Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Capítulo 2250: Chapter 2245: Separation

The car kept driving, and eventually had to get on the provincial road. Yuan Yunong was a bit worried.

“It’s already late at night, and we haven’t arrived at Linjiang City for so long. When do you think we’ll reach the seaside?” she asked irritably.

“Isn’t this your fault? If you hadn’t caused such a big commotion, we wouldn’t be in this trouble,” said the coffee guy.

“If I hadn’t caused such a commotion, how could I have gotten the kids out?” Yuan Yunong said angrily.

“Alright, let’s not discuss this. You take a nap, and then switch to driving. I’m tired from driving for so long,” said the coffee guy.

“Okay!”

Before Yuan Yunong could fall asleep, the car stopped. She opened her eyes and found two other cars parked on the roadside.

The coffee guy opened the car door and got out, walking straight towards one of the cars.

“What are you doing?” Yuan Yunong was startled and quickly opened her car door to follow. When she saw the two people getting out of the car, she was secretly shocked, “Who are they?”

“Hello! We were sent by Boss Hou to pick you up,” said one man with a scar on his face, extending a sturdy arm towards Yuan Yunong for a handshake.

Yuan Yunong glanced at him without speaking. She raised her chin and asked the “skinny monkey” man, “Are you as well?”

“Yes!” The skinny monkey nodded, “We were all sent by Boss Hou to pick you up! You can’t keep going forward. The police blockade is ahead.”

“That’s correct! They’re looking for a man and a woman with a pair of twins! You must split up now,” said the man with the scarred face.

“What do we do?” Yuan Yunong looked at the coffee guy, “Seems like we have no choice!”

“Yes! Each of them takes one child. I’ll leave this car to you. Your final destination with the three of you is the pier on the west coast of Linjiang! You’ll regroup there!” said the coffee guy.

“It has to be this way!” Yuan Yunong agreed, finding this the most feasible method.

The police don’t have photographs, only general descriptions. If they split up, it would be easier to get through the checkpoint.

“Since everyone’s agreed, we shouldn’t delay. Let’s hurry on!” said the man with a scar, “If all goes well, we can reach the destination by tomorrow morning!”

“Alright!” The four of them reached a consensus.

Inside the car, two little ones were listening intently to the conversation outside.

“Brother! It seems they want to separate us! I’m really scared, what should we do?”

Chenguang said quietly.

“Guangguang, don’t be scared! Even if we’re separated, they can’t take us away! Did you hear? They said there are many police officers along the way. Let’s stay quiet first and then ask for help!” Ning Chenyang said.

“Okay! We’re not afraid!”

“Alright!”

The car door opened, and Yuan Yunong peered inside, seeing the two little ones already awake, staring back at her with wide, bright eyes.

“Teacher Yuan! Where are we?” Ning Chenyang asked, looking bewildered.

“Teacher Yuan, we need to find mom!” Ning Chenguang pouted.

“Okay! Don’t worry, I’ll have these two uncles take you to find your mom, okay?” Yuan Yunong smiled, trying to speak to the kids with as gentle an attitude as possible.
