Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2233: Chapter 2227: Oh No! Something’s Happened!

The military compound can’t be taken out, let alone Nancheng City.

Yuan Yunong took the children back to the classroom and let them move freely.

She was thinking about ideas in her mind, if she could get the children out?

As long as the children were taken out, everything would be easier to handle.

Suddenly, she thought of a brilliant idea, and so she asked the principal for leave.

The reason was that she felt a bit unwell and needed to go to the hospital for some medicine.

A kindergarten teacher being ill, the principal had no reason not to let the teacher go see a doctor.

Although the kindergarten also had a medical room, it could only handle headaches, colds, and stomachaches; for anything serious, it was still necessary to go to the outside hospital.

After Yuan Yunong left the kindergarten, she casually found a clinic.

She told the doctor that she had severe insomnia and needed a bottle of sleeping pills.

In those days, sleeping pills were not as regulated as prescription drugs are now, so they weren’t difficult to obtain.

The doctor would give you what you needed.

After buying the sleeping pills, Yuan Yunong hurried back to the kindergarten.

She ground the sleeping pills into powder, and during the lunch, she sprinkled the powder into the soup.

To be on the safe side, she also visited two other classes and secretly scattered some of the powder there as well.

In this way, not only would the children in her class sleep deeply, but those in other classes would too.

Her target wouldn’t be so obvious then.

No one would suspect her of drugging them; otherwise, if only her class had problems while the others were fine,

she herself would likely be implicated, possibly even caught as a suspect.

After she finished sprinkling the powder, several classes’ children all drank the medicated soup containing sleeping pills.

During the afternoon nap, the phone rang.

Yuan Yunong quickly went to answer it: ”Hello! I’m Yuan Yunong!”

”Everything is ready! We can prepare for departure across the border this afternoon! Is there anything else you need help with?” said the coffee boy.

”I need a car.”

”You don’t even need to say, I will provide one for you. But where should the car wait for you? At the compound entrance?”

”Of course not! Waiting here would be suicidal!” Yuan Yunong thought and said, ”At the hospital entrance! The main military hospital entrance!”

”Why?”

The coffee boy asked.

”Right now, it’s difficult for me to get them out. So I’ve drugged the whole class of children. After two o’clock, I’ll wake them one by one, but they definitely won’t be able to wake up, and at that moment the school will be in chaos, they’ll surely look for a car to take the children out of the military compound directly to the military hospital! So, as a teacher, I must follow along! You will meet me at the entrance then. Assess the situation and adapt!” Yuan Yunong said.

”Give me a timeframe.”

”Around a quarter past two to three.”

”Okay! I understand!”

After the phone was hung up, Yuan Yunong took a deep breath; a tough battle was about to begin.

At two in the afternoon, the kindergarten bell rang.

By this time, teachers from each class would call their children to get up, use the bathroom, drink some water, and prepare for the afternoon lessons.

Suddenly, a teacher from a class could be heard loudly calling the children’s names, rushing out of the classroom in panic, and shouting in the yard: ”Something’s wrong! Trouble!”
