For a moment, the Lord of Reincarnation seemed lost in thought. Then, the corner of his lips involuntarily curled upward, forming a faintly amused smile.

He was still in a relatively better position.

The Dao Lineage of the Underworld had always been known for its strange and elusive methods and their countless secret techniques.

And now, this ancient Dao Lineage had awakened at the dawn of this new era, granting them a slight advantage.

However, the same could not be said for the other archaic lineages that were still slumbering.

When those successors of those lineages eventually emerged, and discovered that this era had already birthed beings such as the Demon Emperor and the Lord of the Void, they would likely find themselves despairing, perhaps even wishing for death.

After all, a step behind, and each step thereafter would fall further still.

Even if those Dao Lineages were unimaginably profound, contending with Chosen Ones of the Era like Yu Zi Yu and the Lord of the Void would be anything but simple.

“Jade Pool… Nuwa Palace… I can hardly wait to see the look on your faces when your Dao Lineages awaken…” A soft chuckle escaped his lips, as his eyes shimmered with anticipation.

However, he knew that this was not the time to revel in such thoughts. His smile deepened slightly, and the young figure seated upon the dark throne murmured, “I must enter seclusion. Otherwise, I’ll lose even the right to glimpse the Demon Emperor’s back.”

As his voice faded, his form began to rotate, twisting upon itself until it became a vast vortex, dark as a black hole, hanging suspended above the grand hall.

Faintly, wisps of indescribable energy began to spread through the air, permeating the world.

…

However, the reemergence of the Underworld was only the beginning.

This era hid far too many unknowns, far too many secrets waiting to awaken.

After all, the universe was boundless and immeasurable.

Who could guarantee that, somewhere in the endless firmament, another ancient Dao Lineage would not soon stir from its slumber?

This was precisely what Yu Zi Yu feared most.

He did not wish for the day to come when, standing unrivaled beneath the Heavens and basking in his glory, a succession of ancient terrors would suddenly emerge to besiege him.

Thus, keeping a low profile was essential.

At least, his True Form could not be too ostentatious. If a show of dominance was required, that duty would fall to his other self—the Soaring Purple Dragon.

Only when that incarnation drew the eyes of Myriad Races would Yu Zi Yu’s True Body remain safe in the shadows.

…

Time flowed quietly by, and two years had gone by in the blink of an eye.

Then one day, in a mysterious corner of the cosmos…

*Boooom…booooom…* A dreadful aura swept through space, shaking the very fabric of space itself.

This aura was unimaginably terrifying, to the point that it felt as if it could raze the entire universe.

Adding more to the dread, light and shadows intertwined with each other, as everything began to grow blurry.

That was the mark of Time and Space overlapping.

It was the manifestation of Yu Zi Yu’s latest Divine Ability he had developed during two centuries of refining his Spiritual Energy.

Of course, these two centuries were only relative to him. Only two years had passed by in the universe.

And this was the terror of manipulating time.

A smile crept across Yu Zi Yu’s lips, as he couldn’t help but feel smug.

What two years meant to others was equivalent to two centuries for him. One could imagine what this meant: He had gained two centuries of cultivation over his peers.

Unfortunately, such temporal acceleration could only be applied to refining Spiritual Energy, not to actual comprehension of the Principles.

The process of purifying Spiritual Energy was tedious and time-consuming, yet it required no profound insights in Principles, making it perfectly suited for temporal acceleration.

However, true cultivation was different. It depended on harmonizing with Heaven and Earth, and interacting with the Spiritual Energy flowing within it.

Hastening this process forcefully would not only yield diminishing returns, but might even bring harm.

Thus, the acceleration of time was best reserved for the refinement of Spiritual energy, or perhaps to hasten growth within a Small World.

After all, a Small World was self-contained. Even if its time was accelerated, it would not disrupt its balance, and thus, it would not affect cultivation.

It was because of this reason Yu Zi Yu planned to use one of the Nine Realms for time acceleration, thereby mass-producing soldiers.

He was not aiming for pushing their cultivation for Tier-5 or Tier-6, just to Tier-4.

After all, at Tier-4 and beyond, the cultivation focused on comprehending Heaven and Earth. And if one were to hasten time at that level, it would bring more harm than good.

However, below Tier-4, things are different. Those realms focused purely on tempering the body and cultivating Spiritual Energy, rarely touching upon the abstruse mysteries of Principles.

However, one thing was certain, experiencing time acceleration came with its cons.

Traces of Time would be imprinted upon them, which may even affect one’s lifespan.

.

That, too, was one of the hidden dangers of meddling with time.

At this moment, a faint curve tugged at Yu Zi Yu’s lips, while his gaze suddenly sharpened.

*Booooom…*

Amid the sudden rumble, a line of text appeared before his eyes.

Divine Ability: Spacetime Rupture! By violently severing Time and Space, the user can access overlapping timelines and perform a localized jump ten seconds into the past. Upon arrival, the user not only occupies their prior position but fully regains their prior state. All spent Spiritual Energy is restored, and injuries are mended anew.

This was the second Divine Ability Yu Zi Yu had comprehended, Spacetime Rupture. It was an extremely terrifying and bizarre ability.

In the eyes of others, Yu Zi Yu’s figure would merely flicker and vanish.

However, only Yu Zi Yu could perceive the true change.

In that fleeting instant, everything about him would begin to reverse. The reversal of time would return every part of his being to ten seconds before.

And just how fearsome was that? If struck by a fatal blow, he could evade it entirely through this technique.

Even if grievously wounded, he could restore himself to his former state in an instant.

This… was the intertwining of space and time.

At that moment, if one looked closely behind Yu Zi Yu, they would even see a hazy silhouette trailing him, like an afterimage or a shadow.

It was his own image from ten seconds past.

This was the mark of his Divine Ability, visible only to Yu Zi Yu himself.

Whenever he invoked this Divine Ability, everything about him would reverse, flowing onto this mark of intertwined Time and Space.

And as the price, the imprint would vanish for a time, until he forged it anew.
