However, right at this moment, a pleasant voice suddenly rang in his mind.

“Are you scared?”

It was like a girl whispering in his ears, extremely tempting, but it terrified him to the core.

*Gulp* Swallowing hard, his body gradually stiffened. Then, as he slowly turned his head, Li San saw a very beautiful woman, propping up her chin, looking at him playfully.

There was no denying that she was extremely beautiful. A delicate oval face with a smooth and shiny skin like porcelain. And now, her pair of clear and sparkling eyes, twinkling like the stars, were keenly appraising him with curiosity.

However, looking at this woman, Li San’s pupils shrank to the size of a pinhead.

[She is indeed beautiful, but…]

As if realizing something, Li San’s gaze instinctively moved behind him.

After a moment… in his horrified gaze, a White Tiger as tall as a small hill lay beside him, coldly watching him.

“It’s, you…” He exclaimed repeatedly, so frightened that he nearly fell as he kept retreating.

But just then…

With a swish, a blood-red vine shot out and wrapped around his neck, scraping his necks instantly.

“Now, can you tell me how you managed to evade my senses?”

While speaking, Thorns’ face turned a bit darker. If not for her blood-red vine showing some unusual movement, she might have overlooked this Human.

It would have been fine to overlook one Human, but something that should have never happened had happened; this Human had seen her together with White Tiger.

Although there was dense fog now, even in dense mist, the silhouette of a woman riding a White Tiger was discernible. Moreover, looking at the current expression of this Human, Thorns understood.

[He saw us.] She said in her head as the blood-red vine around his neck slowly started to get tighter.

“Don’t, don’t… I… I’ll talk, I’ll talk…” Tightly clutching the thorny vine, the intense pain made tears blur Li San’s vision. However, the desire for survival overpowered him, and he could not help but beg for mercy.

After a moment, the blood-red vine slightly loosened, and Li San let out a long, deep breath of relief.

“My Innate Talent…” After sorting out his thoughts, Li San promptly explained his Innate Talent.

“A special Innate Talent?” Thorns slightly narrowed her eyes. She had gained a deeper understanding of certain Innate Talents that were considered strange.

[Indeed, one should never underestimate Innate Talents. A mere Tier-0 Level 5 could actually utilize his Innate Talent, Penetration, and avoid our notice.]

Right as Li San spoke, his entire body melded into the earth at a speed visible to the naked eye. In an instant, a self-satisfied laughter echoed through the woods.

“Just you wait, you bitch! How dare you associate yourself with Mutant Beasts and still hunt us Humans. Just you wait. One day, I will definitely be back.” As he spoke, the person vanished completely from the ground.

“Hmph!” A soft cold snort escaped Thorns’ lips as her expression turned cold.

[Humans truly cannot be trusted. Just a moment ago, he claimed that activating his Innate Talent was difficult, and yet in the blink of an eye, he used his peculiar Innate Talent to meld into the ground and escape. But, do you take me for a fool? Do you think you can deceive me for the second time?]

“Third Brother, he is probably merged with the ground, right?” Turning back to White Tiger, Thorns sneered.

*Rooaar…* A playful roar, full of teasing, reverberated through the woods.

The next moment, White Tiger leaped dozens of meters into the air.

*Boom*

Terrifying Spiritual Energy fluctuations suddenly surged around White Tiger’s claws. Simultaneously, an immense pressure also spread around him.

However, within moments, before anyone could react, White Tiger was already on the ground.

The next moment, a thunderous clap akin to the Heavens collapsing reverberated, while the resulting shockwaves spread in all directions.

Subsequently, the ground within a hundred-meter radius of White Tiger kept cracking, giving rise to a five meters deep crater.

At this moment, White Tiger glanced coldly at a patch of blood on the ground nearby, a hint of mockery appearing in his eyes.

[Did he really think that a special Unique Talent is omnipotent? Without sufficient strength, no matter how peculiar the Innate Talent, a slap is just enough to crush it.] With this thought in mind, White Tiger moved toward Thorns once again.

This was the intent of their partnership. With Thorns’s superior intuition, even the most bizarre Innate Talent can be intercepted after the first time it escapes their notice. In other words, the fundamental goal of their team was to hunt down Humans with peculiar Innate Talents who managed to evade the three defense lines.

In essence, White Tiger and Thorns were the hidden fourth line of defense. Unless a Human’s strength surpassed Thorns’, all special Innate Talents were futile before her extraordinary intuition.

As long as Thorns wanted, she could use her deep intuition to hunt them down one by one until none remained. Judging by this, one could realize how astute Sarcosuchus’ mind was since he had arranged White Tiger and Thorns as a team.

As the possessor of Wind Elemental Talent, White Tiger’s speed was one of the best even within North Canyon, and his destructive power was self-evident. He could easily lay ruin to an area of a hundred meters in diameter with just a single claw strike. Whereas Thorns possessed unparalleled intuition, like a radar; she could search for anything unusual.

Their coordination might not be perfect, but it was enough to stop 80% of those with peculiar Innate Talents.

This was also a proof of Sarcosuchus’ comprehensive foresight.

Be that as it may, plans were just plans in the end, nothing more.

At this moment, Sarcosuchus stationed at the entrance of North Canyon was wearing a grave expression as he heard heavy footsteps coming from within the dense fog.

*Tap, tap tap…* His pupils slightly contracted as he noticed a faint silhouette emerging slowly from the mist.

“Has a Human Expert finally arrived?” Slowly lifting himself up, Sarcosuchus looked at the relaxed figure strolling leisurely and let out a deep sigh. It was really rare for him to encounter someone so powerful that he had to raise his guard.

Upon closer inspection, Sarcosuchus fully discerned this figure. It was a middle-aged Human, wearing a long blue robe, and with a long sword hung on his back. Furthermore, at a glance, one could feel a tinge of elegance and righteousness around him.

However, his silver hair was rather more striking. They did not make him appear old, but rather full of vitality.

“To think that an Atavism-type Mutant Beast that is known for being an overlord would become a gatekeeper?” Whispering softly, the silver-haired figure gazed at the gorge hidden in the mist behind Sarcosuchus, narrowing his eyes slightly.

Sarcosuchus’s appearance still had some impact on him. Even he had to treat an Atavism-type Mutant Beast with caution. And to add to his woe, there was also the crisis-ridden Misty Mountain.

Countless Mutant Beasts were lurking and observing from the depths of the forest.
