Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 736: Chapter 736 Where to Stay Tonight

Qin Jian’s head didn’t even twitch as his left hand formed a large palm that tightly wrapped around the fist, rendering it completely immobile.

At the same time, his right hand balled into a fist and with sixty percent of his strength, he fiercely punched Overlord’s face.

”Ah—!” A scream was heard.

Overlord staggered several steps backward, and with a snap, he fell to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood with a puff, which also contained two teeth.

”Damn it! It hurts so much... I...” He lay on the ground, groaning in pain.

The street thugs who had been fighting alongside him became fearful at this sight, none daring to step forward.

Qin Jian crouched down, his large palm open: ”For the medical bills.”

Some people just won’t be honest until they’ve been hit, then they’re honest right away.

This time, Overlord quickly took out fifty dollars from his pocket and handed it to Qin Jian with both hands: ”Here... Big brother, take it all, keep the change.”

Qin Jian took the money, stood up, and said to Overlord: ”South Street Overlord! I’ll remember that!”

Then he left with Qin Fen and Song Yueqin, walking out of the crowd.

Seeing Qin Fen’s face covered in blood, Qin Jian furrowed his brows and took a deep breath: ”Let’s go to the hospital first!”

Even though he had been rescued by Qin Jian, Qin Fen was still full of dissatisfaction: ”Brother, they beat up your little brother like this, and you let them off that easily? Aren’t you supposed to be tough? You should have crippled that damn dog for good.”

Qin Jian stopped, his piercing gaze fixed on Qin Fen: ”Didn’t you see what they are? They’re street bullies with strength in numbers. Why did you mess with them? There’s more than one light there, why did you even come here to pick a fight?”

”Exactly, a wise man does not court danger. I’ve been shouting for so long, but he just wouldn’t listen.” Song Yueqin complained from the side.

”That was all for you! That lantern was better than the others, wasn’t it what you said?”

”I...”

”Enough. Stop arguing.” Qin Jian naturally knew the character of the couple, but as their brother, he couldn’t just stand by and do nothing.

After all, he had grown up with them since childhood, he couldn’t just let others bully them, could he?

Song Yueqin, having witnessed Qin Jian’s more assertive side, felt her heart pounding. Originally, after getting married, she and Qin Fen couldn’t stand the solitude at home, which was why they had come to the city for fun.

They had watched a movie, visited a park, and upon hearing about the lantern market, had deliberately chosen not to leave.

They never expected to encounter such an incident. Originally thinking it was bad luck, they hadn’t expected to run into Qin Jian, which could be considered a stroke of luck amidst the misfortune, right?

With her own thoughts, she then quietly supported Qin Fen and followed behind Qin Jian.

Looking at his tall figure, the clearly defined profile of his face, and his cold gaze, her heart was greatly satisfied.

At the hospital, the doctor examined Qin Fen.

Thick cotton clothes worn in winter meant that the punches and kicks didn’t cause substantial harm, just some superficial wounds.

Since the face was exposed, the wounds were concentrated there.

After receiving a few stitches and some medicine, they left the hospital.

The three of them went out to the main street, and Qin Fen, holding his sore face, said to Qin Jian: ”Brother, where are Yueqin and I going to stay tonight?”

”Where were you planning to stay originally?” Qin Jian asked.

”A hotel.”

”Fine. Then stay at a hotel.”

Qin Fen: ”...” If possible, he didn’t want to stay at the hotel.

Naturally, Song Yueqin didn’t want to stay at a hotel either. Being able to stay under the same roof as Qin Jian was preferable by far.

So, she nudged Qin Fen and said: ”Isn’t that a silly question? Now that we’re in the city, Big Brother will naturally take us home. How could he possibly let us stay at a hotel?”
