“Not here, not here…” Murmurs followed one after another, yet Yu Zi Yu was unable to find Qian Qin’s figure. Even more astonishing was that he could not even detect the owner of the crimson mist.

Just then, as if struck by a realization, Yu Zi Yu suddenly froze.

“If it’s not in the sky, then how about right before me?” Amidst Yu Zi Yu’s mutters, most of the canyon fell under Yu Zi Yu’s perception once again. Shortly after, his gaze fixed on a nearby pit entrance.

It was the entrance to the Underground Plaza, a considerably large pit.

To prevent the dissipation of Spiritual Energy, Yu Zi Yu covered the exit with Spirit Stones like tiles. In other words, this was a place where Spiritual Energy was isolated. More importantly, Yu Zi Yu sensed the final fluctuations of the crimson mist in this vicinity, along with the disappearance of Qian Qin’s Spiritual Energy.

“What a sneaky cat!”

A cold snort escaped Yu Zi Yu’s lips as he promptly went into action. For a powerful entity like him, such an event unfolding right under his nose was truly intolerable. Furthermore, Qian Qin was most likely hunted down by that creature.

At this thought, a surge of murderous intent welled up within Yu Zi Yu.

It was not that Qian Qin was important or something. Rather he found the act of someone being killed right under his nose to be unforgivable.

Determined, Yu Zi Yu mobilized his Spiritual Energy.

*Boom, boom, boom…*

Accompanied by fearsome tremors, Yu Zi Yu’s dark roots hidden deep within the ground transformed into giant black snakes, heading toward the Spirit Stone plaza with surging killing intent.

Yu Zi Yu’s roots tore through the surface of a wall of the underground plaza, entering a dreamy world of nothing but crystals.

One after another, black roots continued to emerge from the wall. In an instant, one of the Spirit Stone plaza’s walls was filled with countless roots.

Right then, Yu Zi Yu was startled to find the center of the Spirit Stone plaza occupied by a glowing red plant swaying left and right.

The plant was not that big; it was merely three meters tall, but it was adorned with countless vines.

However, that was not the focal point.

What caught Yu Zi Yu’s attention was the vanished Human girl – Qian Qin happened to be entangled in these vines.

Faintly, Yu Zi Yu noticed that some of the smaller vines happened to have penetrated Qian Qin’s body.

At this moment, Qian Qin’s face was pallid and filled with pain..

“What’s this!?” Muttering, Yu Zi Yu’s gaze focused his gaze.

Moments later, a series of information flooded into his mind.

Race: Mutated Plant

Rank: Tier-0 Level 8

Innate Talent: Seeds of Life- It can use Spiritual Energy to scatter self-propelling seeds, transforming a vast area into a forest of vines.

Abilities: Blood Mist – It can remotely manipulate mist formed from its own sap, and hunt prey. The mist possesses corrosive properties that can dissolve ordinary prey.

Vine of Thorn – Each vine is covered with thorns; any contact with them would cause intense pain.

Parasitism – It can parasitize itself on other creatures, thus gaining control over it.

“Mutated plant!?” Yu Zi Yu was a little astonished. He had not anticipated that the blood-red plant from before would turn out to be a mutated plant.

While there were many Spirit Flower and Grasses, he had not yet come across one that had mutated. Becoming a mutated plant meant awakening sentience and opening the door to evolution.

Just like him, continuously evolving as a Willow Tree.

Now, the companion blood-red plant of the Earth-Attribute Spirit Stone Mine had unexpectedly mutated right under his nose.

“Um…” At a bit of loss, Yu Zi Yu sunk into a brief silence. Encountering a mutated plant like this was beyond his expectations. As for any sense of camaraderie due to their shared kind, unfortunately, Yu Zi Yu felt none. Because he sensed a strong hostility radiating from the plant.

The blood-red vines of the plant were dancing in the air, exuding a terrifying killing intent.

“First time I encounter a mutated plant, and it’s not exactly friendly, huh?” Yu Zi Yu remarked in a cold voice, suppressing his complex emotions.

Then, a tree root resembling a black snake slowly extended into the Spirit Stone plaza, coiling around the blood-red plant, surrounding it from all sides.

*Swoosh, Swoosh, Swoosh…* In the very next moment, the blood-red plant in the center repeatedly thrust its thorny tendrils, aiming straight at Yu Zi Yu’s tree roots.

Unfortunately, all its attempts were futile. Despite being fellow mutated plants, it did not realize what kind of existence it had encountered.

*Bam, bam, bam…* As the thorny vines struck the black roots, sharp and crisp claps resounded as sparks flew everywhere, yet those blood-red spears failed to breach Yu Zi Yu’s defenses.

At this moment, Yu Zi Yu had no intention of playing games with the blood-red plant.

With just a thought…

*Boom!* Yu Zi Yu’s black tree roots kicked up a gust of wind as they drew close to the blood-red plant. The next moment, the roots transformed into swords and swished through the air, cutting swathes of vines in half.

At the same time, Qian Qin fell on the ground.

However, Yu Zi Yu did not have the focus to pay her any mind. Instead, his roots wrapped tightly around the blood-red plant, exerting immense force.

As a thunderous boom reverberated in the underground plaza, Yu Zi Yu suddenly seemed to hear an inexplicable wail.

Right then, a sharp gleam flickered in the depths of Yu Zi Yu’s eyes.

“What’s this!?” With a touch of astonishment, Yu Zi Yu sensed a peculiar energy flowing into his tree roots. Even more astonishingly, he noticed a sense of longing emanating from every inch of his body.

Yes, longing. It was like an instinct, very difficult to resist.

Without hesitation, Yu Zi Yu tightened his roots once again.

The next moment, within his amazed gaze, strands of blood-red energy flowed along the vines, continuously entering his tree roots.

Simultaneously, the aura of the blood-red plant began to wither.

Until a certain moment, an inexplicable cry of sorrow rang as if the blood-red plant’s aura plummuted significantly, as if its level had decreased.

Faintly, it seemed to have lost something incredibly precious.

Observing this scene, a realization dawned upon Yu Zi Yu, and he immediately focused his attention on his status screen.

As he had expected, a new ability had appeared in his status screen, and it happened to be the most precious Innate Talent.

Innate Talent: Seeds of Life (Incomplete)- A terrifying Innate Talent plundered from the mutated blood-red plant. You can now use your Spiritual Energy as the source of life to nurture seeds, which’ll quickly grow into trees at such astonishing speed that a small forest can be created within moments.
