Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 715: Chapter 715: Won’t Break Up with Him

”Can the looks in both your eyes get any nastier?” Gu Shuangshuang furrowed her brows, looked left and right at her parents, and pointing to her own face, said, ”My face is here, if you want to slap it, then slap! If not, just forget it! I’m tired and want to go to sleep now.”

”Gu Yishan, look at your daughter! This is her attitude toward both of us.” Duan Aihua was heartbroken, for Gu Shuangshuang wasn’t like this as a child.

She was clever, quick-witted, and lovable, always greeting people with a smile, speaking with not a word out of place.

At such a young age, she could even outdo adults, but why did she end up like this after growing up?

The words she utters are enough to choke a person to death, she insists on saying exactly what should not be said!

”Duan, let’s talk about the serious matters first,” Gu Yishan didn’t want to discuss the issue of their daughter’s attitude with Duan Aihua and directly steered the conversation to the main topic.

”Gu Shuangshuang, we’ll go to the train station and take a train tomorrow, you’ll spend this New Year with me.” Duan Aihua paused and then continued, ”That Tian Niu fellow, I suggest you break up with him! Just thinking about his family’s future living conditions makes me worry for you!”

”No! I won’t break up with him,” Gu Shuangshuang refused decisively, ”You don’t understand him, much less his living environment. I see people differently from you, I don’t care about external conditions, I only know that I like him. I hope to be with him, I want a regular stable family. After I graduate, I’ll go find him to become a PLA family member. I won’t return to that mountain village, rest assured on that.”

”Village children have too many aunts and uncles, as you say, Tian Niu’s family has just this one promising son. Once you two start a family, won’t all his relatives want to take refuge in your house? Can you handle that pile of troublesome matters?” Duan Aihua was most worried about this, she hadn’t had it easy marrying into the Gu family.

With her daughter, she would say anything to prevent Gu Shuangshuang from following in her footsteps.

”Duan Aihua, can’t you speak properly? Why do you keep going off-topic?” Gu Yishan didn’t like her words, but he also didn’t want to argue with her, ”What we should be discussing now is to let Gu Shuangshuang bring out the person she likes, we both take a look, and if that kid has no issues, and if Shuangshuang is willing, then let them be together.”

”Really?” Gu Shuangshuang’s listless spirits finally picked up, ”Okay! Dad, give me a bit of time, I’ll have Second Sister send him a message, he will definitely come chasing after.”

”Alright.” For Gu Yishan, more than the family’s conditions, it was the person himself that mattered, after all, he too was a child from a poor family, ”I’m not leaving in the next few days, I’ll stay here. Until your matter is settled, then I’ll return to the troops.”

”Dad! You’re the best!” Gu Shuangshuang leaned askew against Gu Yishan’s shoulder, wrapping her arms around his arm and saying, ”You trust my judgment! You believe that in the ranks of the PLA, each and every one is a man of fervent blood!”

”Mm,” Gu Yishan lifted his hand to touch Gu Shuangshuang’s hair, it was rare for his daughter to be so close, he didn’t want to go against her wishes, ”I trust my daughter’s judgment.”

Seeing her ex-husband and daughter quickly come to an agreement, Duan Aihua felt a tinge of discomfort in her heart, ”Gu Yishan! I didn’t ask you to come here to support her unprincipledly. You still trust her, what do you trust about her? Your daughter lied to us, running off with a man without a word. Just for that, you should properly discipline her! Besides, after staying for so many days, has she or hasn’t she... with that man...”
