Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1484: Chapter 1485: Giving an Exclusive Interview

The draft of the special interview was revised repeatedly until it was finally settled, with the interview location set at the Joy Soon Loy Company. This not only fit the theme but also made it convenient for the interview team to capture footage of the factory and more.

Since becoming pregnant, Cheng Su didn’t bother with makeup anymore. Her always fair face had become more rounded and even whiter, though a few spots appeared under her eyelids.

To look good on camera, she lightly covered them with powder, applied some blush, and put on lipstick, and then spoke with the reporters.

The interview content was prepared long ago, and it was just a matter of following along with the questions and answers. Although this was her first interview here, in her past life, Cheng Su was no stranger to such scenes, handling them with ease and even showing signs of guiding the reporters.

Therefore, the interview process was not the least bit tense or awkward, but rather, it was as if she was having a pleasant conversation with friends, very relaxed and smooth.

”President Cheng, you’re about to become a mother, right? I’m wondering if once you become a mother, will you temporarily set aside your career?” the reporter asked with a smile, noticing Cheng Su’s big belly.

”Balancing family and career is actually quite difficult. I’m fortunate that our company’s team is now very mature, so during my maternity leave, they will handle things well. If you ask me what I would choose if there were a conflict between the two, I think it would be family. My child is my priority, and I hope to be involved in his growth. Of course, I won’t abandon my career, it’s just a matter of where the focus lies...” Cheng Su spoke eloquently.

When asked if her husband supports her career, Cheng Su’s face lit up even more, and she said with a smile, ”Without my husband’s support, there would be no Joy Soon Loy today. To be honest, I’m not a great wife, as I’m often busy managing the company and he often eats in the cafeteria. So, his support is crucial to me, and I’m very grateful.”

The reporter offered some compliments.

Right after, there was a photo shoot. The weather outside was sunny, with dappled light falling on Cheng Su’s face as she stood under a tree, her hands gently touching her belly, a happy smile on her lips.

Two days after the interview, the report was published. The featured photo was the one of Cheng Su under the tree, with the headline: ”Women Can Also Support Half the Sky, Balancing Love and Career: A Note on the Female Director of Joy Soon Loy Food Industrial Co., Ltd.” The interview content mainly discussed the development trajectory and dynamics of Joy Soon Loy and its future prospects, and also talked about Cheng Su’s journey in founding the company, including the hardships and difficulties she encountered, and of course, her family was mentioned as well.

The prominent report took up half a page, naturally praising the benefits brought by the reform and opening up, encouraging people to start businesses, particularly women, to step out beyond domestic chores and be the spiritual backbone of the family, and more.

The benefits brought by this interview were evident as Joy Soon Loy’s sales hotline was bombarded with calls, with many calling for partnership opportunities, and others wanting to visit for inspection. Cheng Su didn’t worry about these, leaving them to Xiao Pinshan and Ning Ge while she focused on preparing for childbirth.

Although this interview was a report by Qing City’s local newspaper, Cheng Su’s success as a young housewife who hadn’t graduated from college was inspirational and thus reprinted by other media outlets to encourage people at the time to strive for wealth and success.

And this report reached a small Western-style building in Yanjing, where someone saw Cheng Su’s radiant and happy smile, and their eyes turned red with envy.
