Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 790: Chapter 790: Is it Blind?

Qin Jian and An Hao went to Flory Street, where the beef wasn’t bad.

It was all veal, naturally the price was also much higher.

An Hao had a monthly income and income, and Qin Jian’s salary was all with her too, so she had quite a bit of money available to use.

It was no longer the kind of poverty where they were so broke they’d wish to split a penny into eight, to stretch it further.’

Therefore, she could choose some reasonably good quality meat, after all, it wasn’t getting any cheaper for outsiders, it was all for her own family to eat.

Even if she were to give some away, it would be to Uncle Yan’s family, Yan Ye had been a great help with her studies, and Yan Huan had saved her this time; she rightly should express her gratitude, offering the best to share with everyone.

To make braised beef, the meat would shrink, so An Hao bought twenty pounds, two big bags full to take back.

Qin Jian carried the beef, and An Hao looked around at the fruit vendors on the side of the road, thinking of buying some fruit to take home as well.

Inadvertently, her gaze was attracted by a passerby.

When she looked more closely, she realized that it wasn’t just anyone, it was indeed Teacher Cheng Yu.

Her outfit was so eye-catching that in the crowd, one could spot her immediately.

”Why aren’t you walking?” Qin Jian noticed that An Hao hadn’t followed and turned around to find her standing by the roadside, lost in thought.

”Look. Teacher Cheng Yu.” An Hao pointed to her standing at the opposite street corner, her gaze seemed vacant, standing by the roadside as if lost in thought.

Qin Jian saw her too, feeling that something seemed off about Cheng Yu.

”Qin Jian, I’m worried,” said An Hao.

”Worried about what?” Qin Jian asked.

”Look at her. I feel like she might be gearing up to dash into the street at any moment.”

”Not likely. She’s waiting for the light. She’s an adult, she wouldn’t just charge into traffic while watching the cars come and go! Maybe she’s just lost in her own thoughts.”

”That’s probably it.” An Hao also felt that her worry was perhaps a bit superfluous, ”Let’s go.”

So the two turned a corner and headed in a different direction.

Before they had gotten far, the sound of screeching brakes was heard, followed by a driver’s cursing: ”Are you blind or what? You could see the cars coming, yet you still dash forward.”

Qin Jian and An Hao, hearing the noise, hurriedly turned around and ran back.

At the same time, a man wearing a gray coat and a gray hat was running towards the scene from another direction.

After seeing that Qin Jian and An Hao had arrived first, he stopped in his tracks and blended into the crowd.

Wedging through the tight-packed crowd, An Hao saw Cheng Yu sitting on the ground, her knees scraped beneath her long sweater-dress, exposing pale flesh.

”Teacher Cheng, are you alright?” An Hao approached and called out to her, trying to help her up.

This fall seemed to snap Cheng Yu back to reality, and she glanced down at her wound, wincing in pain: ”I’m fine, just give me a hand.”

Meanwhile, the driver was still ranting: ”Are your eyes just for decoration? Are you blind?”

”What are you yelling for? Can’t you see the traffic light? Pedestrians were crossing, and you ran the red light, hitting someone on the zebra crossing, and you still think you’re in the right? Can someone please call the police?”

An Hao’s words silenced the driver completely.

Nearly hitting someone, it was his fault no matter how you looked at it!

His loud voice might intimidate others, but facing a tough situation, he had no choice but to admit his mistake: ”No, no, no! I was wrong, I was wrong! I’ll pay the medical expenses!”
