The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 315: Chapter 199: The Last Kilometer

After a long while, Zhang Yan lifted his head.

He stared directly at Jiang An.

”What? Do you have evidence?”

”Don’t try to intimidate me with those baseless charges.”

”Otherwise, I’ll definitely file a complaint against you once I leave!”

Jiang An’s mouth twitched.

He pointed at the back of Zhang Yan’s hand, ”In fact, this is very good evidence.”

”Officer, you’re not joking, are you?”

”I don’t even remember when I got hurt, are you sure?”

After a long while, Jiang An said, ”I am sure!”

”Interactions between objects are mutual.”

”Since your injury was formed on the ground.”

”Then it’s certain that traces of your blood and skin would be left at the point of impact.”

Zhang Yan feigned calmness and spread her hands.

”What are you saying?”

”I don’t understand a single thing.”

Jiang An laughed and said, ”Whether you understand or not doesn’t matter.”

”But, I want to tell you that if you confess now, it can still count as being honest.”

”When we find the blood traces, you’ll have no chance to confess!”

Jiang An’s tone sounded very grave, with no hint of joking.

At this moment.

Outside the interrogation room, at the one-way glass, Zhang Feng understood within his heart.

Earlier, he paid attention to the entire interrogation process, especially to this woman’s subtle movements and expressions.

It was already clear she was the murderer.

She was just making her last struggle.

Five minutes later, Jiang An and Mr. He walked out.

Just as they exited the interrogation room, Mr. Zhang, the Commander, also approached.

Mr. He spoke softly, ”Commander, merely based on the skin injury on her hand, I think it might still be insufficient for litigation evidence.”

Zhang Feng nodded.

”Based on my many years of interrogation and litigation experience, I believe hand injuries are not unique.”

”She could completely argue it was caused by her own fall.”

”Even a fracture in the elbow could be claimed to be from a motorcycle accident.”

Everyone’s faces were again clouded over.

After a moment, Jiang An said, ”Commander Zhang, I think the solution lies at the source of evidence, let’s go investigate.”

”Where?”

”Do you mean the first scene of the fall?”

Instantly, Mr. He asked curiously.

Jiang An shook his head.

”That place no longer has any evidential value.”

”So where do you want to inspect the scene?”

Jiang An answered, ”I want to inspect the gravel ground on the first floor.”

”Inspect the gravel ground?”

”Aren’t the skid marks there already confirmed?”

Jiang An said, ”Earlier in the interrogation room, I mentioned interactions between objects are mutual.”

”Since that piece of gravel caused the skin injury on the back of the hand, it’s highly possible it retains traces of her blood.”

Instantly, everyone thought of the gravel ground on the first floor.

”Do you mean searching for blood traces in the sand?”

Mr. He asked, somewhat surprised.

That sand pit has at least tens of thousands of grains; searching for blood traces there is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Jiang An pondered for a moment.

”This is the only method I can think of right now.”

”Although this method is somewhat clumsy, I believe it can lead us to our end goal.”

Mr. Zhang, the Commander, thought for a moment.

He nodded and looked at Jiang An.

”He’s very touched by Jiang An’s dedication to solving the case.”

Then he asked, ”Brother Jiang An, I also agree with your method.”

”But, can you be certain there are blood traces on the sand?”

”From our everyday knowledge, if our skin is only slightly broken, there might be a small amount of bleeding.”

”But it might not necessarily leave a lot of blood traces.”

Jiang An replied, ”You’re quite right.”

”On smooth surfaces, impacts might not leave obvious blood traces.”

”However, on rough surfaces, like gravel or roads, the process of scraping the skin would leave numerous blood traces.”

”Moreover, in my view, the smaller the grain, the greater the force of impact.”

”According to the pressure law in physics, the stronger the local skin pressure, the easier it is to bleed.”

”Hence, considering the process of the fall, I believe the characteristics of the contact surface and the pressure at the moment of hitting the ground can fully explain the impact. The force at the joint of his hand is extremely strong.”

Zhang Feng nodded.

”However, after such a long time, even if there’s blood on the sand, would it still remain?”

Jiang An turned his head and glanced at the interrogation room.

”With the passage of time, the blood traces will gradually fade or even disappear.”

”Honestly, I’m not sure!”

”This time, I want to gamble on luck.”

Zhang Feng, his eyes resolute, said in a deep voice, ”In a narrow fight, the brave emerge victorious.”

”I’ve always believed that evil does not triumph over good!”

”If we can find blood traces on the sand, even if she says nothing, we can send her to court!”

”Let’s go!”

”Let’s go inspect the scene together.”

Then, he turned and said, ”Mr. He, arrange for the technical department to prepare vessels for extracting the gravel and related tools promptly.”

Mr. He said, ”I’ll get ready right away.”

”Do we need to extract all the sand?”

Jiang An answered, ”We don’t need to extract every grain of sand for examination.”

”Oh?”

”Do you have a better method?”

”Yes!”

”The rapid development of technology has also improved the efficiency of finding blood traces.”

”We can spray ’Blue Heart Reagent’ to reveal blood traces.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Mr. He asked, ”Didn’t we use Luminol to detect blood in the past?”

”Mr. He, the sensitivity of that blood reagent is insufficient, and it does not clearly show blood traces on the gravel.”
