Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2216: Chapter 2211: The Escape Plan

”Sorry! I have no intention of taking off my military uniform now.” Qin Jian pulled out a piece of paper from Zhen Hao’s hand with a quick motion, took a pen from his jacket pocket, and quickly wrote down a series of numbers on it, ”My phone number! Have your people check if there’s been any phone communication between these three individuals!”

Then, Qin Jian left the work addresses and phone numbers of Yuan Yunong and Hua Jin for the National Security Bureau personnel to investigate.

”Alright. I’ll leave it to you then.” Zhen Hao looked very satisfied at the departing figure of Qin Jian, murmuring to himself, ”A real talent indeed! Wasting such talent would be a pity...”

The National Security Bureau couldn’t spare extra personnel for long-term surveillance, which was indeed quite troublesome.

They could temporarily set aside matters here, but Qin Jian couldn’t.

This involved the safety of his two children; he couldn’t afford to be inactive. Moreover, the previous incident had severely affected him.

Several days ago, the military department promoted several lieutenant colonels to colonel, and he wasn’t among them.

To say he wasn’t affected would be a lie.

He felt uncomfortable inside, and he eagerly awaited the capture of those spies to clear his name.

Soon after his return to the regiment headquarters, a call from the National Security Bureau came in.

He picked up the phone, and it was an employee from the investigation department who had recently joined: ”Regiment Commander Qin, we’ve found the things you wanted to check. The phone numbers you gave have indeed been in contact! The longest call was two minutes and three seconds, and the shortest was thirty seconds.”

”Understood.”

”Okay. If you need anything, just let me know! Our Supervisor Zhen told me to be at your disposal anytime!”

”Alright.”

After hanging up the phone, Qin Jian came to a conclusion.

The three of them were acquainted; perhaps they could support each other in this matter. They might be planning an escape with the children, so it was imperative to keep a close watch on the kids.

This was the most important thing!

Qin Jian picked up the phone and called the regiment’s security office, insisting on increasing patrols around the compound. Additionally, he made a special call to the kindergarten, instructing them that except for him and An Hao, no one else was allowed to take the children away from the kindergarten, and he requested the head of the kindergarten to keep it confidential.

After finishing these tasks, he felt somewhat at ease.

..................

The kindergarten children were napping, and Yuan Yunong stood at the door checking the time.

At this moment, she expected a call.

Yesterday, after testing the children’s intelligence, she wanted to report to Hua Jin, but Hua Jin refused to meet.

In anger, she left a note.

On her way back, she once again called Hou Zicheng using her home phone.

She said her second task was complete, and she needed to take the two children out of the country the following afternoon.

Considering the plan to take the children out of the country, it wasn’t a simple task; they were the grandsons of the military district commander. Once the counterforce realized something, a massive manhunt and capture would ensue, leading to a dead end.

They certainly couldn’t leave through regular domestic flights or ships; they would have to be smuggled out.

Hou Zicheng had been entrenched in the country for years, using business as a cover, so his network was very extensive, making it feasible for him to facilitate this.
