Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1457: Chapter 1457: Misunderstanding... It’s Purely a Misunderstanding

”You are...?”

”I am her lover. I would like to ask if she is in this rescue team?”

”This...”

Hearing the conversation outside, Ji Chuan had just finished stitching the patient’s wound. He tied off the surgical thread and cut it short, then walked out, took off his bloodied gloves, washed his hands, and exited the tent.

Outside stood a man, shouldering ”two seventy-one”, standing there with a straight posture.

”Are you Dr. Ma’s lover?” Ji Chuan asked.

”Yes. My name is Hen Zhiyuan, and I am the deputy leader of this rescue party. I came to ask if Ma Mei is here?” My wife would definitely be involved in past rescue missions.

So, it should be no exception this time.

”I’m sorry, but her name is not on the list this time. If you want to see her, you can meet her after the rescue work is over and we return home.” Ji Chuan said indifferently.

”Okay, thank you very much. Goodbye.” Hen Zhiyuan said before walking back.

Ji Chuan returned to the tent, and Yan Ye had just finished his subsequent tasks.

”Why didn’t you tell him the actual situation?” Yan Ye asked.

”Why tell him the truth? Wouldn’t that make an enemy for Qin Jian? Ma Mei had just been fired from the hospital, and it was because of An Hao. Now, both of them are in the same corps. If Hen Zhiyuan knew about this, wouldn’t he create obstacles for Qin Jian? They say people who are not family don’t enter the same door. Ma Mei is a deeply cunning and vicious person, who can guarantee her husband isn’t?” Ji Chuan felt his analysis was spot on.

”That person is the deputy leader. He’s also a military hero. How can he be as unsavoury as you say?” Yan Ye spoke and then smiled, adding, ”But, there’s also that possibility, considering a guy like you could infiltrate our forces, much less him who is far better than you...”

”What’s wrong with me? Where am I not good?” Ji Chuan looked at him with a melancholy glare, ”I just didn’t know Yan Huan was your sister and chatted her up on the street last time, right?”

”Then why did Yan Huan go home afterward with her face red, accusing you of harassing her?” Yan Ye raised his eyebrows.

”A misunderstanding... pure misunderstanding.”

Hen Zhiyuan slowly headed towards the camp, listening to several doctors whispering along the way.

”Did you know? Dr. Ma Ma Mei is really doomed this time. I heard that the incident has been recorded in her file, and it’s going to follow her for life. No matter where she goes afterward, there probably won’t be any hospital willing to hire her.”

”That’s not even the worst of it. I heard she’s going to be discharged from the military because of this incident.”

”That serves her right. The previous incident with Ruan Fangfang, I heard she is her niece. At that time, just to keep a spot in the cardiothoracic surgery department, she plotted against the intern An Hao. And what happened? She was taken care of by others.”

”I think it’s just fate. They are probably fated to clash with Dr. An.”

Hen Zhiyuan suddenly stopped in his tracks when he heard this discussion: ”What did you say? Dr. Ma has been fired from the hospital, and she’s also going to be discharged from the military?”

A few doctors, seeing someone inquiring about Ma Mei, quickly fell silent.

”Could you please tell me, is what you said true?” Hen Zhiyuan asked again.

”It’s true.” Then, the doctors quickly dispersed.

Ma Mei had actually been fired!

Hen Zhiyuan knew about the medical incident and initially thought it wouldn’t be discovered, yet it had unexpectedly unraveled.

At this thought, his face turned grim.
