Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 40: Chapter 40 The Future of the Heart of Woods, The Figure in the Night (Three Updates)

DING DONG...

The doorbell rang.

Su Ping frowned. Since someone had arrived without prior notice, he could only drag his exhausted body to open the door.

Two familiar figures arrived as dusk settled.

It was none other than the Zhang Family Brothers, the twins he’d met during the day.

”It’s you guys, please come in!”

Although still very tired, Su Ping mustered his energy and led the visiting guests into the living room.

”I don’t have much to offer for drinks. Please make do with this.”

Su Ping got two bottles of Coke.

He did have some tea and a drink-making machine, but he truly lacked the energy to properly host them at the moment.

Clearly, the brothers hadn’t come for such trivial matters. After a quick ’thank you’ from the older brother, Zhang Wen, he promptly asked,

”Um...”

”Just call me Su Ping.”

Zhang Wen then blurted out,

”Su Ping, what specific services do you offer for Forest Wolf training? You do have a business license and all that, right?”

Although Jin Cheng, who seemed quite knowledgeable, had given Su Ping extremely high praise during the day, the brothers still needed to see for themselves before they could be certain.

After all, Pet Beast Cultivation is no small matter.

Besides the huge expense, what’s most important is that it could affect their future!

So, the caution displayed by the Zhang Family Brothers was understandable.

Su Ping simply smiled,

”Don’t worry. If your Pet Beast dies due to my Cultivation methods, you won’t need to sue me. I’ll turn myself in.”

With that, Su Ping’s expression turned a bit more serious,

”However, the Cultivation I offer here is different from other places. The skill I cultivate is the Wood Element’s rare skill, ’Heart of Woods.’ You should understand the value and significance of the Heart of Woods.

”Therefore, the cost for successfully cultivating this skill in one Pet Beast is 4,000,000. If it’s not successful, the materials fee is 1,000,000. Aside from that, I also offer skill level enhancement Cultivation, but I don’t have time to take on that service at the moment.

”In a while, if you come back, I’ll also offer Cultivation for the Forest Wolf’s Accelerated Casting, but I haven’t decided on the specific pricing yet. If you’re the first to try it out then, I’ll give you a discount.”

Su Ping said this as if he were offering them a great bargain.

That’s right, Su Ping raised his prices!

Having experienced the recent events, Su Ping had gained a deeper understanding of his own abilities!

Just consider the Heart of Woods skill! Sun Chaoju dared to openly ask for 3,000,000 for Accelerated Casting, non-refundable whether successful or not. Compared to him, I’m much more conscientious.

For the service this ability warranted, the price was actually a bit low.

If it really succeeds, its value is beyond monetary measure.

This is the value of knowledge in the Beastmaster Society!

Besides, things are different now than they were a few days ago!

The current Su Ping is a genuine Intermediate Level Breeder officially registered with the Breeder Association!

With this price, who knows how it might change in the future.

However, it was clear that the Zhang Family Brothers standing before him were not fools with deep pockets like Qin Xiaoxue. Even though it was apparent that their family wasn’t short of money, they certainly weren’t the sort to casually throw away millions.

The two exchanged a troubled look. After a moment of contemplation, the elder brother, Zhang Wen, spoke up,

”Su Ping, can’t you give us a little discount?”

The recently graduated young man was clearly not skilled at haggling; his cheeks even flushed a bit after he spoke.

But Su Ping shook his head,

”Sorry, but I also bear risks.”

Seeing Su Ping’s firm stance, the brothers said,

”How about this, can we discuss it with our family and give you an answer in a few days?”

Su Ping smiled,

”Of course. I wouldn’t dream of forcing a sale.”

Relieved, the brothers left.

Meanwhile, Su Ping sank into thought. It wasn’t about the discount. In fact, even if the two of them paid outright, Su Ping wouldn’t be able to cultivate the Heart of Woods for their Forest Wolf yet.

The resources and materials he had purchased were still in transit and would take some time to arrive.

Su Ping was deep in contemplation. He had never thought of just being satisfied with the status quo. Becoming a Breeder was naturally a goal, but not primarily for making money. After all, no matter how amazing a Breeder or how respected a Breeding Master, they couldn’t compare to a true high-level Beast Tamer.

Only mastering extraordinary taming powers was Su Ping’s true pursuit and dream.

His Cultivation ability was a means to indirectly enhance his own strength.

The appearance of the Zhang Family Brothers was neither the first nor would it be the last. It was foreseeable that as his abilities and reputation grew, there would be an endless stream of customers. He didn’t want to lose the time he had to train his own Pet Beasts.

So, should he find some assistants in the future or, like other Pet Beast Breeding Bases, set up a complete assembly line?

Blinking, Su Ping decided it would be necessary in the future.

It wasn’t just about the money. At a Pet Beast Breeding Base, he would have the chance to interact with many Pet Beasts at any time. This could help the Myriad Spirit Beast Atlas level up faster, thereby accelerating his own strength improvement.

As for money, it would be earned regardless.

His Cultivation skills were certainly much stronger than those of the deceiving Breeders on the market, right?

Shaking his head, Su Ping dragged his tired body and called the Forest Wolves back to him.

Their Self-Healing training couldn’t stop.

However, the Forest Wolves that had fought during the day were allowed to rest properly. Only those few that hadn’t participated would join today’s training.

After arranging all this, Su Ping resumed pondering the issues he had been considering.

However, after only a short while, Su Ping, who hadn’t rested well to begin with, succumbed to his exhaustion and slowly drifted into a deep sleep.

In front of the woods, some of the Forest Wolves rested, while others spontaneously joined the training.

Thus, the rest of the vast Heart of Woods Pet Beast Breeding Base was deserted.

And at that moment, just behind the Heart of Woods’ forest, at the boundary adjoining Yuntian Resort and the banks of the Lingxi River, a faint ripple slowly materialized in the darkness of the night.

This was a unique spatial fluctuation.

Then, from within this subtle ripple, a tiny figure appeared seemingly out of nowhere. It tilted its head, looking around with some confusion.

However, it quickly concealed its form and vanished once more.

Not long after, Old Sha, who had been watching the Forest Wolves train in front of the woods, seemed to stiffen. He looked towards the Lingxi River, sniffed the air, and a puzzled expression crossed his face.
