Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 778: Chapter 778 Loss of Fertility

The door opened and the doctor came out saying, ”Hmm, the injury is quite serious. Luckily you arrived early enough for treatment! The injured area won’t become necrotic. We need to operate immediately.”

”Yes, yes, yes. Then operate! Go ahead with the surgery!” Qin Ru Hai said anxiously. After all, this was related to Qin Fen’s lifelong happiness, and furthermore, it concerned the Qin family’s lineage.

An accident absolutely could not occur!

”You’ll need to make a payment first,” the doctor said.

Qin Jian was about to go when Qin Ru Hai said to him, ”Let me do it. They collected quite a bit of gift money from the wedding! After the New Year, I sold the corn we couldn’t eat, so we still have money at home.”

Qin Ru Hai went to make the payment, and the surgery began.

Li Junping had been weeping outside the whole time; which mother wouldn’t worry about her son?

She didn’t want to cry, but she couldn’t stop the tears.

The ordeal lasted all morning and it was already past lunchtime.

Qin Ru Hai and his wife were both elderly, had been shocked, and had been running around anxiously. Without eating something, Qin Jian was worried they wouldn’t hold up, so he took them to have lunch first.

The surgery would probably take a while longer. An Hao, who had no appetite, volunteered to wait for the results until the surgery was finished.

In no time, the lights in the operating room went out and Qin Fen was wheeled out.

An Hao hurried over and asked, ”Doctor, how is it?”

The lead surgeon said to the nurse, ”You take the patient to the ward first.”

He then turned back to An Hao and said, ”Are you a relative of the patient? The surgery is complete, but the damage was quite severe. We are concerned that it might affect his fertility in the future.”

”Then... when he’s recovered a bit more, please do a check for that.” After all, it was a big deal.

”Alright. You can now go to the ward to see the patient.”

Qin Fen stayed in the hospital for about ten days and was almost fully recovered.

On the day before discharge, the hospital conducted an examination, and the results were to be collected the next day.

The doctor hadn’t specified what the examination was for, and the Qin family didn’t know either. They only knew that their son was lucky not to have any serious problems and brought him home.

An Hao took time off from her classes to pick up the results from the hospital.

After seeing the results, she took a deep breath.

Qin Fen had essentially lost his fertility! The survival rate of his sperm was very low!

If it hadn’t been for this injury, she might never have known about this condition.

After thinking it over, An Hao decided not to tell the Qin family to avoid them having to deal with the consequences.

She kept the lab report and consulted with the doctor.

The doctor told her, it was almost impossible for him to father children, unless a miracle happened.

If she couldn’t accept it, she could choose to supplement his diet for several years and then see if there could be any improvement or if a miracle might occur.

After leaving the hospital, An Hao wrote a letter and mailed the prescription back home.

She had done everything she could, the rest was up to fate.

..................

Now that Qin Fen’s issue was finally resolved, An Hao didn’t want to give them any more worries; she just hoped no new problems would arise, and she could enjoy a few days of peace.

The second semester of her sophomore year was already more than halfway through, and Qin Jian’s training was almost completed.

He would be leaving in a day or two.

An Hao originally planned to spend a couple of days with him, but he turned out to be busy, his comrades had pulled him away to catch up over drinks.

As she sat in her dorm considering whether to go to the lab on Saturday, the door suddenly opened, and Lei Linxuan burst in, excitedly yelling at An Hao, ”An Hao! I have to tell you some great news!”
