Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 650: I will not retreat Again... Part-9.

”Don’t take me for an idiot! I noticed that subordinate of mine bypass your prediction ability before...”

”He did it by muddling his own existence with miasmic corruption, but I don’t have to mimic that idiot’s method...”

”I have already seen through your so-called ’Prediction’... that ability, it only predicts things that you want to predict, right?”

A grin on Rahn’s face widened as he spoke those words.

”It automatically starts to focus on things that you believe would be a threat to you, and thus other things get completely or partially ignored!”

”Every skill and talent has a limit, and I know this better than anyone else!”

Rahn had spent his entire life pushing the limits of his skill; he had faced insults from many who considered his pseudo-legendary skill a ’defective’ ability.

The word ’defective’ had become a mental trauma for him, and the moment anyone said it to him, he got extremely angry, just like when he was fighting Kai and got angry due to Kai’s insults.

Although others insulted him, it only just worked as fuel for his growth and pushed a low-rank demon like him to the current peak S-rank!

Compared to the ordinary S-rank demons, he was definitely many times stronger with the help of his pseudo-legendary skill!

With his already vast understanding of pseudo-legendary skills due to personal experience, Rahn easily figured out that Lia was also using something similar too.

Moreover, the biggest breakthrough was achieved when that spear demon managed to bypass Lia’s ability and injure her.

Rahn had seen that scene too, and following the lead of his deceased subordinate, he was easily able to figure out the working mechanisms of Lia’s prediction ability.

Just like any other pseudo-legendary skill, Lia’s skill also had a fatal ’restriction’ or ’limit’ that could be easily exploited if known beforehand.

And that ’limit’ was that Lia was still just an A-ranker!

She was too weak to fully control a power as strong as that, and at one particular moment, she could only focus on one target or one specific area.

Rahn fired those sand arrows that were completely harmless, but he used the power of his pseudo-legendary skill to enhance them; this made Lia think that these arrows were an actual threat to her.

And as a result, her foresight ability locked on to the arrows, causing her to focus on one target.

Then Rahn used massive speed to attack so that before Lia’s passive premonition could trigger, he would be able to attack her!

In simple words, it was all a game of timing and deceit!

”You are quite smart for a demon... and believe me, I hate smart demons the most!”

[Divine Spirit’s Blessing: Enhanced Physique!]

Although Lia now had plenty of mana after drinking that high-grade mana recovery potion, her mana output had fallen to a very low level.

Due to summoning Kai and having him use two powerful attacks, Lia had already placed too much burden on her soul, mind, and body.

All of her body was so injured and exhausted that she couldn’t even properly digest the mana recovery potion, let alone use the mana in an orderly manner to do coordinated attacks.

Thus, she had no other choice left but to cast a weaker spirit blessing that enhanced her physique and temporarily suppressed bleeding.

[Silver Lion Swordsmanship: Thousand Nails of Obliteration!]

Although Lia was injured and weakened, she was still capable of putting up a good fight.

She couldn’t use her spirit magic at the moment, but that spirit magic was not everything she had; aside from being a divine spirit user, Lia was also a deadly sword master!

In a matter of a single second, Lia launched a thousand thrust attacks at Rahn, and each of those thrust attacks was strong enough to cause a powerful sonic boom in the air!

*BOOM!!* *BOOM!!!* *BOOOM!!!*

Rahn already knew that he was incapable of competing with Lia head-on right now in his injured state, and with her prediction ability, dodging was completely pointless, as she would easily predict where he was going to dodge and how he was going to do it.

Thus, he had no other choice but to use the environment to his advantage!

[Acqua Manipulatio!]

[Sea Monster Sword Art: Lobster Style: Dwelling of Mud!]

Just as Lia stepped forward to attack Rahn, he turned the entire area around them into mud with his water manipulation ability and sunk his lower torso in mud, causing most of Lia’s attack to fall on empty air!

Even if Lia managed to predict that Rahn was about to turn the area into mud, the area was so wide that it was difficult to dodge it, and now that she was already using a powerful sword skill, she couldn’t just stop midway either.

She tried to redirect a lot of her sword thrusts to the ground to attack Rahn who had sunk more than half of his body in mud, but he immediately used mud to try to hold onto Lia’s feet, causing Lia to step back and stop attacking.

The moment Lia stepped back, Rahn smirked.

”Checkmate!”

[Acqua Manipulatio!]

[Sea Monster Sword Art: Kingfisher Type: Cloud Burst Dive!]

Bells of danger rang in Lia’s head, but it was too late; a massive sword made up of pure condensed water elemental fell straight from the sky!

[That f*cker! He targeted himself to avoid getting noticed by your prediction skill!!!]

Even Kai was shocked, as even he didn’t sense the attack coming!

The most basic methods of tracking an attack are mana sense, killing intent sensing, intuition, and then there’s Lia’s prediction.

Aside from the mana sense, all of these basic detection abilities work on the principle of how much threat something can cause to the user.

That water sword attack was aimed straight at Rahn himself, and it was located so far in the sky that Lia’s weakened mana sense couldn’t sense it at all!

Rahn had seen that Lia was having difficulty dealing with the mage and the archer before, so he figured out that Lia’s ability also had a range ’limit’ too; he took complete advantage of that.

And since that sword attack was actually aimed at Rahn and had no killing intent towards Lia, her premonition got deceived even further!
