Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2201: Chapter 2196: Any Discoveries

An Hao opened her eyes and groggily felt the other side of the bed. The person was gone, but the warmth remained. He had already gone to open the door.

So, she lay back down and closed her eyes peacefully.

Qin Jian opened the door in just a pair of shorts, surprised to see Zhao Dong standing there.

”Why are you here in the middle of the night?” Qin Jian asked, rubbing his sleepy eyes.

”Captain, I’ve made a new discovery!” Zhao Dong pointed at the door and asked, ”Can I come in to talk?”

Qin Jian stepped aside to let Zhao Dong in, bringing with him a cool breeze and a faint smell of alcohol.

”You’ve been drinking?” Qin Jian asked.

”I’m in a bad mood. I had a couple of drinks by myself! But not much.” Zhao Dong still remembered his mission, so he didn’t dare to drink too much for fear of neglecting his duties.

Even though he saw the girl he liked hugging someone else on the street, his mood was extremely unpleasant.

”So, what did you find during your surveillance?” Qin Jian asked as he poured a glass of water.

”Can I smoke a cigarette?” Zhao Dong asked as he took out a cigarette from his pocket, feeling very agitated.

”Of course not!” Qin Jian pointed to the bedroom and said in a low voice, ”Your sister-in-law doesn’t like the smell of smoke!”

Zhao Dong reluctantly put the cigarette away, thinking silently to himself that if Yuan Yunong married him, maybe his performance wouldn’t be much worse than Qin Jian’s.

”Today, I followed Yuan Yunong to a café. Strangely, there was no one in the café. I waited about half an hour before a man arrived. They stayed in the café for a long time before coming out. After coming out, Yuan Yunong hugged the man,” Zhao Dong said.

”What kind of man?” Qin Jian pressed.

”I don’t know. I wanted to follow the man, but then I decided to give up. The man was very alert, and I was worried I would be discovered. So I abandoned the follow.”

”Any other findings?”

”Yes.” Zhao Dong sighed deeply, ”Yuan Yunong actually smokes.”

”Smoking? That’s your finding?” This was not what Qin Jian wanted.

”Yes, I feel that a girl like her, so gentle, so cheerful, so sunny, how could she be a smoking ’bad woman.’” Zhao Dong muttered, feeling as if his heart had been stabbed deeply.

In his conservative view, a woman who smokes is indecent.

”It’s good to see clearly. This woman is not an ordinary woman; she is very deceptive! Only when you see clearly for yourself can you know whether this woman is the kind you want in your heart.” Qin Jian had said all he needed to, leaving Zhao Dong to figure it out on his own.

”Hmm.” Zhao Dong seemed to accept it and nodded.

”It’s getting late. You should leave.” Qin Jian checked the time; it was already past midnight.

”Captain, how am I supposed to get back? It’s so far from the station, and I don’t have a car! Can I stay here tonight?” Zhao Dong acted helplessly, not wanting to leave.

”Fine, do as you wish. The guest room has everything! Go ahead!” Qin Jian said, then got up to go back to the bedroom to sleep. Before closing the door, he stopped to remind Zhao Dong, ”Remember to wash your feet before you sleep; your sister-in-law is a clean freak!”
