said in a deep voice, ”How is it? As long as my finger is stained with black carbon dust, it will leave an imprint on this fingerprint card.”

”Now, you should realize that on that night, with carbon dust on your finger, you would leave marks on the key.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Liu Tie’s eyes widened, staring intently at Jiang An, his face full of terror.

Seeing Jiang An’s maneuver, Li Jian, who was sitting next to him, was quite astonished.

He looked at Jiang An seriously, his mouth slightly open.

Li Jian was quickly thinking through the entire investigation process in his mind; he was probably more familiar with the case than Jiang An was.

But why did Jiang An think there would be a fingerprint on the key?

Wasn’t this key sent to Jiangcheng Medical University’s forensic center for analysis?

Just a moment ago during the meeting, it was only mentioned that carbon film particles were found on the key; how could there be fingerprints?

Li Jian turned to look at Jiang An, trying to decipher the truth from his expression.

Unfortunately, after scanning Jiang An’s face twice, he didn’t detect any signs of lying.

Could it be true that there would be fingerprint traces of carbon dust on the key?

At this moment, Jiang An was holding that ink cartridge and a fingerprint card.

Seeing the questioning expression on Liu Tie’s face, Jiang An said solemnly, ”You’ve seen the experiment at the scene. If you don’t believe it, you can press your hand onto the fingerprint card to see if I am speaking the truth.”

”Moreover, I must tell you, the ink in this cartridge is also carbon-based, similar to charcoal composition.”

Then Jiang An turned to look at Li Jian and said, ”Earlier, our Mr. Li kept counseling you; he was actually trying to help you, wanting you to confess your crimes honestly. We also hope to lend you a last helping hand before you end up in prison.”

He sighed and said, ”Honestly speaking, you and I are roughly the same age.”

”Technically, you are a year older than me, but we are considered peers.”

”We do things impulsively and pay the price for our impulses.”

”But when we calm down, we still need to minimize the harm.”

At this moment, Liu Tie raised his head, looking at Jiang An with a bewildered expression, his previous hostility gone.

Jiang An continued, ”Of course, you can choose to say nothing.”

”But if you say nothing, you’ll lose the opportunity to confess.”

”However, even if you say nothing, with your fingerprint on the key and all the indirect evidence Mr. Li mentioned earlier, I believe the judge will still be convinced of your guilt in the murder case.”

Immediately, Liu Tie bowed his head in silence.

The room instantly quieted down.

Jiang An picked up the fingerprint card and black ink cartridge and returned to the interrogation chair.

Five minutes later, Liu Tie slightly raised his head and said, ”I admit it was indeed me who committed the murder.”

In a flash, Li Jian was stunned.

However, he had just carefully observed Jiang An’s eyes, and at the moment their gazes met, Jiang An blinked.

He instantly knew that Jiang An had used deceit, and it had surprisingly worked.

Making the false seem more real than the true.

The experiment at the scene was enough to prove it was authentic.

Li Jian’s mouth twitched.

Had it not been in the interrogation room, he would have laughed out loud.

But now, he must maintain authority because the suspect’s statement hasn’t been completely secured.

Li Jian spoke, ”You speak, I record.”

”If your attitude is good, we will actively petition the court to apply for a reduced sentence for you.”

”Life’s path is still long; maybe this was just a minor episode in life.”

After a brief silence, Liu Tie said, ”Indeed, that night, I used a key to open the door to Liang Yan and Yang Guang’s home.”

”When did you acquire the key to their home?”

Liu Tie answered, ”While we were dining at a restaurant.”

”At that time, I deliberately had Yang Guang drink lots of alcohol.”

”When he went to the restroom, I followed him, and while assisting him, I took his keys from his pocket.”

”How did you execute the murder?”

Liu Tie answered, ”By using charcoal.”

”I didn’t want to expose myself; the gas produced by charcoal can cause death, and in a relatively sealed bedroom, it can kill invisibly.”

”Please recall the scene when you entered the bedroom after opening the door that night.”

Liu Tie replied, ”That night, Yang Guang was quite drunk, and Liang Yan had drunk some as well.”

”Li Yong and I helped them home.”

”After we got them home, Li Yong and I left through the front door. As we exited, I specifically glanced at the entryway surveillance.”

”After leaving Talent Apartments, I first hailed a taxi for Li Yong, telling him to go ahead because we lived in opposite directions.”

”What happened next?”

”I didn’t return to my place; instead, I quickly walked to a nearby large chain supermarket.”
