Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 679: Princess of Celestial Prophecies! Part-1.

”I understand... I apologize for taking you lightly...”

Lia pointed her sword at Ivy and spoke with a calm look on her face as her eyes got serious.

”It would be disrespectful to your courage and determination if I keep dragging things out and don’t go all out...”

”As an apology, I offer you one of the greatest attacks I have at the moment...”

Hearing Lia’s words, a smile of excitement that only a fellow battle junkie could understand appeared on Ivy’s face.

”Hehe, now that’s what we are talking about... Show me what you have, Lia Silver!”

[Descent Of The Golden Light: Blessing of Pure Unrestrained Healing Magic!]

Using a powerful healing artifact called ’The Golden Light,’ Ivy enhanced her already overpowered healing magic and amplified it by 10 times, making it almost reach the same capabilities as Riya’s ’base’ level healing magic!

Although it was a temporary boost, just being able to reach the same base level as Riya’s healing magic was already insane!

Vitality powerful enough to make one impervious to almost all physical attacks ran through Ivy’s entire body at such horrific output that it almost seemed like her body would burst apart from within due to too much vitality!

Even the miasmic corruption weakening her body became suppressed for a moment as Ivy put her everything in that move!

[Master Grade Magic: Wind Type: Blessing Of The Wind God!]

Ivy was already an overwhelming speedster who was already fast enough to give anyone a nightmare; her speed was already as fast as Rio’s when he was at peak A rank.

But by using her wind elemental affinity to its maximum power, she cast a master-grade spell that gave an even higher-level speed and mobility boost!

Usually people are only able to become either magicians or warriors, but as one of the strongest beings of the entire fairy race, Ivy was fully capable of using her fairy bloodline to its full advantage.

With the help of the unique trait of fairies being fully elemental beings and having no mana flow restrictions like other creatures, she trained not just in spear art but also in magic too.

In short, her magic boost was not weaker than a regular peak S-rank mage’s magic boost by any means!

[Blue Rose Spear Art: Spear of Unbreakable Faith: Death Gamble!]

One after another, Ivy buffed herself with many power boosts; not only did she enhance her already overwhelming healing capability to a higher realm, but she even enhanced her speed and agility tremendously.

And finally, she used the forbidden skill of her spear art, ’Death Gamble,’ where she put all elemental force and power of her very being into one attack!

After Lia easily dodged her previous attacks without even lifting a finger, Ivy understood that Lia was likely capable of doing something that was outside of her perception.

Letting Lia play freely and following her rules would only put the attacker at a disadvantage; thus, Ivy had to adapt to Lia’s mysterious ability.

Her strategy was simple... buff yourself with so much healing that you don’t need to dodge Lia’s attack.

And then use the powerful healing buff to press Lia when she’s done with her attack and finish her in one single strike that is powerful enough to end it all at once!

Of course Lia could already intuitively ’predict’ what Ivy was planning and what she was trying to achieve, but Lia didn’t care about tricks anymore.

After almost dying and achieving the capability to interfere with the strings of destiny, Lia was now far stronger than just base stats and petty tricks.

Looking at Ivy rushing towards her with her spear in hand, Lia just smiled as the memory of a moment that shaped her entire combat style came to her mind.

...

Silver Mansion, Before Lia’s Mother Died.

After a year of practicing the basics of swordsmanship, Lia started learning the ’Silver Lion Swordsmanship’ from James.

”Huff... I can’t cut it! It’s too tough! That practice doll is not even budging!”

Lia collapsed on the floor from exhaustion as she looked at the practice dummy with a look of annoyance!

”Err... but... how can that be?... When my dad taught me this swordsmanship, I was able to cut things easily at your age...”

”Is it because you are a girl and naturally weaker than boys?”

James stood beside the collapsed Lia, and a look of genuine confusion flashed on his face.

As a brute who was born with superior raw strength to most people, James simply found it impossible to understand why his daughter couldn’t cut down a fragile and weak practice dummy.

Although he was an S-ranker, he had never trained or taught anyone anything in his entire life, and due to that, he was not a good teacher for Lia either!

After thinking for a long time, James decided to give up on teaching Lia about swing-related techniques and taught her to focus more on thrusts instead.

The rapier-type swords that were suitable for thrust attacks turned out to be extremely compatible with Lia, and thus she decided to listen to James’s advice and switched to focusing more on that kind of combat style.

Although it was a choice made out of the bad teaching qualities of her mentor, Lia didn’t mind it.

The family sword ’Ambient Silver’ was also a slender sword that was suited for thrust attacks more than swing attacks, and thus Lia liked researching monster physiology, so she kept focusing on this aspect more and more.

Although being a master at this one kind of combat style brought Lia many improvements, it also made it easy for her to understand the shortcomings of her combat style.

She was overly dependent on targeting opponents’ weaknesses, and relying too much on it made her feel restricted when the opponents had no weaknesses to exploit or she didn’t know the opponents’ weaknesses.

’I used to worry about it so much that I tried to remember characteristics of even extinct monster species... haha...’

’But now... I have realized that I was missing a crucial understanding in this aspect all along...’

Looking at the strings of destiny attached to Ivy’s body, Lia’s expression turned serious as she took her stance.

’I understand it now...’
