Before the brash man’s right hand could touch Thorns’ shoulder, with a squishing sound, blood flew into the air as an intense bout of pain surged through.

The brash man lowered his head in disbelief, only to see a blood-red vine piercing through his chest.

“May I ask you a question?” While asking in cold voice, Thorn’s red vines slowly lifted the brash youth off the ground.

*Squish…* With another clear and crisp squish, and the blood-red vine completely pierced through the brash young man’s chest.

“Wang Wu…”

“You bitch.”

“Damn you.”

…

Amidst shouting, the mercenaries’ expression changed drastically as one of them even lunged forward.

However, Thorns had no time to pay attention to them now. Her gaze instead shifted onto the brash man now impaled by her blood-red vine in the air.

“Let me ask you, if I weren’t a Human, how would you treat me?” An innocent smile appeared on Thorns’ face as curiosity arose within her.

“Who are you, really?” Grimacing in pain, the brash man clenched the thorny blood-red vine and questioned.

“I’m the one asking the question.” Saying this, the blood-red vines lightly twisted, drawing blood once more.

Just then, as if he had noticed something really horrifying, the brash youth’s face turned deathly pale. Much to his horror, he witnessed the blood flowing out of his chest slowly being absorbed by the blood-red vine, bit by bit.

“You, you…”

Having witnessed this horrifying scene and recalling the question the woman had asked, the brash man realized something. Deep within his eyes, a profound sense of fear and dread surfaced.

“Humanoid…Monster…” Muttering in a hoarse voice, the brash man suddenly turned around and roared, “Run, quickly escape, and inform the military! There’s a Humanoid Monster, a Humanoid Monster!”

“Humanoid Monster?” Everyone momentarily froze as realization slowly dawned upon them. Now, when they were looking at Thorns, their gazes were filled with shock and horror.

In an instant, without any hesitation, each figure dashed toward the outside.

[A Humanoid Monster!? Are you kidding me!? These creatures actually exist? How is that possible?] For them, or rather, for the entire China, the term ‘Humanoid Monster’ was not an unfamiliar concept. This was because a Humanoid Monster was a creature that evolved toward Humans.

They kept evolving, using Humans as templates. The more they resembled Humans, the stronger they would grow. However, what truly brought the concept of Humanoid Monsters into the public eye was the Incident 813.

When a monster with the body of a Human and head of Wolf suddenly appeared in an international metropolis—Shanghai.

On that day, countless people witnessed the terror of the  Humanoid Monster.

Several tall buildings were razed to the ground. Thousands of people lost their lives. Countless fully armed regiments and Superhumans had to step in to finally bring the monster down.

Even so, it took half a day to bring everything to pieces.

As for the Incident 813, the official explanation from the upper echelons was that ‘Human Form Mutant Beast,’ that is the Humanoid Monster, was born out of nowhere.

However, what no one knew was that these so-called ‘Humanoid Monsters’ were merely the product of failed gene fusion experiments conducted by the higher-ups. At the time, the subject went berserk, so much so that it created huge devastation.

Even China’s high-ranking officials could not hide the truth.

Back then, in order to appease public sentiment, China had no choice but to go with the flow and confirm the existence of ‘Humanoid Monsters.’

They even used the media to amplify the matter, repeatedly confirming the existence of Humanoid Monsters.

For instance, certain experts appeared on television through the media, claiming, ‘Humanoid Monsters are incredibly powerful.’

Terrifyingly so.

‘The more they resembled Humans, the more fearsome their strength would become.’

‘If you encounter one, run away immediately.’

Originally, the public was skeptical of these claims.

However, after being vehemently told by the members of media and government, and the fact the carcass of the monster with the head of a Wolf and the body of a Human was put on display, the public had no choice but to accept this possibility.

As a result, ‘Humanoid Monsters’ became a familiar term among the public. They were even referred to as ‘legendary beings,’ as nobody had seen them until then.

Or rather, anyone who had laid eyes on them had died.

As for the ‘Incident 813,’ Yu Zi Yu had also heard it from Qing Er.

However, back then, Yu Zi Yu had not paid much attention when he learned that the Humanoid Monsters were the product of Human’s gene fusion experiments.

After all, the entire Incident 813 was just a self-serving lie concocted by some Humans. There was no need to pay it any heed.

In the eyes of a discerning person like Yu Zi Yu, it was nothing more than a joke.

But how could Yu Zi Yu, or China’s upper echelons for that matter, have imagined that the concept of ‘Humanoid Monsters’ would deeply take root in the hearts of the citizens of China?

To the point that today, upon realizing that Thorns was a Humanoid Monster, these people did not even have the courage to fight back. Instead, they scrambled to flee one after another.

The terror of a Human-body Wolf-head monster had scared them so much that when they encountered a creature that looked almost identical to a Human, they believed that they did not stand a chance against such a creature.

Once this thought crossed their mind, all these people had one thought, and one thought only.

Run!

Run as fast they could!

Meanwhile, as Thorns glanced at the suddenly terrified crowd fleeing, a hint of confusion flickered in her eyes.

[Is that really necessary? Why did the term ‘Humanoid Monster’ terrify them so much?]

However, this did not affect Thorns’ cold heart. She had finished probing. Now, even if she displayed an innocent appearance, it would not change the fact that she was an outcast. A monster to the Humans.

“In the end, I’m an outcast, I’ll not be accepted by Humans.” A sigh escaped Thorns’ lips as she lightly snapped her fingers.

The next moment…

*Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh…”

Blood-red vines suddenly unfurled and shot toward the fleeing mercenaries, transforming into crimson snakes. In no time, mournful cries erupted in the mist one after another, as the ground was slowly dyed red in blood.

Only a blood-red figure remained standing, calmly standing on her spot.

After some unknown time…

*Swoosh…*

Thorns took a long, deep breath, seemingly savoring the scent of blood.

However, after a moment, she seemed to realize something, and a touch of bitterness appeared on her face.

“I finally understand why Lord Divine Tree has lost faith in Humanity to this extent.”

Having said so, Thorns lifted her slender foot, and started walking in the direction to North Canyon with a sense of desolation, dragging the vines dancing in the air.

At this moment, unnoticed by Thorns…

On a nearby treetop, Golden Ant stood with his four limbs crossed before his chest. He had been coldly watching everything. Only after Thorns had disappeared into the dense fog did he finally speak, “Now, you can truly be called Sixth Sister.”
