Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 669: Atleast some ’Hope’ must exist... Part-2.

”Although I don’t know if this power will even prove to be useful in the future, I only know of this one single method to save the world...”

”That’s why I am asking you to inherit this method from me... Whether you use it or not will depend on you Lia...”

”I just want to give the already dying world a chance to have a little bit of ’hope’ left... without ’hope’... the universe will cease to exist!”

Bela’s tear-filled eyes conveyed the emotions she had been hiding for thousands of years.

She was just a defeated woman; all of her friends and close ones were long dead, and the greatest dream of her life was completely destroyed.

All she had now was this one piece of knowledge that could perhaps be useful to someone in the future.

Although she was defeated and broken, she was still the goddess of protection and cure, Astra!

As a final act of defiance against the sea of miasma that had mocked her very existence, she wanted to pass on the torch of her goal to the next generation.

”Even if the world might really be helpless against the Sea of Miasma... this knowledge of mine can still act as a final beacon of hope...”

”At least some ’hope’ must exist till the very end so that the world won’t die off without ever dreaming of a better tomorrow...”

”In my defeated form... this is all I can do for the world that once I vowed to protect...”

Bela no... Astra stretched her hand towards Lia and asked,

”Will you accept this knowledge, Lia? You might in fact be the final person to ever awaken the ability ’Ascended soul’ now...”

”After all, by the next person to achieve something like this appears, it would be too late... the world would already be completely controlled by the sea of miasma...”

Hearing Astra’s words, Lia felt conflicted in her mind.

She had never expected that after reaching rank S she would end up getting involved in a game of fate set up by powerful beings like King Allen and Astra.

To her, the Sea of Miasma was just a distant legend of the past and something that she had no need to concern herself about in the current day and age.

Many researchers and scientists already warned the world about the existence of the sea of miasma and its ever-expanding form.

But the universe was massive; the sea of miasma has been expanding since the era of mana descent, and it’s been more than two millennia, and yet it’s only managed to cover only 1/10th of the entire universe.

By the time it reaches their home planet, it will have been thousands of years in the future!

Lia didn’t even know if she would even be alive to see that day far far in the future!

If not for Bela telling her the truth about how powerful the sea of miasma is, Lia wouldn’t have even cared about it.

”Despite how they depict you as a gentle and kind person in the legends, you are actually a very crafty and cunning women, Astra...”

”You set up a massive play of destiny to get me involved in this trouble that I had no business with... and now you already told me about the conditions to create the sword of promised destinies...”

”And now you are asking me whether I accept it or not? You have already told me about the method to create it... what’s the point of asking me to accept it or not when you have already made the decision yourself?!”

Lia could only sigh and feel helpless about this entire situation.

If possible, she really didn’t want to get involved with this entire matter at all.

After all, Lia was not a hero; she had no need to sacrifice herself for the world at all.

If the world is about to get destroyed, she can just take Rio and go somewhere far away from this planet.

By the time the entire universe was taken over by miasma, thousands of years would have passed, and she and Rio would have already lived long enough of a happy life by then.

Astra loved and protected the world with her entire being, but Lia had no obligations to that, as she was in no way and form shackled to this planet.

Now that she was an S-ranker, she could travel almost anywhere in the space and live almost in any kind of environment as long as it wasn’t too hostile.

”Sigh... well... it’s not like I can unhear something that I have already heard about... I guess I will keep this knowledge as a trump card...”

”Even if I had it, I can’t actually create that so-called destiny-changing sword without fulfilling all conditions anyways...”

”Just getting the favour of both heaven and the ’world’ would already be impossible for me so don’t raise your hopes high...”

”I couldn’t even comprehend what you said in condition four... I just heard that I needed seven fragments... is this some kind of forbidden knowledge that you can’t understand before reaching a certain level of strength?”

Lia felt that there was definitely something fishy about this, but she couldn’t put her finger on it.

Bela nodded her head at Lia’s words as she held Lia’s outstretched hand with both her arms.

”Thank you Lia... although I do not know if this knowledge will ever be of use, I am happy to give my knowledge to the children of the future generations...”

”Thank you for hearing me out until now Lia... No wonder you managed to acquire the ’ascended soul’... you are a kind person at heart...”

At Bela’s flattering words, Lia felt a bit embarrassed.

”I am not kind... Ugh, just hurry up and be done with it!”

The palms holding Lia’s hand glowed brightly as a small smile of relief appeared on Astra’s face.

”Thank you... I hope you good luck, Lia Silver... I hope for a brighter future for you and everyone you love...”

[Ding! You have inherited the entire life experience of the Goddess of Healing and Cure, ’Astra’!]

[Ding! As the memories are too vast to digest in one go, most of it will be stored in your soul for now, and it can be slowly digested over time!]
