*Crack…*

A sharp, snapping sound echoed through the Heavens, and the faces of every God turned ashen.

Because in that instant… one of the World Tree’s colossal roots, buried deep within the starry void, had been bitten clean through by that terrifying Dragon.

However, that was not the end.

*Rooooaar…* A thunderous Dragon Roar tore through the cosmos as Yu Zi Yu’s massive form coiled around the World Tree like a divine serpent wrapping its prey.

*Booooom, booooom…* Terrifying rumbles echoed, shaking Heaven and Earth.

The Gods gaped in disbelief, because that colossal Dragon, the monstrous being bathing in violet, was actually trying to uproot the entire World Tree.

By the looks of it… it intended to take it away into the Void.

[[Impossible!]]

That was the thought screaming in every God’s mind.

The World Tree was the root of the God Race’s nine realms.

How could they allow it to be taken away?

If it were stolen, their entire God Race would have no place to go.

To the Gods, this was unthinkable. Unacceptable.

Even the mighty King of Gods and the Pantheon Lords could not allow such blasphemy to stand.

“Arise, the Hearthstone of Civilization…” A furious bellow escaped the King of Gods, and his hair flared like molten gold, as he unleashed his wraith

Hearthstone of Civilization, it was the supreme foundation of the God Race. It was the key to the propagation and inheritance of a civilization.

An Imperial Artifact was but one form of heritage of a civilization, used predominantly for warfare.

But apart from that, there was another kind of heritage, called inheritance.

And now…

*Boooooom…* Accompanied by an extremely terrifying roar, the all nine realms on the World Tree blazed with blinding radiance.

At the same time, across the Heavens, strange patterns like runes, magic circle, and constellations ignited, weaving into a vast and intricate tapestry that pulsed with Divine Energy.

It was the Genesis Star Chart, the God Race’s ultimate heritage, an extremely ancient and terrifying inheritance.

As the glowing star chart blanketed the skies, one after another, countless Gods raised their right hands toward it.

*Booooom, booooom, boooooom…*

One after another, deafening rumbles shook the skies as endless Divine Energy surged into the star chart.

Then…

*Booooom…* A majestic explosion, enough to shake the very stars, rumbled, and dazzling starlight lit up the entire Realm of Gods.

Immediately afterward, from the heart of the star chart, a towering figure, woven from endless starlight, emerged.

The figure’s face was indistinguishable, and in its hands gleamed a colossal axe that seemed to divide Heaven and Earth.

The moment this figure appeared, even Yu Zi Yu felt a chill crawl down his colossal spine.

“So this… is the heritage of the God Race…” he muttered to himself, his gaze narrowing at the figure wielding the giant axe with rare solemnity.

The figure radiated an utterly terrifying aura, to the point that it could rival a Hegemon’s.

And even more terrifying was that colossal axe in the figure’s hand. Its edge radiate a spine-chilling sharpness that could cut through anything, every law and creation.

This was another legendary Primordial Imperial Artifact, the Axe of Creation.

Although it was merely a projection, it still possessed a fraction of its former strength, around one hundred thousandth of its peak strength, and that was more than enough to shake the cosmos.

*Hoooo…* Yu Zi Yu exhaled slowly, his chest rising with tension.

He had not expected the God Race to possess such a hidden trump card.

However, after giving it another thought, it made sense.

As an ancient and established civilization that had endured since the dawn of time, how could it not have such terrifying means.

At that moment, the calm, familiar voice of Anzuiel rang in Yu Zi Yu’s mind, “You’ve actually forced the Gods this far, haven’t you?”

“What do you mean?” Yu Zi Yu asked, slightly puzzled.

“The technique they’re using now…” Anzuiel’s voice echoed again in Yu Zi Yu’s mind, carrying a strange amusement, “it’s one of those methods that might annihilate their enemies, but it would also inflict a devastating toll on them. Essentially…they are sacrificing themselves. The Angels have something similar. But the price is steep. When the God Race uses it, their vitality will suffer greatly. Many of their Gods will likely fall into deep slumber once this ends.”

Despite his amused tone, Anzuiel was undeniably shocked, shocked by Yu Zi Yu’s level of growth in such a short period, that he could corner the entire God Race into resorting to this.

Furthermore, this was not even his True Body, it was merely one of his Avatars.

If the Purple Dragon Form and his True Body acted together… they might very well erase the God Race from existence.

Of course, that was impossible.

And unnecessary.

Yu Zi Yu was never one to act recklessly.

He was the guy behind the scenes, who plotted from the shadows. He preferred to grow in silence, to evolve and wait… until he could grow into a behemoth who could move the eras themselves with a single wave of his hand.

…

Hearing this, Yu Zi Yu’s expression shifted slightly to surprise.

“Sacrifice, huh…” He murmured to himself, the corner of his lips curling with faint amusement.

[In that case, there’s no reason for me to engage with this projection in a direct confrontation. Such desperate measures carry nothing but needless risk. And even if I overpowered it by force, the outcome would still be messy and pointless. Besides…] Yu Zi Yu’s eyes gleamed and a smile danced upon his lips as a surge of pride welled up within him.

“My purpose has already been achieved.” Raising his Dragon Head, he turned his gaze toward the swirling violet vortex high above the Heavens.

*Rooooar…* Giving out a thunderous roar, his colossal form twisted midair.

Before the stunned eyes of countless Gods, the fearsome Dragon who had moments ago seemed unstoppable suddenly wheeled around, soaring upward toward the endless violet whirlpool above the sky.

“What’s going on?”

“Why is he leaving?”

Confused cries spread through the ranks of the God Race.

Those who had been pouring Divine Energy into the Genesis Star Chart froze one after another.

If the Dragon truly retreated, there was no longer any need for them to keep losing their Quintessence and pour their Divine Energy.

And so, in an instant, everyone stopped.

Even the King of Gods, standing atop the Pantheon, stared blankly at the retreating Purple Dragon.

[It had come charging with such monstrous momentum, and now, it’s simply leaving!? Why? What’s it planning?]

Before any answer could take shape…

*Booooom…Booooom…* Thunderous rumbles reverberated across the starry skies.

Every God turned their gaze upward in horror as the World Tree, which upheld the nine realms, began to tremble violently.

*Booooom…Boooooom…* The rumbles grew increasingly loud and terrifying. Its countless branches swayed and its massive trunk quivered incessantly, as leaves cascaded down like rain. It appeared as if the colossal tree were trying to shake something loose.

“What… what is happening!?” One of the Gods gasped, his pupils shrinking in shock.

Because, before his astonished and horrified eyes, a faint violet light began to spread through the vast trunk of the World Tree.

Adding more to the dread, the World Tree, which was originally devoid of consciousness, seemed to come alive. Its bark rippled like skin. A mysterious rhythm pulsed within it, and an indescribable aura began to spread.

*Booooom…* Amidst a deafening crash, two colossal eyes, vast, ancient, and unfathomably deep, slowly opened upon the World Tree’s trunk.

Ancient Tree Awakening, it was a dreadful ability awakened by Yu Zi Yu after he transformed into the Progenitor of the Divine Trees.

However, to conceal his hand, Yu Zi Yu had channeled the Void Energy through his Purple Dragon Form, infusing it into the World Tree.

Thus, it appeared as though the Purple Dragon had corrupted the World Tree, transforming it into a Void World Tree.
