Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 696: You were nothing but a failure.

Inside the sea of consciousness.

”I told you... I would win this. No matter how many times you try to assert your own strength, I was always going to win...”

”After all, you are playing it alone... I have an entire team of friends behind me...”

Liam smiled with a smug look on his face as he moved the ’queen’ chess piece forward on the board and placed it in a position where the opponent’s king was directly checkmated.

Seeing this, the person sitting on the opposite chair slammed his hand on the table in anger as he lashed out at Liam!

”You are the greatest f*cking mistake of my life!!”

”If only you were better, I wouldn’t have lost to that f*cker Ashtel!!!”

The person confronting Liam in a game of chess was none other than his own father, Neo Aldif, or more accurately, a remnant will of his that was still lingering in Liam’s sea of consciousness until now.

”Once I genuinely used to believe that you cared about me... but after what you have done, I have no more respect for you...”

”So don’t expect your rude words to hurt me... they are nothing to me anymore... In fact, you are nothing to me anymore...”

Hearing Liam’s words, Neo gritted his teeth in anger as he retorted back even more harshly!

”I f*cking raise you! It was me who created you; without me, you would have been nothing, you little sh*t!!”

”You should have been happy to be able to become my f*cking tool!! You were supposed to be just a tool for my ambitions!!”

At those rude words, Liam just yawned loudly as he stretched his body and ignored the frustrated look on Neo’s face.

”As a father, you were a failure; as a husband you were a failure; as a friend you were a failure; as a protector you were a failure and even when scheming and conspiring against someone... you were still a failure...”

”You have no right to belittle me when you yourself were nothing more than failure yourself... I feel ashamed even calling you my father... no, in fact, I won’t even call you my father after this...”

”You would just be a long-gone past, a bad past that I won’t even bother remembering about; you would be nothing to anyone... after all, you amounted to nothing but failure even till the end...”

Hearing Liam’s words, Neo’s face became red from anger, and he stood up and tried to punch Liam in sheer rage, but to his dismay, his body couldn’t move and froze on the spot.

Seeing this, Liam shook his head in disappointment as he got up from his seat and looked straight into Neo’s rage-filled eyes before speaking.

”Don’t forget Neo Aldif, this is my sea of consciousness... your own soul and mind have long been destroyed by someone you hated the most your entire life...”

”This weak, pathetic lingering self of yours is nothing special anymore... inside this place, you are at my mercy Neo Aldif, so it would be better if you don’t anger me more than you have already have...”

Liam sealed off Neo’s mouth and didn’t even let him speak anymore.

He walked in the opposite direction that Neo was facing as he spoke in a calm voice.

”Neo Aldif, I will always feel regret that I couldn’t be the one that managed to kill you and torture you for what you have made me go through...”

”I will always regret that I couldn’t make you suffer just like you made others... but I will always be happy that I will never be a tool for you...”

Liam looked at the distant horizon where the sun was starting to rise on this darkness-shrouded realm of consciousness.

That rising sun was a sign that his friends had succeeded and he would be able to rise back to life once again just like that rising sun.

”Because of you, I suffered and after disappeared, Ellie must have suffered too... I will never forgive you for what you have done...”

”It’s a pity that torturing this pathetic self of yours is pointless, as it’s just a mere remnant will; otherwise, I would have patiently made you understand all the pain I had endured...”

Liam calmed down his anger as he looked at the receding darkness, and a smile appeared on his face.

”Although... I didn’t manage to deal with you myself, I am happy that at least you got what you deserved...”

”The person you abhor the most, that Ashtel Rex, he’s millions of times better than you; he’s a good father, a good person, a good protector and a good husband...”

”He’s far far above you... the only regret I will have is that I didn’t get to have a father as good as that man and I got someone like you to be my kin...”

As the darkness receded from Liam’s sea of consciousness, Neo’s remnant will also started to break apart into pieces and disappear into nothingness.

”Rest in agony, Neo Aldif. I, the child you said was a mere tool of yours would go on to live a much better and much happier life than yours...”

”Living a fulfilling life would be my greatest revenge against you...”

Liam did not even let Neo talk until the end and watched him disappear completely into nothingness with a happy smile on his face.

The long night that had shrouded Liam’s soul finally came to an end as a new sun rose through the sky!

With the combined efforts of the entire team, Astra, two SS-rankers, and many combined factors, Neo Aldif’s decade-long plan was finally completely defeated as Liam finally won the chess match against Neo’s will!
