Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 784: Chapter 784: Don’t Disgrace the PLA

A sharp pain made Cheng Yue furrow his brow; he looked down to see fresh red blood oozing from the wound, soaking the sleeve of his white shirt.

”Damn it!” He cursed under his breath and quickly made his move, grabbing Wang Jiu’s wrist and twisting it forcefully backward. There was a snapping sound, and Wang Jiu began to scream, ”Feel the power of the Bone-Separating Hand!”

”Try the taste of this ’pancake’ too,” Li Zhi said as he stepped forward with the brick in hand.

”Wait a minute!” Cheng Yue looked at the several bare spots in his mouth, then called over to Li Zhi, ”I think his dental work looks quite interesting. He’s missing four teeth on one side, which is a bit asymmetrical! How about you hold his mouth open for me, and I’ll use the brick to knock out four on the other side too. That way, it’ll be symmetrical.”

”You bet!” Li Zhi rolled up his sleeves, ready to get down to business.

Scared half to death, Wang Jiu saw his men getting beaten and couldn’t match up, so he quickly began to beg for mercy, ”Cheng ’Young Master,’ please let me off this time! I’m a bastard! I deserve it! But look, I didn’t really do anything to this PLA sister here, please, let me go.”

Cheng Yue’s original goal wasn’t to fight; he just came to help Yan Huan because she was being bullied.

Since the other party was begging for mercy, he didn’t bother with him any further. He kicked Wang Jiu, who was lying on the ground like a lump of mud, and stretched out his hand, ”Bring the medical fee, and then scram!”

Wang Jiu shakily took out fifty yuan from his pocket and handed it to Cheng Yue, ”That’s all I have.”

Cheng Yue glanced at the money and felt satisfied enough, ”It’ll do! Get lost!”

As soon as Wang Jiu heard he could leave, he quickly got his people to roll and crawl away.

This life was truly unbearable; beaten twice, and both times he ended up more injured and even had to pay the medical fees.

How could he still call himself the ’Overlord of South Street’?

He was becoming a real pushover!

After chasing off this bunch of ruffians and hoodlums, Li Zhi hurried over to Yan Huan and asked, ”Sister Yan Huan, are you okay?”

”I’m fine,” Yan Huan sighed with relief and said, ”Thank goodness you guys arrived in time, otherwise, I really can’t bear to think of the consequences.”

”How could you be so silly?” Cheng Yue couldn’t help teasing Yan Huan, ”You’re supposed to be a female soldier, aren’t you? All that military boxing for nothing? The capture and fight training all in vain? From now on, go out less in your military uniform! Don’t embarrass the PLA!”

”As if you’re so capable?” Just when Yan Huan was starting to feel a little bit of appreciation for him, his words dissipated it, ”Do you think these people are just ruffian scum? You’re hardly better than them!”

”Ah! You’re driving me mad!” Originally, he had done a good deed by saving her, but now he was being talked about like this; Cheng Yue was truly frustrated.

No, he had to leave!

His aura simply didn’t mesh with this woman’s!

”Let’s go! Li Zhi! Zhang Chaoqian!”

Cheng Yue got on his bike to leave, but then Yan Huan blocked his way, ”Although you’re a jerk! But since you saved me this time, I still owe you my gratitude. Your arm is still bleeding, do you really plan to just let it bleed all the way to the hospital?”

”Ow! It hurts so much! If you hadn’t mentioned it, I would have completely forgotten about it! Now that you pointed it out, it really does hurt!” Cheng Yue clutched his arm and groaned.

”Sister Yan Huan, why did you even tell him?” Li Zhi said, ”This guy is like this, when he forgets about it, he acts like a hero not afraid to shed blood and sacrifice, but the moment he remembers, he turns into a crybaby bear. Look, none of us mentioned it.”
