Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 737: Chapter 737: Continue Fanning the Flames

Qin Fen’s eyes lit up, ”Really?”

”There’s no space at home,” Qin Jian said simply without further explanation.

Of course, he couldn’t possibly bring them back to his place; An Hao and Song Yueqin didn’t get along, and he personally didn’t like this sister-in-law either.

Just one look at her eyes, and it was obvious her intentions were not pure.

Moreover, though his mother Zhang Yun had been touched by Qin Ru Hai’s sacrificing rescue, prompting her to wipe away past grievances,

it didn’t mean she could tolerate this younger brother living under the same roof.

To avoid unnecessary trouble, it was better to settle them somewhere outside.

”Big brother, you’re not unwilling to let us visit your home, are you? Besides, it’s bad not to stop by the house when we come to the city,” Song Yueqin said, smiling.

Qin Jian didn’t follow up, simply asking Qin Fen casually, ”Have you had dinner?”

”Yes,” Qin Fen said, clutching his aching cheek.

”Mm,” and then silence followed.

Seeing that Qin Jian was completely ignoring her, Song Yueqin’s face flushed with annoyance, and she couldn’t help but squeeze the hand she was holding Qin Fen’s with a little too tightly.

Qin Fen suddenly yelled out, ”Why are you pinching me?”

”As if I’d bother to pinch you!” Song Yueqin glared at him.

Qin Jian took them to a hotel, registered a room, and took them upstairs.

He gave them the medicine and the remaining money, ”Get some rest early. If there’s nothing else tomorrow, head back home. Don’t cause any more trouble outside; our parents at home will worry.”

Qin Fen nodded irritably, ”I know. Brother, are you not coming tomorrow?”

”No, I won’t. I’m starting a training program tomorrow. I probably won’t have time to see you off!”

”Alright, then. Brother, it’s getting late, you should go,” Qin Fen said.

After Qin Jian left, by the time he doubled back, the lights of the market had already gone out.

Helplessly, he had to go back alone; just not sure if his broken promise today would upset his little wife.

After Qin Jian left, Song Yueqin felt somewhat uncomfortable.

Seeing Qin Fen sitting on the bed smoking, she went up to him and pinched him, ”Stop smoking, it’s not good for your health.”

”I’m feeling irritated,” Qin Fen retorted.

Song Yueqin laughed and sat down beside Qin Fen, fanning the flames, ”I’m not happy either. Look at your brother, he just doesn’t want us in his house. Didn’t Song Fei say? The military’s Commander lives in a nice two-story house, with plenty of rooms, right? I bet he just looks down on his poor brother. Even if he were to let us stay, couldn’t he find a better place? At the very least, we could have stayed at the Friendship Hotel. How much money does the An Family make? Could An Hao’s hands ever lack money? Your brother is now a staff officer, his monthly salary is almost two hundred, isn’t it? I think he just doesn’t like us.”

”Shut your damn mouth!” Qin Fen was annoyed by her words, ”Do you think I can’t see it? After all, our dad saved her mother!”

Song Yueqin was scolded by Qin Fen and fell silent.

Seeing his wife had stopped talking, Qin Fen turned his head and looked at her, ”You gone mute?”

”You’re the one who’s gone mute,” Song Yueqin, seeing Qin Fen actually swear at her when he got angry, felt her own temper flare, raised her hand, and slapped him on the face, ”This ’stinky mouth’ of mine, how dare you kiss it? Have the guts not to stick your thing near it tonight!”

Qin Fen’s face was already in pain, and after receiving a slap from Song Yueqin, he felt like exploding, but seeing Song Yueqin angry, his own anger suddenly died down.

But as a man, he couldn’t allow her to slap him around all the time.

So, he warned Song Yueqin, ”You’re not allowed to hit me again! You can use your mouth all you want, but if you lay hands on me again, I won’t be polite anymore.”

”Fine. Look at you act so tough, only knowing how to be bossy with your wife. Why don’t you learn from your big brother? Take a look at how he dotes on his wife,” Song Yueqin cursed him angrily.
