“So you’re saying… if I draw near, the Spear of Fate will sense it?” Yu Zi Yu murmured softly, staring thoughtfully at the crimson cross etched into the back of his hand.

Amid the pulsing, its scarlet unyielding light grew ever more brilliant.

As he noticed this, Yu Zi Yu’s eyes gleamed faintly with intrigue.

“Yes…” Rahiel admitted with a nod, “That is one of the Spear of Fate’s innate abilities. I only learned of it from the memories I inherited.”

“I see…” Yu Zi Yu’s lips curled upward, a slow, knowing smile rising upon his face.

[If that’s really the case, then things will get really interesting.]

All this while, he had been wondering how to bait the Myriad Races of the universe into his trap.

And now, this mark offered him precisely that chance.

If the spear could truly sense him through this imprint, then with just a little preparation, he could make the Myriad Races take the bait themselves.

At that point, with the combined might of two Hegemons, Rahiel and his Soaring Purple Dragon Form, they could crush the combined forces of all Races in one decisive sweep.

And that wouldn’t be the end of it.

Afterward, his True Body would timely make an appearance and stop this so-called Void Calamity, which would propel his reputation to unimaginable heights.

Perhaps even high enough to be revered by all Races.

“Ha ha ha…” Laughter thundered through the Void, as Yu Zi Yu’s plan became increasingly clear.

“When I master the One Qi Transforms into Three Pure Ones… I can sweep through the entire universe, and crush all the Races…” His voice, brimming with pride and confidence, revealed Yu Zi Yu’s undisguised ambition.

Normally, Yu Zi Yu would never allow such arrogance to surface. He was too cautious for that.

But now, with another Hegemon at his side, and not just any Hegemon, but the World Tree itself, a being that could stand alone against entire legions, he couldn’t contain himself.

Rahiel was, in truth, a weapon of war incarnate. With his strength, he could annihilate armies by the millions, even withstand the assault of several Imperial Artifacts simultaneously.

With such power on his side, who could possibly stand in his way?

As for why Yu Zi Yu’s True Body remained hidden, why it did not join with the Soaring Purple Dragon and Rahiel to sweep across the universe, that was naturally his final trump card.

No one could say for sure whether the Myriad Races had their own secret weapons in reserve.

More importantly, even if Yu Zi Yu unleashed his full strength and toppled them all, so what?

The cosmos was far too vast. Countless lives multiplied and thrived in it. It was impossible to subjugate in full, at least the current him could not.

Not even the Demon Court, nor the Void Clan, possessed the means to truly unify the stars.

Even if Yu Zi Yu were to defeat all Races, he could only do so in parts—A race here, a galaxy there.

And worse still, if his true identity were revealed, he would instantly become the common enemy of all Races.

As the saying went: ‘It’s not the thief you fear stealing, but the one who never stops watching.’

Even one as mighty as Yu Zi Yu could not afford to be coveted by all creation.

Even the Heaven-Connecting Divine Tree, whose strength was enough to sweep through the universe, fell.

Thus, hiding in the shadows, or even rising to become the acknowledged leader of all was the wisest path forward for Yu Zi Yu.

“Until my influence extends across the cosmos, until I can truly unite the Myriad Races, even if I crush them and plunder their wealth, the spoils will still be limited,” he muttered to himself, and a new found clarity settled within him.

[For now, I’ll use the Void Clan and his Purple Dragon Form as my blades to instil fear across the cosmos..]

At the thought of this, he couldn’t help but be filled with pride.

Just one of his forms could force all the Races to unite in fear, that was really terrifying.

And to think that it was only one of his forms..

Furthermore, compared to his True Body, the Soaring Purple Dragon was still a level below.

No, not just a level, but perhaps even two.

A faint smile tugged at the corners of his humanoid Purple Dragon Form’s lips. At the same time, the figure draped in imperial robes, seated high upon the throne of the Demon Court, also smiled.

Then…

*Boooooom…* Accompanied by a thunderous tremor, the space around him blurred into a haze, as ripples of time began to spread outward.

Unknowingly, his True Body had once again stepped into another Spacetime Dimension..

And within this realm…

*Boooom, boooom…* Amid the rolling thunder, a colossal tree, so vast it eclipsed the sky and dwarfed even the World Tree, rose heavenward.

“Time as the medium… space as the bridge…” He murmured softly, and beneath him, a boundless river rose from beneath Yu Zi Yu’s True Form, like a true Dragon, surging toward Yu Zi Yu’s vast canopy.

That was the eternal River of Time.

And currently, under Yu Zi Yu’s will, it began to take form, emerging from the unseen depths of existence.

In that moment, his consciousness was drawn into the current.

*Booooom…* A deafening roar filled his mind as countless visions burst forth, fragments of eras long past, the fading brilliance of bygone epochs.

The River of Time too had a beginning and an end, spanning the entirety of all creation.

And now, Yu Zi Yu sought to gaze into its depths, to peer at the very origin of the starry skies, to glimpse the secrets long veiled by the cosmos.

And why risk such a feat?

The answer was simple, to elevate his state of mind to a higher realm.

*Hoooooo…* Yu Zi Yu exhaled a long, deep breath, his body trembling slightly.

The drain on his Spiritual Energy was immense, so much that even he found it difficult to endure.

However, the rewards were equally profound.

As he steadied his breath, one could sense it, his aura had changed, now carrying the weight of ancientness, the vastness of eternity itself.

Only a few breaths had passed, yet it felt as though centuries. No, millennia, had slipped by.

Such was the terror of the River of Time.

If he could traverse it without losing himself, Yu Zi Yu’s weakest point, his state of mind would likely improve dramatically, tempered into steel.

Yu Zi Yu’s flaw had always been this, his growth was too rapid, his rise too dazzling, leaving little room for depth.

The ancient Hegemons of bygone eras had cultivated for thousands of years, some even tens of thousands, and even hundreds of thousands of years.

These Hegemons possessed more than just breathtaking vast Spiritual Energy.

Their state of mind had been weathered by time, and was virtually unshakeable by outsiders.

Thus, they were stronger than the current Yu Zi Yu; it was not their combat power that was strong, but their state of mind.

‘

Yu Zi Yu was still too young for a Hegemon. His strength may be beyond comprehension, but his heart had yet to endure the erosion of ages.

But now, he had taken another path, standing within the River of Time, gazing back upon the cosmos.

With a smirk curling across his lips, Yu Zi Yu couldn’t help but marvel at his own audacity.

After all, the River of Time was not something just anyone could touch.

One wrong move, and even a Hegemon could lose themselves forever.

However, the thought of the unimaginable gains it offered made Yu Zi Yu’s lips curve higher.

Compared to the fear of being lost, he preferred the thrill of tangible growth.
