Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2213: Chapter 2208: A Terrifying Hypothesis

”An Hao...” Qin Jian thought for a moment and said, ”Do you think that person’s questions seem quite mentally taxing?”

”Yes!” An Hao’s eyes lit up, ”I finally know! I was wondering what seemed odd. Turns out it’s really strange here! Qin Jian, if I remember correctly, these questions should be about testing IQ! You’ve heard about it, right?”

”Yeah! I’ve heard of it!” Qin Jian nodded, but what followed puzzled him greatly, ”What do you think a stranger is up to by testing the children’s IQ?”

”How would I know?” An Hao was also puzzled, ”Is it possible that person has no motives, simply posing a few questions? Just to see who is smart and who isn’t?”

Qin Jian kept silent.

”Could it be they have some intentions towards my children?” An Hao suddenly sat up and said, ”Qin Jian, do you think Yuan Yunong might take our children away?”

”Why take them away?” Qin Jian patted his wife’s shoulder to calm her, ”Don’t be too anxious! Yuan Yunong is just a spy, she’s after intelligence! What would she want with the children?”

”I don’t know.” An Hao stared intently into Qin Jian’s eyes, ”It’s a kind of intuition! You understand? A terrifying intuition! Didn’t we analyze before that Yuan Yunong refused to leave! Her second target, right? Could the second target be this target—to take our children!”

Qin Jian was also shocked by An Hao’s astonishing analysis and took a while to recover: ”Why would she take our children away? Taking away two children would be challenging! High risk as well!”

”To integrate them into her spy organization and train the next generation!” An Hao was startled by her own sudden and wild idea, but upon careful thought, it made more and more sense.

Through these days of observing Yuan Yunong, An Hao felt she was undoubtedly a person with high intelligence.

Being able to stealthily steal file data under their noses without a single mistake, it’s definitely not an easy task.

Moreover, this Yuan Yunong did things so quietly, slowly infiltrating within.

If it weren’t for the string taut in the hearts of her and Qin Jian, perhaps she herself would have thought of Yuan Yunong as a good woman, a good teacher.

Thinking back now, it seems that Yuan Yunong, from the very beginning, has always been protecting the two children and mentioned their intelligence more than once.

Although teachers would usually be pleased to have good students in their class, it’s rare to see someone like Yuan Yunong who gets so excited upon seeing these two children’s cleverness.

”Darling! This guess of yours is truly frightening! I feel it’s somewhat incredible!” This bold conjecture was beyond his realm of understanding; he never dared to think that Yuan Yunong’s approach to them was for such a purpose.

”What’s so incredible?” An Hao pressed her chest with her hand, calming her racing heart and said, ”You know that during the time with the former Soviet Union, they used to train espionage agents? There were men and women, with countless identities, undergoing the harshest training and infiltrating various countries to gather intelligence! They often get close to leaders at a national level! Hence, low IQ and lack of cleverness wouldn’t cut it, not only failing the mission but also exposing their nation’s background! This could cause an international uproar!” So, they must be highly intelligent with strong psychological resilience to accomplish it!”
