Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 678: Princess of a Dying Nation. Part-3.

[Blue Rose Spear Art: Illusive Shadow: Petal Fall!]

The changes made in the strings of destiny do not last longer than a few seconds at most and revert back to their original form soon after.

Thus, Ivy also recovered her technique not long after being hit.

Although half of her face was destroyed, as a fairy, she was an elemental being, and unlike humans or other creatures, she had no such things as internal organs at all, so she had no reason to worry about them being damaged.

She could fight until her body was completely destroyed and her soul was separated from this body and sent into the afterlife!

”Thou art capable of manipulating minds? Thou made me forget my technique; it was impressive!”

Ivy was incapable of sensing what Lia had really done to her; she mistook it for some kind of mind manipulation-related ability instead.

Ivy jumped in the air and smashed down with a powerful and insanely fast spear thrust.

To compensate for the fact that Lia was able to make her forget her attacks, Ivy immediately changed her combat strategy.

’Petal Fall’ was an attack that used gravitational momentum and falling from above at high speed with flying abilities boosting the speed as an attack, so even if Lia made her forget this attack, her body would still keep falling, and her attack wouldn’t stop!

But of course, Lia wasn’t too surprised that Ivy changed her combat strategy; any experienced combatant would have done the same after being taken by surprise for the first time.

[Destiny Manipulation: String of World Coordinate: Location Change!]

Before Ivy could even react, her coordinates in the sky were changed; it was as if she had never even aimed towards Lia’s location but was always going to fall somewhere else!

She literally changed her location with the change in the strings of destiny!

*BOOOM!!*

Ivy’s attack landed on empty ground, and Lia obviously wasn’t going to let this advantage go; she took her stance and thrust her sword forward!

[Silver Lion Swordsmanship: Lion King’s Judgement: Thrust of Obliteration!]

To Lia’s surprise, Ivy didn’t even try dodging anymore; she let Lia’s sword hit her straight in the chest, and instead of defending, she attacked back while completely ignoring her wound.

[Blue Rose Spear Art: Dew of Night: Broken Petal!]

As Lia’s sword blew a hole in her chest, Ivy moved her arm and did an upward spear thrust, aiming straight at Lia’s neck!

*Bam!*

Lis saw the attack coming beforehand and immediately stomped the ground to dodge to the side as she took her sword back and made some distance.

To Lia’s surprise, the massive wound still didn’t kill Ivy, and instead of dying, her wound started healing at a rapid pace!

[Master Grade Healing Magic: Full Body Self-Heal: Maximum Output!]

Fairies are inherently adept at using healing magic, and with her being a peak S-rank royal fairy, Ivy’s healing magic was already insanely strong!

The massive hole in her chest filled up almost instantly, and her wound healed so fast that it seemed like she was never even injured in the first place.

”Hoh? Your healing magic is quite extraordinary... I have seen someone use such overpowered full-body heal only once before... and even that was done with the help of a legendary skill...”

”You are definitely not an ordinary royal fairy at all... state your true identity warrior of the fairy race...”

At Lia’s words, Ivy took her spear stance once again as she replied in a calm voice,

”It’s not worth mentioning but... if thou art curious, I don’t mind telling thee...”

”I am Ivy Constantine, the princess of this dying nation... the only daughter of the dead Fairy King!”

Fairies do not have direct children, as they don’t produce offspring like humans and other creatures.

Fairies don’t even have reproductive organs, but there are cases where a very powerful fairy can break a part of their own body to create a new life with the help of the fountain of elemental life.

The process is complicated and very taxing to the one doing it; thus, not many follow it.

But Ivy was one such fairy born through this rare procedure; she was born from the fountain of elemental life using the fairy king’s dead body as raw material for her birth.

In a sense, she was the only princess of the fairy kingdom and the next person in line to inherit the title of ’Fairy King’!

”No wonder your healing magic is so powerful...”

’It’s almost at such a high level that it’s about to reach 1/10 of Riya’s healing magic purity!”

Riya is someone who has more than 90 percent mastery over her healing-related legendary skill; her healing ability is already almost on par with peak SS-rank healers!

If someone can achieve even 1/10th of her healing mastery, that is already an insane feat!

”My name and lineage are nothing special anymore... I couldn’t even protect my nation from external threats...”

”I even got corrupted with this miasmic filth... I just want to be free of this burden...”

Miasma had made a mockery out of her existence; it wasn’t killing her completely but also wasn’t letting her help her people.

It was making sure that she would remain alive till the very last moment and would be forced to watch her people die helplessly.

Despite having strength, she’s forced to not help; despite being capable, she’s forced to watch her people suffer.

This is the cruel mockery miasmic corruption has imposed upon her, and by now she’s so broken with guilt and regret that she just wants to disappear from this world.

Looking at those trembling strings of destiny of hers, Lia sighed.

’Another innocent person, another ’Tainted Fate’... all because of miasma... sigh... the ’Sea of Endless Miasma’ is a very hateful existence...’

Astra’s life was turned into a joke, King Allen’s fate was unknown, and Ivy was forced to watch her people get slaughtered in front of her.

The count of victims suffering from the cruelty of miasmic corruption was more than trillions!

It was simply impossible to count how many innocent lives were destroyed by the abominable sea of miasma.

That existence’s sole purpose for existing was nothing but tainting fates and destroying people’s normal destinies.

It was the most hateful power out there in all of existence.

The only person that Lia knew wasn’t affected by miasma was only Rio; everyone else was suffering horribly just by touching it slightly.
