Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 651: I will not retreat Again... Part-10.

Before starting the battle, he showed respect to make Lia believe that he was going to fight a close-range battle, and then he used his words to say that he had seen through Lia’s ability and that he was going to use tricks.

The purpose was to make Lia and Kai think that Rahn was going to use the same feinting tactics as those sand arrows like before and even that mud was part of the strategy to make Lia think that the attack was his way of tricking her.

But in reality, everything was just a lie!

His real move was actually brewing far above in the sky, and all he needed was for Lia to focus completely on him and ignore anything else!

This way her prediction ability got stuck on one target, which was him, and to prevent Kai from detecting the attack, he even used his pseudo-legendary skill to hide the attack’s presence!

If Kai had enough mana supply from Lia, he might have been able to still sense the attack beforehand, but in the current situation, it was impossible.

In simple words, Rahn had completely deceived Lia and caused her to fall into a pre-planned trap without her even noticing it!

*BOOOM!!!!*

The massive sword made up of dense water elementals fell from the sky like a meteor and crashed straight onto Rahn, causing a massive explosion to happen.

The sand turned into crystals from the sheer pressure and temperature created by such a massive object crashing into the ground with immense speed!

The ground cracked open, and a powerful earthquake spread in all directions, causing the wall of spirit magic protecting the temple of nature to completely shatter and break apart!

Massive amounts of debris flew in all directions as a gigantic crater was created.

Some of the debris flew so far that it even smashed the outer walls of the Temple of Nature in various places.

After suffering from so many wide-area attacks, both human and demon armies were already completely wiped out, and even if someone was still alive, they got killed in this attack!

The earthquake created was so powerful that the ground split in many places, and new valleys were created on the spot in just a matter of seconds!

By the time the dust and debris finally settled down, immense destruction had already ravaged the entire landscape, changing the geography of the entire area once again!

”Hufff... haa... huff... cough!... cough!!... huff...”

In the middle of the massive crater, Lia lay flat on the ground, exhausted, broken, and bleeding continuously.

Her entire left side of the face was completely burnt and bleeding; her right arm was broken and bent into an abstract artwork, and both of her legs had their bones crushed into powder.

There were hundreds of small and big cuts on her body, and blood was flowing out from them without stopping.

With her face covered in blood and with only one eye left, Lia stared at the sky with an unfocused gaze.

She could feel the taste of blood in her mouth, and choking on her own blood caused her to cough over and over.

[Lia... please summon a weaker form of me; I-I will at least be able to bring out a healing potion...]

[P-please Lia... you have a bright future ahead; don’t let it all go to waste... please... I beg you Lia, please don’t die...]

Kai’s anxious tone resounded in her mind, but she was too exhausted to even move a finger, let alone do anything.

*Step!* *Step!*

Ominous footsteps rang out and a familiar sound once again entered Lia’s ears.

”You actually survived!?... I have to acknowledge it; you are the most tenacious being I have ever seen in my life Lia Silver. You are a true warrior.”

With her unfocused gaze, Lia looked at the demon and figured out that Rahn had survived that attack despite being the main target of it.

As if noticing Lia’s gaze, Rahn glanced at his body that had massive holes and wounds all over it and spoke,

”Don’t worry, I suffered fatal damage too; my internal organs have all been destroyed and I will also die off soon...”

”It’s just that the attack that hit me was my own so I am faring much better than you... but yeah, I am not too far from death’s door myself...”

Looking at Lia, whose vitality was slowly fading away, Rahn shook his head as he raised his sword.

”It’s a pity that a fearless warrior like you had to end up like this...”

”You shouldn’t have gotten involved with the fairies in the first place; you wouldn’t have ended up like this if you had retreated on time...”

”A pity...”

Hearing Rahn’s words, Lia remained silent for a while but then spoke,

”I.. cough! Couldn’t have... huff... retreated... after all, I promised myself... to not hesitate and... Huff... not retreat ever again... from my decision...”

[Even now you say that... you... sigh...]

Kai had no words to speak anymore; Lia had remained determined until the end, and since he couldn’t go against her orders, he was helpless.

Hearing Lia’s words, Rahn shook his head and spoke,

”No matter the ambition, after death, it all becomes useless... sigh... let me end your suffering and send you to afterlife with less pain...”

Even though Rahn was about to end her life, Lia wasn’t paying attention to it anymore.

As if she could see her life flashing past her eyes, the memory of a promise that she made to herself appeared in her mind.

As if time itself had slowed down, Rahn’s sword slash became slower and slower; at some point, it was almost as if Rahn wasn’t moving anymore.

Perhaps it was just a bizarre vision she was having at her deathbed, but Lia didn’t bother paying much attention to it.

Her entire mind and whatever energy she had left were all focused on just one thought in that moment.

It was the thought, the memory of a promise that she made to herself.

{I will not retreat again...}

That memory, that promise had resurfaced in her mind once again after Rahn triggered it by saying the word ’retreat’ in front of her.

It was as if the S-rank dungeon itself had brought Lia to this exact point in ’Time and Fate’ to test her will and force her to make a decision.
