Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 756: Chapter 756: Sending an Invitation

”No! This is my fault! I knocked over your food.” Cheng Yue bowed his head and pulled out twenty yuan from his coat pocket to give to An Hao. ”It’s my mistake, I’ll foot the bill! Take this money and go buy another meal!”

How could they feel good about taking money from a teacher?

Moreover, it wasn’t intentional!

They had only been knocked into by someone else, which caused them to bump into Gu Shuangshuang and An Hao, spilling the food all over the floor.

”No need, teacher! It’s just a meal.” Times were no longer so hard that they couldn’t afford anything to eat, so no one really minded.

”How could that be okay?” Cheng Yu insisted on giving the money to An Hao. ”Please take it.”

An Hao refused: ”Really, it’s not necessary! If it weren’t for you last time, I probably would have lost my wallet. I intended to thank you, but you left quickly, so... You didn’t do this on purpose either, so let this meal be on me. It’s also like repaying you a favor!”

Cheng Yu smiled, and since An Hao said so, she didn’t insist further: ”Alright then. But we must differentiate matters! If you don’t want my money this time, then... I’ll treat you to coffee when you have time. I hope you won’t refuse then.”

”Okay.” An Hao smiled and nodded, ”I was supposed to thank you, teacher, but did not expect... such an outcome.”

”Fate!” Cheng Yu asked with a smile, ”What did everyone call you just now?”

”An Hao!”

”An Hao! Wishing you well with time! What a nice name.” Cheng Yu murmured with a smile.

”How may I address you, teacher?” An Hao casually asked as well.

”My surname is Cheng! My name is Cheng Yu!”

”Hey hey hey! How come you share the same surname as that little rascal?” Gu Shuangshuang spoke sharply.

However, seeing that her appearance didn’t seem to have much resemblance to that of Cheng Yue, she didn’t think much of it.

An Hao gently tugged on Gu Shuangshuang.

Realizing she had said something wrong, Gu Shuangshuang coughed lightly and urged everyone to go eat: ”Let’s go! An Hao is treating! Everyone, don’t hold back!”

As soon as she finished speaking, the four of them picked up their lunch boxes and ran off, leaving behind the mess for the cafeteria cleaning staff to take care of.

”An Hao... An Hao...” Cheng Yu repeated several times, her lips curling into a smile.

Indeed, as beautiful as her name.

An Hao treated her dorm friends to another meal, and Gu Shuangshuang, rubbing her round belly, belched loudly: ”Although I didn’t get to eat the braised pork I always liked, thanks to Boss An’s treat, I got to eat several additional dishes, which is really satisfying.”

Lei Linxuan looked around and whispered: ”Did you guys notice? As soon as we got our food, everyone’s eyes turned green.”

Gu Shuangshuang: ”That’s because we’re eating the staff meal!”

”Just this once! If it happens a couple more times, I’m going to go broke.” An Hao said with a laugh.

Gu Shuangshuang laughed heartily: ”Speaking of today, I really have to thank this Teacher Cheng. If she hadn’t knocked over the food, we wouldn’t have gotten to eat so much.”

”Come to think of it, this teacher’s attitude was quite friendly! Not like some teachers who act all high and mighty!” Zhang Juan said.

”Ha ha! Are you talking about Yan Ye?”

”I didn’t say Teacher Yan! Teacher Yan is not that kind of person!”

The week passed quickly, and with two classes off on Friday afternoon plus two anatomy classes at night, An Hao went to the lab while waiting for class to start.

Teacher Yan said there was something important to announce today, so after class, she rushed to the lab building.
