Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1851: Chapter 1850: Can’t Stand Women’s Tears

”It’s nothing. Captain Tian, you guessed it right, Gan Tian’s family has some issues. A letter from home said her mother was in a car accident and has been lying in the hospital... Her father can’t take care of her alone, and asked her to help take care of her.”

”A car accident? That serious?”

”Yes. After Gan Tian heard, she immediately filed a report, requesting to take her annual leave early to go back and take care of her mother!”

”Alright. I understand. I’ll go see her off!” Tian Niu bid farewell to Li Miao and hurriedly chased after her.

Gan Tian was waiting for the bus at the bus stop.

She anxiously looked around and suddenly saw Tian Niu jogging towards her: ”Captain Tian, why are you here?”

”I saw you looking worried, and your sister-in-law also felt you seemed off, so she asked me to come and check on you,” Tian Niu said.

”Captain, I’m fine. You should go back.” Gan Tian forced a smile, ”Thank you for worrying about me!”

”I heard from Lin Miao about your mother’s car accident! But don’t worry, be careful on the road,” Tian Niu said as he pulled out a wad of cash from his pocket and handed it to Gan Tian, ”Take this money and buy some nutritional supplements for your aunt when you get back.”

”No, no, no! I can’t take this money!” Gan Tian quickly declined, ”You and your wife just had a baby, you need money for many things...”

”Gan Tian, take it! I’m not good with words, but I want to express our feelings.”

”Captain Tian, I really can’t take it.”

”Don’t be modest! I’m older than you. Outside this camp, you should call me brother! As your brother, I’m telling you to take it. If you don’t, I’ll be upset!” Tian Niu insisted, stuffing the money into Gan Tian’s hand.

Holding the money, Gan Tian’s nose tingled, and tears almost fell: ”Thank you! Captain Tian! I really don’t know what to say.”

Tian Niu saw Gan Tian crying and took out his handkerchief, giving it to her: ”I can’t stand to see a woman’s tears! Quickly wipe them!”

Gan Tian took the handkerchief, wiped her tears, looked at him with a smile, and softly said, ”You and your wife are good people! I like you both! When I come back, I’ll bring some local specialties from my hometown for you and your wife...”

”Sure. But first, you have to take care of your mother!”

Gan Tian was deeply touched: ”Captain Tian, you’re so good to me...”

”I feel like you’re a sister to me—my own younger sister.” Tian Niu said just as the bus arrived and stopped at the roadside, ”Come on, get on the bus quickly. We’ll talk more when you get back.”

”Okay.” Gan Tian’s heart was filled with happiness. She picked up her bag and got on the bus. Before the door closed, she paused and leaned out, wanting to tell Tian Niu she liked him.

But thinking of Gu Shuangshuang, Gan Tian held back and swallowed her words.

The commander’s wife was right; what shouldn’t be thought about should never be thought about. What shouldn’t be said should never be said.

”What? Do you still have something to say to me?” Tian Niu saw her hesitating and quickly asked.

Gan Tian shook her head, breaking into the sweetest smile for Tian Niu: ”Go back quickly! Take good care of your wife and Nannan.”

The bus door closed with a bang.

Tian Niu stood on the platform, watching Gan Tian leave.

Gan Tian smiled with satisfaction, looking at Tian Niu. Although she had given up some thoughts she shouldn’t have had, she felt she was closer to Tian Niu’s heart.
