Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

At this moment, he was standing amidst a scene of ruins, using his hands to save people from the cracks between stones and debris.

The scorching sun was baking the earth, and his clothes were soaked through, tightly clinging to his strong body. Beneath his military hat, sweat continuously rolled down from his honey-colored skin, hitting the ground and shattering into eight pieces.

Suddenly, the rescue dog started barking furiously.

His comrades shouted at him, ”Chenyang, hurry, hurry! There’s someone here! There are signs of life! Come and help!”

Ning Chenyang rushed over, hearing the sound of intermittent crying issuing from beneath a collapsed building, ”Help... Help me!”

”Miss, don’t panic! We’re here to save you, hold on!” Ning Chenyang shouted to her in a deep, rich voice, and together with his comrades, he worked wholeheartedly to pull away the stones and rescue people.

Four hours later, they cleared a space within the collapsed building.

They went deep inside and carried out the buried people one by one.

After transferring the affected civilians to level ground, they realized that the girl they had rescued was already in shock due to dehydration, and the other man and woman were the girl’s parents.

During the earthquake, in order to ensure their daughter’s safety, the two of them used their bodies to create a life-saving green space for her, ensuring her safety.

When they rescued the girl, her father was in a semi-kneeling position, having been bearing the fallen roof beam on his back, while her mother held her daughter tightly.

The comrades exerted great effort to separate them.

Watching that scene, everyone’s eyes turned red, fatherly love like a mountain, motherly love boundless, not a lie.

”Here! Quickly give me some water, let this girl drink,” Ning Chenyang asked his comrade for the water bottle he carried, and gently poured a stream of clear water into the girl’s mouth.

Soon, the girl slowly opened her eyes.

Her blood-shot eyes looked intently at him for a long time, her eyes reddened, and suddenly she sat up, tightly hugging Ning Chenyang, letting out a sorrowful cry, ”Big brother!”

Ning Chenyang was taken aback by the shout.

The comrades present were also stunned.

This man was handsome, that was his mark of attention wherever he went.

Even in the tragic disaster scene, there was a young girl throwing herself into his arms, loudly calling him big brother!

Isn’t this a romantic brother?

”Miss... you just woke up, it’s not good to be too emotional! You should lie down and rest quietly...” Ning Chenyang’s facial muscles twitched a few times, and his firm, handsome face revealed a somewhat embarrassed smile.

He had known since young that he was blessed with good looks!

His father Qin Jian’s genes were inherently strong, combined with his mother An Hao’s genes, giving birth to him and his brother Ning Chenguang handsome and perfect. As they grew older, their looks became increasingly outstanding, hard to find one or two paralleled in the entire army.

”Big brother, I am He Yueyue! Dad and Mom died to protect me...” He Yue finished speaking and began crying bitterly, burying her head deeply in Ning Chenyang’s chest, crying until nearly passing out.

It was only then Ning Chenyang realized, the girl with a dusty face seeming somewhat familiar was actually He Yueyue! The two people who died in the earthquake turned out to be the ones who had cared for Ning Chenguang for a year—Uncle He and Aunt Liang.

He hadn’t seen He Yue for over ten years; she had grown into a young lady!

He knew He Yue was mistaking him for someone else, but at this moment, he didn’t want to shatter He Yue’s small hint of happiness. He raised his slightly calloused big hand to gently pat her back and comfort her, ”You’re not alone in this world; you have us! I’ll take you back to the military compound, you’ll live with us from now on!”
