Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 654: The Battle for Kenorland Ends.

Rio let out a deep sigh of relief as he looked at the massive tornado of mana swirling around Lia in the distance.

”I was almost late...”

While muttering those words to himself, Rio tossed the cube of flesh made from Rahn’s body into a container that he made from earth elementals using his telekinesis and then blasted the container off into the distant sea far away from this location.

The Rahn in this dungeon was just a memory.

Rio didn’t know what time period it was, and he didn’t even know who Rahn was, but just by reading Rahn’s memories, he managed to figure out everything.

The powers of high-rank dungeons were nothing to scoff at; they could easily recreate a past memory so accurately that it was almost impossible to distinguish them from reality.

Thus, even though Rahn here was just a memory, he still had a proper soul and body that could be tortured and put through misery.

But Rio knew that torturing this Rahn and wasting time on being angry at him was pointless, so he just vented his anger at Rahn for a bit and then threw him to a random place while sealing him with sword intent so that no one would be able to rescue him.

This way, Rahn’s disfigured body will stay at the bottom of the sea and suffer continuously until this dungeon ceases to exist.

’Even if someone managed to rescue him, unless they have ’Soul Resonance’ like Alverto, they will not be able to undo the modifications I have done to his soul...’

The domain of souls was very difficult to deal with; even the strongest people of the world dared not mess with their own or others’ souls like Rio did.

And unless someone has more mastery than Rio in the soul domain, they will not be able to undo Rio’s modifications at all.

In other words, the moment Rahn fell in Rio’s hands, his fate was already sealed from the start; after all there was no one more proficient in the domain of souls than Rio in the entire universe at the moment.

”Just came back home from such a dangerous mission only to find a random weirdo bullying my wife...”

Looking in the direction where Rahn was blasted off to, Rio sneered,

”Do you think I am dead or what!?”

Rio had only just recently returned home from the spirit realm mission, and the flying ship had just docked in a port of the human empire just a few minutes ago.

Originally his plan was to go to the awakener’s association headquarters, find Ashtel and Raji, submit the report of the entire mission, and then go to the silver mansion to find Lia.

It had already been around ten months since Lia left for her training, and Rio was under the impression that she must be back by now.

But to his shock, the moment Rio was about to step on the port, he felt a ’signal’ from his sword’s intent.

The locket that Rio gave to Lia was not just a simple birthday gift; it was a peak S-rank offensive artifact capable of killing multiple S-rankers in a matter of a millisecond with a single attack!

The sword intent stored in that artifact was imbued with Rio’s own thoughts and soul fluctuations; it was precisely designed in such a way that it would do its best to protect Lia in desperate situations.

It could defend not only against physical, mental, and soul-type attacks, but it was also capable of adapting to emotional changes and could act according to them too.

But that was not all of its capabilities.

As it was imbued with Rio’s own ’Soul Fluctuations’ and a massive amount of sword intent, the very moment this artifact came into effect, it would immediately send a predetermined signal back to Rio.

Before even going to the spirit realm, Rio already had some mastery over the field of souls and space-time.

Using them, Rio made the artifact connected to his own soul fluctuation frequency.

As long as that artifact activates, Rio will immediately notice it, and thus he will be able to figure out that Lia is stuck in such a desperate situation that his sword intent had to save her.

With that knowledge, Rio could immediately rush to Lia’s side as soon as possible to help her, and he did exactly that.

The moment he got the signal, he rushed to the hidden dungeon’s location and entered it, completely ignoring Link and Riya, who were standing at the port to welcome him.

”Thankfully I reacted fast enough, or perhaps things would have ended completely differently...”

Lia had earned her ascension with her hard work, so perhaps the mana tornado would have ended up blowing Rahn away, thus protecting her from his sword.

Perhaps Rahn could have managed to injure Lia further and interrupt her ascension by landing a devastating strike on a defenseless Lia at a very critical time.

Anything could have happened; the outcome was uncertain in that situation.

Thankfully, Rio managed to arrive just on time to stop Rahn’s final move and prevented him from interrupting Lia’s ascension.

It had been nearly a year since Rio saw her, and although she was unconscious, Lia’s face was just as lovely as ever in Rio’s eyes.

As Rio watched Lia ascend with a slight smile on his usually emotionless face, Lia’s aura elevated to the next level, and she finally broke the ’Gene Limiter,’ becoming a full-fledged S-ranker!

The massive amount of mana swirling around Lia finally receded after an entire hour, and Lia’s body slowly floated down on the ground.

Seeing this, Rio didn’t wait any longer and caught her in his arms.

Carrying her in a princess carry, Rio slowly flew down and landed on the ground with Lia in his arms.

Looking at Lia’s peacefully sleeping face, Rio could not help but feel the urge to hug her tightly and protect her from all dangers of this treacherous world.

”You really know how to make me worried don’t you... sigh, I almost had a heart attack after I saw you in that situation...”

”Thankfully, you are okay now... but don’t scare me like that again. I may look like I don’t have much emotions... but even I would feel sad if you leave...”

With the Anomaly intervening in the final moment, the battle for the city of flowers, Kenorland, finally came to an end.
