Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1489: Chapter 1490: Father and Daughter at Each Other’s Throats

Seeing that she couldn’t get any useful information from Jiang Conghe, Chiang Qing lost her patience, stood up, and prepared to leave. She was naive; if he were truly as shrewd as he claimed, how could he end up in such a predicament?

Perhaps he was indeed shrewd but overly arrogant, taking the so-called father-son relationship for granted, believing that Jiang Dafang genuinely wanted to acknowledge him as his father, thus trusting wholeheartedly. Yet he didn’t realize reality would slap him hard in the face.

Jiang Conghe saw her about to leave and quickly called her: ”Where are you going?”

Chiang Qing looked over, giving him a gaze as if he were a foolish idiot: ”Of course I’m leaving. Do you really think I’m going to stay here and keep you company in prison?”

”Then when will you get Dad out?” Jiang Conghe looked at her with hope.

He had truly had enough of prison life. The people inside were inhumane, bullying him.

Chiang Qing burst into laughter and said, ”Dad, my dear Dad, are you truly naive or just pretending? This is the sentence handed to you by the state. Do you think I have the power to get you out? Even if I could, would I really get you out?”

Jiang Conghe’s face fell, ”What do you mean by this? I’m your father!”

”My father?” Chiang Qing sneered and said: ”The moment you sent me to the asylum, my father was dead. You’re unworthy!”

”You...” Jiang Conghe became furious and said: ”Do you think I wanted it this way? If it weren’t for your infatuation with that scoundrel Qi Taiguo, repeatedly making jokes, why would I have resorted to such a desperate measure? Our family’s situation today is all because of you, because you insisted on that bastard Qi Taiguo!”

Indeed, because of Chiang Qing, loving a man she shouldn’t love, he ended up in such a situation. Otherwise, his political career would have continued smoothly, without the recurring jokes and problems, leading to this disaster.

Just because of Chiang Qing’s obsession, the family was always in chaos, allowing others to exploit the situation. If it were peaceful like before, by now he might have become the Chief.

This ungrateful daughter still doesn’t come to her senses, yet claims he is unworthy?

It infuriated him!

Chiang Qing now hated when people used her love as a subject. Hearing Jiang Conghe’s words, her expression grew colder, ”Because of me? Then why didn’t you think about it when you climbed up the social ladder and abandoned your wife and child to marry into a prestigious family, did you ever consider today? Had you not married my mom, you wouldn’t have conceived me, and today wouldn’t have happened!”

”You, Chiang Qing, you...”

Chiang Qing looked at him indifferently and said: ”Also, when you sent me to the asylum back then, did you think about today? Jiang Conghe, my dear Dad, do you know what kind of hellhole a mental hospital is? Do you understand what I endured inside? And what I’m still enduring now?”

As she spoke, thinking about her situation, her body began to tremble along with her words, ”I am not like a human, nor a ghost, and all because of whom?”

Jiang Conghe was stunned.

This angry person in front of him, was she still his daughter? Why were they biting each other, father and daughter, how did it end up this way?

”What I’ve suffered, you all will suffer back. I’ve lost my freedom, and none of you should fare well. Jiang Conghe, you ought to taste the feeling of losing freedom, the feeling of life worse than death! I will never get you out. You’d better die here, ha, haha!” Chiang Qing laughed sharply as she left.

Jiang Conghe plopped down on the chair, listening to the laughter gradually fading away, feeling waves of chill growing in his heart and on his back.
