Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 750: Chapter 750: The Fool in Your Mouth is Him

”Yan Huan, you tell it!” Li Zhi was very interested.

Yan Huan cleared her throat and said, ”On New Year’s Eve, the phone at my house suddenly rang. At first, I didn’t pick it up, but the guy on the other end was really persistent. Eventually I got annoyed and just answered it. A strange man immediately asked me if I was a girl named ’An Hao.’ Before I could even respond, he rattled on with a whole bunch of stuff. I don’t know what was wrong with his ears, I tried to interject a few times, but he just didn’t catch on. In the end, when he finally realized, he even cursed at me, calling me an old codger! Can you believe this guy? He clearly knew she has a husband...”

Yan Huan went on and on about the idiot caller, while the smile on Li Zhi’s face slowly solidified, and then disappeared.

”What’s the matter with you?” Yan Huan noticed his change in complexion and was somewhat baffled.

”Sister, listening to this, it seems oddly familiar...” Li Zhi gave Cheng Yue a trembling glance, his face turning green, ”Isn’t that right, Cheng Yue?”

Cheng Yue’s teeth were clenched so tightly they could crack with a bit more force.

”What do you call that person on the phone?” Cheng Yue’s voice was ominously calm, a little distorted amidst the loud patter of the rain.

”Idiot!”

”Say it again!”

”Idiot! Idiot! Did you hear me clearly this time? Are you deaf or something?” Yan Huan felt like it was a bit of a chore talking to this guy.

Cheng Yue’s hand, gripping the handlebars, showed bulging veins, and his glance lost its previous dejection, becoming piercing instead.

This is bad! This is really bad!

Li Zhi internally screamed that this was not good!

Cheng Yue was annoyed, and when this little brat got mad, who knows what he might do.

Before Li Zhi could finish the thought, he saw Cheng Yue suddenly pedal fiercely, accelerating the bike, with a trail of water splashing behind him.

”Hey... Cheng Yue, what are you...”

Li Zhi hadn’t finished saying ”what are you doing” when he saw Cheng Yue’s bike suddenly fishtail, and the person on the back seat was thrown off with a whoosh, landing with a thud in a roadside puddle.

Cheng Yue’s bike wobbled a few times, but he managed to stabilize it and started to ride slowly forward without turning back.

”Cheng Yue... you...” Li Zhi was utterly dumbfounded.

This was a PLA warrior, a woman at that! Setting aside the ”PLA” part, wasn’t she still a woman?

So utterly lacking in gentleness!

Yan Huan was suddenly thrown off the bicycle, landing hard in the puddle, completely dazed.

But as she quickly connected the dots, she seemed to understand; could this guy be the one who called the wrong number?

Could such coincidences really happen in this world?

However, this boy named Cheng Yue’s voice didn’t seem that similar to the one on the phone that night!

As she was pondering this, she saw the bike suddenly turn back.

As it passed by her, it sped up, executed a sharp turn and brake, the tail fishtailing past her; a splash of mud and water precisely hit her clean face as if it had eyes.

Being splashed with dirty water twice in a row, Yan Huan was seething with anger!

She climbed out of the mud, grasping at his rear rack, but he fled like a monkey.

”Cheng Yue! Your grandpa’s! Why didn’t you crash and knock yourself out, you little bastard!” Yan Huan cursed vehemently.

”Yan Huan, sister! The ’idiot’ you’re talking about is him! It’s him!” Li Zhi kindly reminded her a few times, then quickly pedaled off to give chase.

Yan Huan was so angry she could only glare helplessly, stomping her foot in frustration!

Today was really not a good day to go out!
