Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 676: Princess of a Dying Nation. Part-1.

The fairy race was a very diverse race with all kinds of elementals, fairies, and all kinds of different powers living together peacefully.

But the single fairy race that stood out among them all was the ’Royal Fairies’ that ruled the entire ’Fairyland’!

Unlike other fairies, the Royal Fairies were almost as big as humans in terms of actual body size.

This was the main reason why Lyria and Miria mistook Lia for a real royal fairy, because at that moment Lia had fairy wings behind her back and she was almost the same size as a royal fairy!

It was easy to mistake her for a royal fairy in that kind of situation; this was the main reason why even the human armies and quite a lot of demons also confused her for a royal fairy when Lia fought from the fairy’s side.

”So that’s what a true royal fairy looks like...”

Hearing Lia’s words, Rio shook his head.

”No no... look, it’s highly corrupted and even two of its wings have turned black from miasmic influence; it’s not clearly in its true form right now...”

”But yeah, you can say that royal fairies look like that...”

Lia had never researched fairies before, as they never appeared in dungeons as monsters, and if something wasn’t a monster, Lia was not interested in learning about their physiology.

Rio was also not an expert, but he knew about what a royal fairy looked like, as he had studied about it in history books.

”As far as I know, royal fairies are completely different from normal fairies; unlike those peace-loving tiny fellows, these big ones are capable of proper combat...”

”There is a reason why royal fairies rule ’Fairyland’; it’s because they are considered the strongest beings of their race!”

”In terms of raw talent, each royal fairy is almost equal to an adult dragon! The moment they are born, they are already S-rankers!”

Rio narrowed his eyes as he looked at the fairy sitting on the massive wasteland covered in hundreds of thousands of demons and human bodies as he said,

”From the soul fluctuations of this one... it seems she’s a peak S-ranker... she’s likely stronger than that fellow Rahn you fought earlier...”

”But it seems that miasmic corruption has affected her severely and has made her more powerful but unstable at the same time... it would be better to stay cautious when fighting her...”

For Rio, the other party wasn’t as big of a threat, as Rio was already at the peak of rank S and only just one step away from reaching rank SS.

Even if the other party had some kind of hidden trump card, it was pretty much useless in front of Rio.

But this was not Rio’s battle; it was a challenge and trail that only Lia had the right to take. Rio couldn’t interfere with it unless truly necessary.

”Thanks for the information. I will be back after I win; watch me perform!”

With a happy smile on her face, Lia thanked Rio for his information and then flew towards the ground without hesitation.

As Lia landed in front of the corrupted fairy, the other party also slowly opened her beautiful silver eyes.

One of her eyes was decaying because of miasmic rot, but the only intact eye was enough to charm anyone looking at it with its silver shine.

”Thou art a human, it seemeth. Not corrupted by rot in this disgraced land? Thou art blessed by great Luck...”

The royal fairy’s voice was feminine but also authoritative; it was clear that the other party was someone who had held a high position for her entire life.

Her tone carried the pride of royalty, and her unwavering tone carried the determination of a powerful warrior.

”Art thou here to challenge mine rule too? Or art thou accepting mine invitation for duel?”

Hearing the other party’s question, Lia put her hand on the hilt of her sword hanging around her waist as she declared proudly,

”I am Lia Silver; I am here at your invitation to challenge you for a duel.”

Hearing Lia’s reply, a look of relief appeared on the corrupted fairy’s face.

”I see; I thank thee for accepting mine invitation. I have waited for a long while for mine salvation...”

At those words, Lia understood why the other party was sitting here and inviting others to fight her by releasing her aura everywhere.

It was because in her current situation, this fairy was only half a fairy and the other half was a demon because of corruption.

She could likely sense that the temple of nature was being attacked nearby, but the reason why she didn’t go there to rescue the fairies was because she was afraid that the miasma and corruption inside her would bring more harm to the fairies than help.

She sensed that someone managed to help the temple of nature and fairies survive.

Thus, she invited the person who saved the fairies here to a duel so that she could also find her own salvation from this miasmic decay through a proper battle to death.

As a warrior, she refused to die by miasmic rot; she wanted to die in battle, and inviting powerful warriors like Lia and Rio here was her way of finding a better end for herself.

”I am Ivy Constantine, one of the last few surviving Royal Fairies and a sworn protector of fairyland...”

”I thank thee for coming here to bring salvation to mine ruined self... but as a warrior, I would prefer to die in battle...”

”Thus I accept thine challenge, Lia Silver.... Come, put an end to this wretched life of mine with thine strength!”

As she spoke these words in a solemn voice, Ivy slowly stood up from the ground as she held the half-broken spear in her hand that was originally lying on the ground beside her.

The moment Ivy took her combat stance, it was as if air itself had solidified and a powerful pressure spread in all directions.

Seeing this, Lia felt a tinge of excitement, and she brought out her sword as she spoke.

”Here I come!”
