Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

She took He Yue to the mall and bought a lot of things, clothes, shoes, school supplies, etc., and got everything ready.

After lunch, An Hao took He Yue on a bus to her soon-to-be school. Now is a critical time, as she will take the college entrance exam next year, and studies can’t be delayed no matter what.

The enrollment procedures weren’t easy to handle and required a lot of time and effort, but An Hao had already spoken with the school leadership to let He Yue attend classes, and other matters could be handled later.

By the time everything was done, it was already dusk.

The two dragged their tired bodies back home, and as soon as they entered, they heard cheerful laughter from a girl upstairs.

An Hao was puzzled and called upstairs, ”Guangguang, is that you back?”

As soon as she finished speaking, a lively and beautiful girl came down from upstairs, she greeted An Hao generously, ”Hello Auntie, I’m Zhan Xiche, a classmate of Ning Chenguang. You can call me Xiche or Xiaoxi.”

”Hello Xiaoxi! I’ve often heard Chenguang mention you! She says your grades are excellent, and you are practically perfect in anatomy classes!” An Hao smiled and praised the young girl.

She had seen Zhan Xiche before and remembered her quite well.

”Really? Chenguang is actually the top student in our class, no, should be the whole school! Plus, he’s quite handsome; he’s the undisputed school idol!” Zhan Xiche didn’t hide her admiration for Ning Chenguang, her eyes sparkling brightly.

While An Hao and Zhan Xiche were exchanging greetings, He Yueyue carefully observed this girl. The girl’s appearance gradually overlapped with the girl in the photo on Ning Chenguang’s desk.

She was the girl in the photo with Ning Chenguang!!

And she looked much more attractive in person than in the photo!

He Yueyue felt a bit sour inside, her young brother now had his own new world and different classmates.

She was no longer her young brother’s only one.

He Yueyue was already suffering from the pain of losing her family and couldn’t get over it; now thinking of this made her even sadder.

It was only after An Hao and Zhan Xiche had talked for two minutes that Ning Chenguang leisurely came down from upstairs. He had changed from the military uniform he usually wore at school into a white T-shirt and jeans, looking more handsome and carefree.

He Yueyue heard footsteps, looked up at Ning Chenguang, and his gaze happened to meet hers, their eyes meeting in the air.

”Young brother,” she called softly.

”Mm,” Ning Chenguang nodded, ”You’re back? How did the school contact go today?”

”It’s all set. I will start school tomorrow.” He Yueyue saw Ning Chenguang continually looking at her, which diminished much of the feeling of loss inside her.

”That’s good.”

It was then that Zhan Xiche noticed the young girl who had been standing beside An Hao. She dressed simply and modestly, like Cinderella, but her appearance was pretty, especially her bright dark eyes, reminiscent of the shining stars in the summer night’s sky.

”Is this... Chenguang?” Zhan Xiche tilted her head to look at Ning Chenguang, who was standing beside her.
