Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1454: Chapter 1454 Dreaming of Spring

Qin Jian had drained his cup in one gulp and immediately went to sleep.

He was truly exhausted from the past few days. He needed a brief rest before hurrying back into the fight.

At this time, Tian Niu had also returned from a rescue mission. Nonchalantly, he flipped open the tent, not caring who was curled up under the blankets asleep, and just collapsed to sleep himself.

Tian Niu slept soundly, even dreaming about Gu Shuangshuang.

She was standing there, her eyes full of grievance.

He approached to comfort Gu Shuangshuang, but his wife turned away, unwilling to pay him any attention.

In his agitation, Tian Niu wrapped his arms around Gu Shuangshuang.

But Gu Shuangshuang refused to let him embrace her, and in his haste, he kissed Gu Shuangshuang’s face.

Just as his lips were about to touch her cheek, he was abruptly woken by a hefty slap from Gu Shuangshuang! Although it was just a dream, the pain felt too real.

Tian Niu woke up from the pain, and upon opening his eyes, he saw Qin Jian’s face very close to his. If he had moved forward just an inch more, their lips would have touched.

The situation frightened him into breaking out in a cold sweat. He quickly let go of Qin Jian and moved a few inches back, ”Commander, what’s this about?”

Qin Jian smiled somewhat mockingly as he looked at him, ”Don’t you remember? Were you just having a spring dream? Dreaming about kissing me instead of Gu Shuangshuang?”

”No wonder it hurts! Commander, did you slap me?” Tian Niu said while rubbing his sore cheek.

”If I hadn’t slapped you, I fear my reputation would have been ruined by you,” Qin Jian stretching and sitting up. He opened the tent’s curtain to look outside; it was still early.

It felt like an unbearably long time, but he had actually only been asleep for an hour.

”I thought it was just a dream,” Tian Niu said, rubbing his sore face.

”Missing your wife?” Qin Jian rolled over and, facing upward, began chatting with Tian Niu.

”Yeah. I had just gotten married the day before I was dragged away! I haven’t had enough time to adore my wife,” Tian Niu said, and then asked Qin Jian, ”Don’t you miss your sister-in-law and your two nephews?”

Qin Jian squinted his eyes, a smile creeping upon his lips, ”Of course I do... It’s a pity that I didn’t bring their photos to ease the homesickness.”

Right then, footsteps were heard outside the tent, followed by Yan Ye’s voice, ”Excuse me, in which tent is Commander Qin?”

Qin Jian rolled over, sat up quickly, and after clearing his head, opened the tent to see Yan Ye and asked, ”Are you part of the medical aid team? Approximately how many have arrived? Is the supply of medicines sufficient?”

”There are two medical teams, about twenty people, and enough medical supplies, don’t worry about it. Ji Chuan and I are leading, and after arriving, we’ve been instructed to follow your directions and collaborate with you to complete the earthquake relief work.”

”Good,” Qin Jian, rubbing his weary face, stepped out of the tent, ”The situation here is severe, with heavy casualties, and the numbers are still climbing. Since you are here, start working quickly.”

Yan Ye nodded, ”You can count on us.”

”I naturally trust you. Professor Yan, I leave the injured in your care.” Qin Jian patted his shoulder trustingly and headed towards the rescue site.

”Wait,” Yan Ye called out urgently.
