Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 783: Chapter 783: Give it a Try

The five or six cronies stepped forward and seized Yan Huan.

Wang Jiu took several fierce drags on his cigarette, flicked the butt onto the ground, undid the buttons of his shirt, and walked toward the struggling Yan Huan.

”What do you think you’re doing?”

”Fucking you!”

In panic and unsure what to do, Yan Huan suddenly heard an elongated tone, nonchalant, drifting from not too far away, ”Why don’t you try to mess with someone? Who said you only got beaten by women today? Here comes your Master Cheng to beat you up too.”

Upon hearing this voice, Yan Huan’s gaze swiftly turned toward the direction it came from. She saw Cheng Yue still posing on his bicycle, with a military backpack slung around his neck, the very picture of a rascal.

Following beside him were Li Zhi, along with a boy wearing glasses whom she did not recognize.

Seeing Yan Huan being held by the filthy paws of a few thugs, Li Zhi roared at Cheng Yue, ”Cheng Yue, these scumbags dare to lay hands on our PLA sister, why are you still wasting words? Let’s go! Take them down first, then we talk.”

”Let’s go!” Cheng Yue dismounted from the bicycle in a single movement, hitched up his trousers, and charged at Wang Jiu, ”I’m telling you, bumping into me today is your bad luck. It’s not just women who will beat you, but men too.”

”Wow, you brat! You barely have a full set of hairs, and you dare to fight against the Overlord of South Street. Today I’ll have to let you know, what it means to be asking for...”

Before the word ’death’ could be uttered, when Cheng Yue was still five meters away, he took two large strides and threw a kick straight at Wang Jiu’s face.

Wang Jiu hadn’t even managed to assume his stance when Cheng Yue’s foot had reached his face.

A tremendous force sent him flying, landing three meters away with a thud, then he spat out a mouthful of blood with a ’pfft’.

Two teeth also fell out along with it.

Last time, on his own turf—South Street—he was punched and lost two teeth. Now, on his own turf again, he’d been kicked in the face by a young punk, losing another two teeth.

Fuck! The pain! It hurts like hell!

Wang Jiu’s henchmen stared at the scene dumbfounded, feeling a strange sense of déjà vu.

”Are you all blind? Don’t you see I’m being hit? What are you standing there stupidly for? Get them!” That kick made Wang Jiu realize the ruthlessness of the seemingly playful boy before him, launching a sudden attack without a word of warning, ”You’re too sneaky! There’s nothing fair about you!”

”Do I need to be fair with you?” Cheng Yue spat in his direction and with a few moves took down the whole lot.

A few more were moaning and trying to get up. Li Zhi, with a piece of brick in hand, gave each one a hit, and instantly the gang quieted down.

Only Zhang Chaoqian, supporting a little kid with glasses, stood behind a Chinese parasol tree, shouting loudly, ”Go, go, go!”

”So, are you convinced?” It had been a long time since Cheng Yue had fought, and that round of punches and kicks was nothing more than a warm-up for him.

Yan Huan never expected that the little brat who had thrown her into the water last time would be her savior this time. His intervention wasn’t bad at all, feeling not much inferior to a scout soldier.

Just as she was about to step forward and thank Cheng Yue, she suddenly saw Wang Jiu pull out a folding knife from his pocket and stab at Cheng Yue from behind.

”Look out!” Yan Huan screamed.

Cheng Yue promptly dodged, but was a fraction too slow, and a sharp blade sliced open a gash on his arm.
