Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 738: Chapter 738 The Little Wife is Angry

”And you don’t see how An Hao treats my brother?” Although Qin Fen loathed An Hao, he couldn’t help but feel incredibly envious every time he thought of the way An Hao looked at Qin Jian.

In An Hao’s eyes, his brother was like a godly figure.

But in Song Yueqin’s eyes, his image seemed not as good as it was before they got married.

This woman always seemed to want to ride roughshod over him.

Where had the tenderness and coquettish charm she displayed before their marriage gone?

”Then you should first take a look at whether you’re half as good as your brother!” Song Yueqin was unforgiving, she really looked down on Qin Fen.

Marrying Qin Fen was just a convenient solution for her.

”Stop talking, I’m really annoyed!” Qin Fen didn’t want to hear about Qin Jian being better than him.

”Annoyed as you might be, I have to say it. I think we can’t go back home tomorrow, not with your face all bruised. Our parents would be worried, wouldn’t they? Besides, even if they don’t invite us over, we should still visit them when we come to the city! They can be unreasonable, but we can’t be impolite.” Song Yueqin cunningly cajoled Qin Fen.

As it happened, he wanted to go too, and the two of them, being of a like mind, quickly agreed on the matter.

Now that he had spoken his mind, Qin Fen felt much happier, and he just wanted to cuddle with his wife and go to sleep.

The moment the light went out, he became restless and turned over to press down on Song Yueqin, reaching out to tug at her underwear.

”What are you doing! Can’t you just stay calm for one day?”

”Let me have you just once.”

”Have, have, have! That’s all you know! Can’t you see what your face looks like?”

”Nonsense! Didn’t I marry a wife for pleasure? I’m your husband, when I say I want you, you should let me have you!”

..................

Qin Jian arrived home late, and when he pushed open the door, he saw Zhang Yun and Ning Yibin watching television in the living room.

”You’re back? Why so late?” Ning Yibin asked, ”What’s the matter? Was there a lot to do on your first day of reporting?”

”Not much. I met a few comrades and had a couple of drinks,” Qin Jian replied as he took off his military cap and hung it on the coat rack.

”Weren’t you supposed to take An Hao out? She’s been waiting for you all evening.” Zhang Yun glanced upstairs and spoke in a low voice, ”I think she’s not in a good mood, you should go up and comfort her.”

”Okay.” Qin Jian cut short the small talk with his parents and quickly went upstairs.

When he opened the door, An Hao was sitting at the desk organizing some books for the next day, with a bowl of cold herbal concoction beside her.

”Haven’t gone to sleep yet?” Qin Jian asked.

”Yeah! I was waiting for you to take me to the lantern fair!” An Hao said indifferently, not stopping her task of sticking labels on the books for a moment.

Qin Jian sensed something was off in her words and thought about how his young wife could become so easily upset.

He approached her and looked down at An Hao, indeed, her complexion was off.

She seemed to be sulking.

”What’s wrong, wife? Are you really mad at me?” Qin Jian said with a smile, ”I apologize for coming home late today.”

”Tch! Who cares about your apology.” An Hao glared at him and pushed the dark bowl of medicine toward him, ”If you drink it, I won’t be mad anymore.”

Qin Jian realized she wasn’t actually angry with him; that wasn’t the real issue.

The bowl of medicine was the crux of the matter.

So he sat down and asked, ”What’s up? You don’t want to drink the medicine anymore?”

An Hao frowned, ”Mom took me to the hospital today to get a new prescription. She thinks three to five months is too slow and asked Dr. Wang to adjust the treatment. Now, instead of twice a day, I have to drink it three times. It’s become so bitter, I’m almost sick of it. Qin Jian, I now want to have a child for you, but can we not do it this way? I’m really going to throw up.”

Seeing his young wife’s face wrinkling like a bitter melon, Qin Jian smiled, ”Don’t rush, I have a good idea! Do you want to try it?”
