Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

An Hao shook her head repeatedly; she was too far away from Guangguang, unable to monitor his movements.

If the child had something going on and didn’t tell her, she simply wouldn’t even think of it.

”This needs to be asked slowly, don’t rush it!” Having helped Yan Huan with psychological issues, Ji Chuan had learned some things from Jason.

”After your wedding, I must send him back to He Family Manor. He still can’t bear the sound of car horns, even though the child is trying hard to control and conceal it. But I know clearly his heart must be restless.” At that time, Ning Chenguang often remained silent.

So, An Hao is still confused now, not knowing what exactly is oppressing the child.

Is it simply because something happened at He Family Manor, or is it because the illness has worsened again? Or could it be a combination of both.

An Hao is very troubled.

Most of her days after marrying Qin Jian have been happy; the only heartache is Ning Chenguang’s illness.

It’s like a mountain pressing down on her.

Whenever night falls and everything is quiet, she often secretly misses her son in the distant place; she really wants her son to return, but it’s not up to her to decide.

Whether her son comes home or not entirely depends on the child’s condition.

”You can ask the people of He Family to keep an eye on the child’s movements. If there’s any anomaly, contact you immediately,” Ji Chuan suggested.

”I guess that’s all we can do.” An Hao nodded dismally.

The next day was Ji Chuan and Yan Huan’s wedding.

Initially, their plan was simple, perhaps not even to hold a wedding, maybe just travel and see the mountains and rivers of the motherland like foreigners do.

That was Yan Huan’s initial dream.

But now it seems unlikely to realize it.

She inevitably walked into this cliché, mainly because both families’ parents would not allow their marriage to be so hasty.

These days, if you don’t send an invitation or hold a banquet, it’s like you never got married, and wherever you go, people might consider you illegally cohabiting.

If Yan Ye’s wedding was lively, Yan Huan’s wedding was extraordinarily lively.

The reason is nothing else but that Yan Huan, the old maiden, is finally getting married. The leaders in the troops specially approved leave, allowing comrades to attend Yan Huan’s wedding feast.

Moreover, since Yan Luquan is a retired senior officer of the military district, many old comrades and old subordinates came, even Ning Yibin and Zhang Yun, who had been in the nursing home, made it back.

As for Ji Chuan, no need to say, almost everyone who knew him from the entire hospital showed up.

This wedding was extraordinarily grand and spectacular; so many people filled the restaurant, eagerly awaiting the appearance of the newlyweds.

And the military district compound was very lively as well.

Yan Family, second floor.

Yan Huan wore a pure white wedding dress, sitting before the mirror shyly smiling at her adorned reflection.

”Honestly, I never thought I could wear a wedding dress for my marriage... I always thought my wedding would be in the barracks, marrying in military uniform with a red flower.”

”So, how do you feel? Wearing military uniform every day, suddenly changing clothes, do you hardly recognize yourself?” An Hao, smiling, gently pinned her fallen strands of hair behind her ear.

”Hmm, I’ve never felt I looked this good,” Yan Huan’s eyes reddened and moistened, ”And I never thought I would find my lifelong happiness.”
