Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 793: Chapter 793: His Worries

”Are you sure?” Yan Ye pointed to her ankle, which was swollen like a steamed bun, and said, ”Do you plan to hop up to the fifth floor on one foot? Or do you intend to use both and climb up to the fifth floor?”

”One foot is fine. If you don’t believe me, I can show you,” Cheng Yu said, hopping forward on one leg.

”Ms. Cheng...” Yan Ye was encountering such a stubborn woman for the first time. He couldn’t understand whether Cheng Yu was too embarrassed or for some reason always refused his help.

Just as Yan Ye was thinking what to do, Cheng Yue came over from afar: ”Sis!”

Hearing Cheng Yue’s call, Cheng Yu turned her head to look at him and waved: ”Yuyu, come here!”

Cheng Yue hurried a few steps to Cheng Yu’s side. He was about to tease her for standing on one leg but suddenly saw that she was injured and quickly asked, ”Sis, what happened to you?”

What kind of day was this?

Both siblings had gotten hurt!

”We’ll talk upstairs. Help me, will you?” Cheng Yu reached out towards Cheng Yue’s arm and, without deviation, happened to grab the spot where his wound was, causing him so much pain that he couldn’t help but scream, ”Ah!”

”Yuyu, what’s wrong?” Cheng Yu was startled and hastily reached out to touch his arm again, but Cheng Yue dodged away.

”It’s nothing. Just a small injury. Let’s go, sis!”

Yan Ye saw that Cheng Yu seemed a bit resistant towards him and didn’t say anything; he just followed them upstairs.

Upon entering, Cheng Yue invited him to sit, but Yan Ye declined.

Cheng Yue helped Cheng Yu sit down and knelt to examine her ankle.

”It’s nothing serious, just a fall and a soft tissue contusion, nothing else to worry about,” Cheng Yu said.

”Sis. Why did you fall? Was it because of your head or your foot?” Cheng Yue looked at her with concern.

A fall for an ordinary person wouldn’t matter much, but for Cheng Yu, it was more troublesome.

”I twisted my ankle. Don’t worry about me.” Cheng Yu pulled her brother down to sit, reached out to touch his arm; Cheng Yue attempted to dodge, but she snagged him firmly.

”You got hurt. Did you get into a fight again?” Cheng Yu asked.

”No. This time, I was just doing the right thing,” Cheng Yue briefly glossed over his situation and then continued to ask Cheng Yu, ”Sis, why did you look as if you didn’t see me today?”

”When? Where?” Cheng Yu asked.

”Two hours ago, not far from our Military Medical University Affiliated Hospital. You seemed very distracted then,” Cheng Yue said.

He hadn’t planned to press Cheng Yu for answers, but after going back, he decided he needed to ask her.

This was the only way he could be at ease.

”I...” Cheng Yu hesitated for a moment before saying honestly, ”I couldn’t see clearly.”

”What? Sis, has your condition worsened to such a serious extent?” Cheng Yue exclaimed in alarm, ”Won’t it be very, very dangerous for you to be alone in the future?”

”It won’t be. Yuyu, it’s only temporary. It’s not a big deal, don’t worry too much,” Cheng Yu sighed softly, lifting her hand to gently stroke Cheng Yue’s head, ”Yuyu, sis is a bit tired, help me rest.”

”Alright.” Cheng Yue helped her to bed and took off her shoes for her.

Cheng Yu closed her eyes, and the memories sealed in her mind flooded in...
