Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1453: Chapter 1454: It’s Wonderful to See You Happy

Cheng Yaozu announced the good news with great enthusiasm, exclaiming, ”I’ve captured Xiao Ya!” making Cheng Su laugh helplessly.

Ying Xiaoya, blushing, playfully punched Cheng Yaozu and said, ”Can’t you speak properly? You’re never serious.”

Cheng Yaozu feigned grievance and said, ”But I’m telling the truth!”

”Say it again!” Ying Xiaoya stomped her foot.

”Alright, alright, I won’t say it.”

Only then did Ying Xiaoya hum proudly.

Seeing that the two of them had settled down, Cheng Su laughed and said, ”Oh boy, is the flower spear finally put away?”

Ying Xiaoya’s face turned red again, while Cheng Yaozu chuckled foolishly.

”Seriously, when’s the wedding?” Cheng Su asked, ”Just so you know, I’m due in July, and if you have it then, I won’t be able to attend, but there will still be presents!”

Ying Xiaoya replied, ”Not so soon.”

Cheng Yaozu nodded and said, ”In Guangcheng, they don’t hold banquets in July. As for the wedding date, the old man said it would certainly be after you give birth, and there’s a lot to prepare. The wedding house, wedding photos, everything needs to be ready. I’m thinking it’ll probably be in the latter half of the year! As for the exact time, we need to consider the wishes of the in-laws.”

”Hey, I haven’t even married you yet, and you’re already calling them in-laws?” Ying Xiaoya punched him.

Cheng Yaozu had to sweet-talk her.

Cheng Su looked at Cheng Yaozu and said, ”Such a precious girl is marrying you, and she’s marrying far away, so you better cherish her. Don’t skimp on the necessary formalities.”

”Don’t worry, even if I wanted to skimp, the family wouldn’t allow it!” Cheng Yaozu laughed heartily.

Cheng Su was relieved, thinking that with the Cheng family being so large and established, the youngest of this generation’s marriage would definitely be celebrated in a grand manner.

Cheng Yaozu said he wanted a smoke and went outside, giving the two women space to chat in private.

Ying Xiaoya’s heart was as sweet as honey, but she gently reminded him not to smoke too much.

After he left, she turned and saw Cheng Su’s teasing gaze.

”Why are you staring at me like that!” Ying Xiaoya playfully exclaimed, reaching out to touch Cheng Su’s big belly, and asked, ”Is the baby being good? Oh, it’s moving...”

Cheng Su smiled, just as the baby woke up, perhaps sensing something, starting to punch and kick.

”If you like it so much, get married and have one soon.”

”I would like to. He said we should spend a year or two enjoying our life as a couple first, no rush!” Ying Xiaoya said bashfully.

Seeing the shyness on her face, Cheng Su said, ”Looks like moving to Guangcheng was the right choice for you. Now that you have a settled future, I’m relieved!”

Ying Xiaoya’s cheeks blushed red.

”I used to worry that you were so single-minded and confused, but seeing you now, it seems I worried too much. Xiao Ya, seeing you so happy and content makes me truly glad!” Cheng Su said sincerely.

Ying Xiaoya grabbed her hand and said, ”Meeting you was my luck and happiness. If it weren’t for you constantly encouraging me, back when the whole thing with Zhang Yujun happened, I’m afraid I wouldn’t have survived! I truly owe you my thanks!”

”Silly girl, aren’t you afraid of bringing up the past now?”

Ying Xiaoya shook her head and said, ”No, I’m not afraid. I’m not scared of talking about Xiao Pinshan either. You’re right, being with someone interesting is very important. Yaozu treats me very well, and being with him fills me with endless things to talk about and endless laughter. Living a lifetime like this with him seems pretty good, so I agreed to his proposal.” As she spoke, she shook her hand, showing her ring.

Cheng Su glanced at it and then looked away, saying, ”There are many roads still to walk in life, and happiness needs to be well-managed. Keep it up!”

Ying Xiaoya nodded, her eyes reddening.
