The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 340: Chapter 211: Who Are the Suitors?

”I was in a hurry to go to the bathroom. Afterwards, I just wanted to get home quickly, so I didn’t pay much attention to the things on the shoe cabinet.”

Li Jian continued to ask, ”When did you find out the two of them had died?”

Liu Tie sighed, showing a hint of regret on his face.

”I didn’t notice at first. Later, colleagues were discussing it, and I heard they had passed away.”

”I was really shocked at the time, couldn’t believe it at all. They were both so nice, how could they suddenly just... ”

”Do you work in the same office as Liang Yan?”

Liu Tie shook his head and replied, ”No, she’s in office 201 and I’m in office 203.”

”But we usually have some work interactions, and since we also have a good relationship outside of work, we’re quite familiar with each other.”

After asking these questions, Li Jian turned to look at Jiang An, his gaze inquisitive, asking, ”Jiang An, do you have anything else to ask?”

Jiang An put down the pen in his hand, looked up at Liu Tie, his gaze deep and calm, and asked, ”Do you have any opinions on the deaths of Liang Yan and Yang Guang?”

As soon as the words fell, Liu Tie’s body stiffened slightly, his eyes flashed with a trace of panic, but quickly returned to normal.

He paused slightly, then asked, ”Didn’t they die from alcohol poisoning?”

Li Jian shook his head, his expression serious, saying in a heavy tone, ”At present, the cause of death was not alcohol poisoning, but something else.”

”What cause?” Liu Tie asked eagerly, leaning forward subconsciously.

Li Jian steered the topic back, his tone serious and firm, ”This is case investigation confidential, can’t be disclosed temporarily. Hope you understand.”

Liu Tie gave a bitter smile, the corner of his mouth twitching slightly, and said helplessly, ”I understand. I’m just too shocked, want to know what exactly happened. They usually don’t have enemies, how could something like this happen.”

Jiang An continued to press, ”Liu Tie, you haven’t answered my question just now.”

”Oh, sorry! What did you ask me earlier?”

Liu Tie looked at Jiang An somewhat dazed, showing an embarrassed expression on his face.

Jiang An repeated, ”What do you think about the deaths of Yang Guang and Liang Yan?”

Liu Tie shook his head and said, ”The night before, I drove them home, they were still normal, chatting and laughing.”

”I really don’t understand why something like this happened overnight, can’t figure out how two perfectly fine people just... ”

Jiang An nodded and then asked, ”Recently, have you all been planning to hold an outdoor barbecue?”

Liu Tie nodded repeatedly, with a reminiscent expression on his face, saying, ”Yes, we were originally planning for everyone to go to an outdoor barbecue together, everyone had been looking forward to it for a long time.”

”Yang Guang and Liang Yan had been preparing days in advance, even asking each of us what we liked to eat.”

”Who organized this barbecue event?” Jiang An asked.

Liu Tie replied, ”Yang Guang suggested organizing it, he prepared the racks, coal, barbecue trays, and other equipment.”

”The food was managed by Liang Yan and Yang Guang, they were particularly attentive, always discussing what delicious items to prepare, saying they wanted to offer everyone a memorable weekend.”

Jiang An nodded slightly, then turned to Li Jian and said, ”I’m done asking.”

Li Jian looked at Liu Tie, his mind working rapidly, carefully sorting through each piece of information just gathered.

In the end, he found nothing else needed to be asked, so he stood up, his expression serious and said, ”We will detain you for 24 hours! Please calm down inside, don’t have any confrontational feelings.”

”We’re doing this to solve the case as soon as possible and give justice to the deceased.”

Liu Tie nodded, with a helpless expression on his face, said, ”I understand. Please investigate quickly to find out who harmed them.”

Li Jian nodded, his tone slightly softened, ”Of course, please think carefully if there’s anything else you need to report to us.”

Liu Tie replied, ”If I remember anything, I will surely tell you immediately.”

”I also hope the murderer can be caught soon, let them rest in peace. They were my good friends, I don’t want them to go like this without clarity.”

Li Jian nodded, and then walked out of the interrogation room with Jiang An.

Meanwhile, in the commercial street of Jiangcheng North District, Mr. Fu was leading a team investigating the source of the charcoal.

They arrived at the entrance of a shop named ”Ideal Grocery Store.”

Mr. Fu adjusted his police uniform, wore a polite smile on his face, and said, ”Ma’am, hello, we are police officers from the criminal investigation team, currently investigating a case, and require some information from you.”

Saying that, he showed his credentials.

The middle-aged woman glanced at the credentials, a hint of curiosity flashed in her eyes, nodded and said, ”What do you need to know?”

Mr. Fu looked down at the ground, pointing to the neatly arranged charcoal inside the store and asked, ”Do you sell charcoal all year round here?”

The woman enthusiastically answered, ”Yes, we sell charcoal all year round.”

”People living nearby, some like to barbecue, and some use it for heating in winter, so there’s always a demand. Moreover, our charcoal is of good quality and reasonably priced, so we have many regular customers.”

Mr. Fu squatted down, picked up a piece of charcoal, examined it carefully, as if trying to find clues to the case from this small piece of charcoal, and asked, ”Now, what do many people buy charcoal for?”

The woman laughed and said, ”Some people buy charcoal for barbecue, it’s very pleasant to have a barbecue when going out to play with family or friends on the weekend.”

”Some people buy it for heating in winter, although there’s central heating now, some still like the feeling of using charcoal for warmth;”
