Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2217: Chapter 2212: Are You Courting Death?

Hou Zicheng agreed at the time, saying he indeed had connections and could get in touch quickly. He asked her to be ready by midday the next day, and once the call came, to find a way to take the children out of the compound.

Time was ticking away, minute by minute.

Yet there was no movement from the phone.

Finally, the phone rang. Yuan Yunong rushed over and grabbed the phone on the table: ”Hello! Old Hou...”

”Hei Mei! Are you looking for death?” Hua Jin’s icy cold voice came through the phone, sending a shiver down Yuan Yunong’s spine.

”Hua Jin, let me explain!” Yuan Yunong tried to speak, but was ruthlessly interrupted.

”Your plan is canceled! Meet me tonight!”

”But...”

”No buts!” Hua Jin hung up the phone.

Yuan Yunong slowly put down the phone. Since Hua Jin spoke like that, he must have seen the note.

The plan has changed. Hou Zicheng must have also received the news by now, right?

It seems her plan is completely ruined. She originally intended to leave with the children today, but now, it’s really...

Finally made it to the end of work.

Yuan Yunong went back to the staff dormitory, quickly put on makeup, changed clothes, and went out.

Zhao Dong followed her not too far behind.

This time, he must get to the bottom of it.

.....................

Hua Jin received a call from the coffee shop guy, only then did he know Yuan Yunong planned to act alone.

He had been trying to contact Yuan Yunong by phone, but either he was unavailable or Yuan Yunong was. Helplessly, he first contacted Hou Zicheng.

After consulting Hou Zicheng, he learned that Yuan Yunong actually planned to leave Nancheng with the children on her own.

How could this be an easy task?

These are two genius children with a combined IQ of nearly three hundred. To take them out of the country while they’re fully conscious is almost impossible. Not just taking them out of the country, even getting them out of the military compound is challenging.

He knew Yuan Yunong had long been eager to leave Nancheng.

Therefore, she lost her usual composure and calm, with her steps revealing more mistakes one after another.

The most fatal mistake is that she secretly contacted experts to test the two children. Do not underestimate these two children under five and even more, don’t underestimate Qin Jian and An Hao.

Perhaps, a couple of words from the children could become the key to solving the current puzzle.

This kept Hua Jin somewhat worried, and after he got the call from the coffee shop guy, he was filled with nameless anger. By noon, he finally found time to call Yuan Yunong.

Just as Hua Jin put down the phone, still filled with residual anger, he heard three knocks on the door.

”Come in!”

An Hao pushed the door open, immediately smelling the lingering scent of smoke in the air.

”Did you smoke?” she asked with a smile.

”Yes.” Hua Jin nodded and smiled too, ”Just smoking a cigarette out of boredom! Dr. An, is there something you need from me?”

”There’s an important surgery tomorrow! Dr. Lu wants to know if you have time? If it’s convenient, we can have a consultation this afternoon.” An Hao said.

”Of course, I have time.” Hua Jin smiled, ”That’s fine, I can go anytime. But, Dr. An, you probably didn’t come just for this, right?”

”Smart. Nothing can be hidden from your eyes! I do have something else, I finished reading the books I borrowed from you last time, but some content isn’t very clear...”
