Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 779: Chapter 779: Teacher-Student Romance?

”Huge good news? How good can it be?” An Hao looked at Lei Linxuan with a smile, ”Don’t tell me you found a huge sum of money?”

It was rare to see the usually composed Lei Linxuan so excited.

In An Hao’s impression, only Gu Shuangshuang could do something so dramatic.

”No! But it’s almost the same! A pie fell from the sky right onto my head,” Lei Linxuan said excitedly, her cheeks flushed, ”Professor Yan has taken a liking to me.”

”What?” An Hao gasped in surprise.

Even Gu Shuangshuang and Zhang Juan, who walked in together, were shocked.

”Say that again? There’s nothing wrong with my ears, right?” Gu Shuangshuang rushed up, grabbing Lei Linxuan’s arms, ”You’re saying Professor Yan has taken a liking to you? No way, his eyes aren’t blind!”

An Hao: ”Pff~ Shuangshuang, that’s not a nice thing to say. What’s wrong with Lei Linxuan that Professor Yan can’t take a liking to her?”

”Hurry up and tell us! How did Professor Yan confess his feelings to you?” Zhang Juan also became excited.

Teacher-student romance, ah!

And the other person is the tall, handsome, and slightly wicked Yan Ye!

”You’re mistaken! You’re mistaken!” Seeing everyone’s misunderstanding, Lei Linxuan hurriedly explained, ”It’s not that he likes me, he took a liking to my abilities and let me join his research group.”

Zhang Juan: ”Sweat!”

Gu Shuangshuang: ”That news isn’t as explosive as the previous one.”

”Congratulations!” An Hao came forward with joy and hugged Lei Linxuan, ”Someone will be keeping me company. Professor Yan must have seen your hard work and something exceptional in you.”

”That’s right. Professor Yan said I am meticulous and diligent. He seemed quite happy when he ran into me coming out of the library after ten several times,” Lei Linxuan talked on, still excited.

To be valued by Yan Ye wasn’t an easy feat.

Furthermore, there was a quiet rumor around the school. It said that those whom Yan Ye focused on nurturing could all end up in the military region hospital.

You know, they are military medics.

Military first, then doctors.

Upon graduation, they all had to follow the allocations from their superiors to start at the grassroots level, and if lucky, they might return after two or three months of training. If unlucky, they might stay at the grassroots level for a lifetime.

They were studying clinical medicine.

Nobody wanted to spend their life administering injections and IV drips in troops, especially in those remote units; it would be even more miserable.

Everyone hoped to pick up the scalpel, stand under the operating light, and battle with death to save patients’ lives.

”Then let’s work hard together from now on!” An Hao said, tightly holding her hand.

”Speaking of which, I have to thank you! It was your spirit that inspired me,” Lei Linxuan professed her admiration for An Hao.

”Alright, enough with the sappy talk! Since our dorm is full of good news, why don’t we do this: let’s celebrate and relax a bit today, how about that?” Gu Shuangshuang suggested.

”Sure! I’m all for it,” Lei Linxuan said, ”I think my recent performance isn’t bad either, I should reward myself.”

All four agreed, and Gu Shuangshuang immediately proposed: ”Let’s go to the skating rink! A new one recently opened and it’s become popular. There are a lot of people and the prices are reasonable too!”

An Hao hesitated a bit: ”I’ve heard that there’s a mixed crowd there. Could it be unsafe?”

”My dear! You’re twenty years old, you should be doing twenty-year-old things. Look at yourself, you’ve only lived for twenty years but you act like you’ve lived for forty,” Gu Shuangshuang said and started pulling An Hao’s arm out the door, ”Anyone who doesn’t go is my class enemy!”
