Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1462: Chapter 1363: Compromise at Last

Another day passed, and Aunt called again. She still wanted Mother Qi to help Weiqiu find a partner. Now that Weixia had come back, she wasn’t talking about following Weiqiu and marrying him off.

Mother Qi listened to this and knew that the elder sister had given in, so she tentatively asked, ”Did you agree with Weixia?”

Aunt said, ”I told him to be responsible for Weiqiu’s dowry without any hesitation. He agreed, only then would I let it go.”

Mother Qi breathed a sigh of relief, ”I’m glad you’ve come to terms with it.”

Aunt was silent for a while, then suddenly started to cry, ”What else can I do if I can’t come to terms with it? Who else can I rely on? Just wait and see. When I die, I’ll surely go to hell. What face do I have to meet their father and the Deng family’s ancestors?”

Mother Qi suddenly felt a chill down her spine.

Aunt cried for a while and then said, ”I have no choice, Avici Hell, whether I want to or not, it’s like Heaven is punishing me!”

Mother Qi didn’t know what to say, so she said, ”Elder sister, we’re at this age already. Just take it easy, don’t think too much. Live your life as it should be, things... will get better eventually!”

”Who knows!”

The two sisters were momentarily speechless, Baobao was crying outside, and Mother Qi had to quickly hang up and go out to take care of it.

As for the Deng family, Deng Weixia, after getting Aunt’s consent, felt a face full of joy and relief, the gloom on his entire face cleared away, ready to go back to Qing City to tell Liu Wenjing the good news.

Aunt, seeing his happy expression, felt a sharp pain in her chest, but when she saw her equally happy daughter, she had to swallow that dull pain whole.

She had no choice. In order not to burden her daughter, for her own old age care, she could only compromise.

Aunt turned away, took out a yellowed handkerchief to wipe the corners of her eyes, and gazed distantly at the distant mountains, her eyes full of emptiness.

Deng Weixia wanted to start work early, so he returned to Qing City early. As for Aunt and the others, they would wait until everything was settled before bringing them over. Besides, they couldn’t live back in the old home for long anymore, so they would need to sell and deal with some things, then move the entire family.

Seeing Deng Weixia relieved all of Liu Wenjing’s anxiety and uneasiness these days, and when she learned that his mother agreed to their situation, she excitedly asked repeatedly, ”Really? They really don’t blame us anymore?”

Deng Weixia hesitated slightly, then smiled and said, ”No blame anymore, we’ll go get our marriage certificate when we have time, and also get Jin Sheng registered!”

However, Cheng Su saw it clearly; it might not be that there’s no blame, but just a helpless compromise.

She picked up her teacup, took a sip of water, and wasn’t surprised by this outcome.

As long as Aunt wasn’t foolish, she would know that compromise was the only option.

Liu Wenjing couldn’t contain her joy and said, ”So, when are they coming, mom and them?”

”Right. Does she still plan to live in the old home?” Cheng Su also asked.

Deng Weixia said, ”We need to slowly deal with the things at home. We’ve discussed it, I’ll come back to work to earn money first, and once everything’s settled there, we’ll move the entire family to Qing City.”

Cheng Su frowned at this and said, ”The place you’re renting isn’t that big, is it?”

Deng Weixia blushed and said, ”We’ll have to squeeze in for now. Weiqiu also needs to get married.”

This meant that once his sister got married, the family of five would just about fit, and for now, they could only squeeze in.

Cheng Su said, ”In that case, wouldn’t it be better to wait until Weiqiu gets married before moving?”

Liu Wenjing also thought this was better, but looking at Deng Weixia and seeing the difficult expression on his face, she said nothing. She was able to get his mother’s consent, so how could she dare to say anything more?
