Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 723: Chapter 723: Damn it!

”You’re just realizing it now?” Yan Huan cocked her lip, mocking him, ”Oh my, what an innocent little boy! First love... such a beautiful term.”

Upon closer listening, Cheng Yue realized the voice and tone were definitely not An Hao’s, and he burst out angrily, ”Who the hell are you? Damn it! If you’re not An Hao, what right do you have to answer this phone? Have you no shame, no sense of decency?”

Yan Huan, hearing the other party curse at her in a frenzy, refused to show weakness, ”Damn it! Find out you’ve got the wrong person and now you’re throwing a tantrum? Next time make sure you dial the right number before you call!”

Having said that, Yan Huan slammed the receiver down onto the cradle with a clatter.

Doot doot doot doot~

Busy tone noises came through from the other end, and Cheng Yue, infuriated, also clicked the phone off sharply.

”Eh? Dialed the wrong number?” Li Zhi leaned in to ask, ”Then why talk to them for so long? Didn’t you realize the person on the other end didn’t sound like your junior sister?”

Cheng Yue saw Li Zhi sprawled across the table, wearing a sleazy grin, and felt his anger rise uncontrollably. He cocked his fist to punch Li Zhi, ”Li Zhi, damn you! On New Year’s Eve, you had to open the window and make a racket, didn’t you? Do you have any idea? If it weren’t for the relentless fireworks, I wouldn’t have misheard.”

”There weren’t any fireworks just now!” Li Zhi, dodging with his head in his arms, protested, ”Didn’t you just say it looked beautiful outside with the snow? That’s why I opened the window.”

”That still doesn’t make it right!” Cheng Yue grabbed the guy who was scampering all around the room and flung him onto the bed, climbed on top, and started pummeling him, ”I told you to ask Gu Shuangshuang for her number. Is this the number you got for me? What kind of crap is this? Are you doing this on purpose just to amuse yourself at my expense?”

”As if I’d dare fool you!” Li Zhi quickly grabbed a blanket to cover his head, ”If it’s wrong, it’s probably Gu Shuangshuang who remembered it incorrectly! It definitely couldn’t be me fooling you!”

Upon hearing this, Cheng Yue found it made a lot of sense.

He let go of Li Zhi and kicked him hard in the butt, ”Get back there! Go ask Gu Shuangshuang properly, what the heck is going on?”

”Okay, okay! I’m going now! Just cool off, will you?” Li Zhi said, covering the butt he had been kicked in as he went downstairs.

Cheng Nanfang was sitting in the living room reading the newspaper.

Seeing Li Zhi’s state, he knew his damn son had bullied someone again, so he closed the paper and asked, ”Li Zhi, did Cheng Yue bully you again?”

”Cheng Uncle, you truly have keen eyes...” Li Zhi hadn’t finished his sentence when he saw Cheng Yue swaggering down from upstairs – he quickly changed his words, ”Although you have keen eyes, you are mistaken this time. I’m getting along just fine with Cheng Yue, right?”

Cheng Yue couldn’t be bothered with him, and Li Zhi slinked away, looking dejected.

”Cheng Yue, you’re becoming more and more insufferable!” Cheng Nanfeng scowled at his son, ”You can’t always use my higher rank than Li Zhi’s father as an excuse to keep bullying people! How many times have I told you this?”

Cheng Yue rolled his eyes at Cheng Nanfang and, ignoring his father, took an apple from the table and began crunching away at it.

”Did you hear what I said?” Cheng Nanfang, seeing his son’s attitude, grabbed the young rascal by the ear in irritation, ”Are you deaf? Did you hear me talking?”
