Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1473: Chapter 1474: Wants to Be Discharged

Cheng Su and Ning Ge found the ward where Mother Qi was located and heard cries of pain from the doorway. It was a voice Cheng Su was most familiar with—Mother Qi.

”Pain, so painful, ow ow.”

Cheng Su, with her belly protruding, walked in, to see Mother Qi lying on the bed, yelling, while Qi Fenglian was softly trying to console her.

Deng Weixia stood to one side, at a loss, and was surprised when he saw Cheng Su, saying, ”Cousin-in-law is here.”

Mother Qi’s voice stopped abruptly, looking over.

Qi Fenglian also approached, holding her hand, her brows slightly furrowed, and reproached, ”Why are you here? Weren’t you supposed to stay home?”

Mother Qi glanced at Cheng Su’s round belly and momentarily forgot the pain, saying, ”Exactly, it’s so far away, what if something happens?” After all, in her belly was her precious grandson.

”I couldn’t stop worrying, came to check on things.” Cheng Su smiled and said, ”Ning Ge accompanied me here, it’s alright.”

Qi Fenglian looked at Ning Ge behind her, holding a bag of fruits and nutritional supplements, and said gratefully, ”Fourth Young Master Ning, you’re very thoughtful!”

”How is Auntie?” Ning Ge smiled faintly, looking towards the person on the bed.

Mother Qi withdrew her gaze and said, ”This old leg won’t make it, it hurts too much.” As she said this, tears started flowing again.

Cheng Su went over and comforted her: ”Mom, it’s okay, as long as you’re alive, everything else can be treated.” She then asked, ”Is there anywhere else uncomfortable, like another area? Mom, don’t hold back, let us know so the doctors can examine you thoroughly.”

Internal bleeding can be a big trouble; once it bursts, it’s uncertain whether rescue is possible.

”Everything hurts, all over! It’s going to kill me!” Mother Qi screamed.

Cheng Su pressed her lips together, looking at her foot, which was held in splints, wrapped in bandages, and suspended with a rope. It seemed healing would take a long time, probably a year or more.

”Let’s go find the doctor and understand the situation better.” Cheng Su said.

Ning Ge quickly accompanied her as they walked out.

As Cheng Su expected, Mother Qi’s leg had a shattered bone, and at her age, it would take longer to heal than for a young person. Otherwise, why say it takes a hundred days for bones and tendons to heal? Especially for elderly people!

As for other internal injuries, fortunately, they weren’t too serious.

”Doctor, could you check once more, do a full body examination?” Cheng Su requested.

Mother Qi’s attending physician replied, ”We can, but the costs...”

”Money isn’t a problem!” Cheng Su quickly said.

The doctor nodded and said, ”I’ll arrange it, go ahead with the payments!”

Cheng Su let out a breath and asked about the timeline for discharge with this situation.

”It depends on the recovery speed—the foot needs time to heal. Other injuries can recover, but the leg can continue recuperating at home slowly.” The doctor replied, ”There should be regular check-ups; for the elderly, bone growth is troublesome.”

Cheng Su acknowledged her understanding.

She asked several questions continuously, thoroughly understanding Mother Qi’s entire health situation, then stopped.

Back in the ward, Mother Qi was talking with Qi Fenglian about something.

Qi Fenglian looked helpless and said to Cheng Su, ”Mom wants to be discharged!”

Cheng Su froze, frowned, and said, ”How can there be a discharge so soon?” Pondering, she thought her mother-in-law might be worried about money and said, ”Mom, I’ve asked the doctor, your body still needs rest and observation. It won’t happen soon. Don’t worry about the hospital fees; We will prepare this and Taiguo too—just rest assured and recuperate! The doctor will also conduct a full-body check-up soon.”

Mother Qi looked terrified and said, ”What, stay a few more days? This hospital, it’s not clean!”
