Beast Taming: the More the Better

Chapter 17 - 17: The Top Match Forest Wolf! Linzhou Has Such a Breeder?

Su Pingʼs father, his familyʼs unreliable old man, had once told him: ”Women will only hinder your future in Controlling Beasts. But rich women are different; theyʼll buy you a better Pet Beast.”

Su Ping acknowledged the truth in his fatherʼs words.

As for Qin Xiaoxue before him, Su Ping believed in his judgment. Her background was likely anything but ordinary.

However, after seeing the Forest Wolf she called ʼWoodhead,ʼ Su Ping knew he regretted it.

He regretted having refused Qin Xiaoxueʼs offer to name a condition, just to show off.

Forest Wolves differed from one another.

For instance, the one following them.

This was an adult Forest Wolf as tall as Su Pingʼs chest—a giant.

Uncommonly majestic, its eyes were filled with disdain and arrogance for everything around it.

The Eye of Truth gave Su Ping the most direct understanding.

[Forest Wolf (Contracted - Others)]

[Current Level: Elite Tenth Stage]

[Racial Potential: Elite Tenth Stage]

[Skills: Sunlight Absorption (Proficient), Vine Strangling (Proficient), Self-Healing (Beginner), Accelerated Growth (Proficient), Armor of Wood (Proficient), Wood Spike (Proficient), Forest Concealment Technique (Beginner)]

Not only had this Forest Wolf mastered all its Racial Skills, but it also possessed three additional ones.

Especially the Forest Concealment Technique. While its rarity didnʼt match Heart of Woods, it wasnʼt far off.

What kind of luxury, top-tier Forest Wolf is this?

The cost of raising such a beast could probably buy several Commander Level Pet Beast cubs.

Thatʼs just too wasteful!

However, Su Ping also understood something. This Miss Qin before him was by no means fixated on just the Forest Wolf; rather, she had already prepared which Evolutionary path the Forest Wolf would take.

Su Ping shook his head, showed Qin Xiaoxue around his breeding facility, and explained the final details, ”The Cultivation will take about five days. During this time, as the Pet Beastʼs owner, you may only see it once a day. If youʼre worried, you can stay next door. If you sense through the Soul Contract that Woodhead is in any danger, you can come over immediately.”

Listening to Su Pingʼs detailed arrangements, Qin Xiaoxue nodded. She always believed in trusting those she employed and not using those she distrusted.

After signing the contract and settling all arrangements, she instructed ʼWoodheadʼ to behave and then left directly.

Seeing the mechanical sports car summoned and then vanishing in a flash, Su Ping felt a tinge of envy.

But looking at the proud ʼWoodheadʼ beside him, Su Ping revealed a hint of a smile.

For him, simply administering a Magic Potion to the Pet Beast would be considered completing the Cultivation.

However, now that he finally had a test subject, Su Ping naturally wanted to experiment. For example, could he incorporate a Forest Wolf contracted by someone else into his own Forest Wolf Catalog?

Although it didnʼt mean much; after all, raising Experience Points would mainly depend on nurturing it in the future.

But there was no harm in trying.

Seeing Su Pingʼs beaming smile, Woodhead lifted its proud head and glanced with disdain at this weak human Beast Tamer trusted by its owner.

As Su Ping extended his hand, it instinctively tried to evade. However, without it noticing, a majestic wolf exuding Wolf King Majesty suddenly appeared beside Su Ping. Woodhead shuddered and didnʼt dare to dodge again.

”Good boy! Behave!” Su Ping said.

「...」

Qin Xiaoxue, who had left, obviously didnʼt know that her Pet Beast had become someoneʼs test subject.

Now, that extremely mobile mechanical sports car, even slightly levitating due to magnetic suspension, had left the suburbs of Linzhou City and arrived at the city center.

It stopped in front of a central building.

This building was located in the best area of Linzhou, yet no one dared to poke their nose into its affairs.

This was because, atop the building, a golden Divine Dragon coiled and hovered.

To one side were five large characters:

Beast Master Association!

Next to these large characters was a line of smaller print:

Jianghai Province Branch.

Having put the sports car back into her Beast Taming Space, Qin Xiaoxueʼs face turned ice cold. She rode the elevator to the top floor, arrived in front of an office, and kicked the door open.

BANG!

Behind the large desk in the spacious office sat a very well-maintained old man. He was startled by the dull thud of the door being kicked open, so much that the tea in his cup spilled out.

Looking at the spilled tea leaves, the old man winced. His gaze, filled with unrestrained icy killing intent, fixed on the newcomer. However, it softened in an instant, and he coughed a few times, ”Xiao Xue, why are you back? Didnʼt you go to Shuhua City?”

Qin Xiaoxue sneered and sat down on the sofa opposite him, crossed her legs, and said nothing, just watching the old man.

Faced with his granddaughterʼs murderous gaze, the old manʼs eyelids began to flutter rapidly.

Finally, as the old man grew restless, Qin Xiaoxue spoke, ”Qin Erlong, youʼre quite something now, helping outsiders scam your own granddaughter?!”

The old man blinked. Seeing Qin Xiaoxue suddenly stand up and fiercely slap her hand against his desk, spilling more tea from the cup, he quickly said before he had time to fret, ”What happened?”

”Tell me! What benefits did that damn Wolf Den Breeding Facility give you? They took three million from me, not only failed to teach Woodhead ʼAccelerated Casting,ʼ but also made my Woodhead have diarrhea for three days! Qin Erlong, if you donʼt give me an explanation today, Iʼll go back to the Magic Capital and have the old madam see justice done!”

Seeing his granddaughterʼs fury, and as if he thought of something even more terrifying, the old man quickly said, his voice filled with righteous indignation, ”What? That Old Liu! How is he managing his duties as Vice President of the Breeder Association, recommending such unreliable people? Xiao Xue, you wait! Watch your grandfather get justice for you! Iʼll have that damn Wolf Den Breeding Facility shut down!”

With that, the old man immediately reached for the phone, clearly about to make a call.

But Qin Xiaoxue snatched it directly from him, saying, ”You old coot, do you take me for some spoiled brat who bullies people? We signed a contract before the Cultivation. Your granddaughter isnʼt someone who canʼt afford to lose or welch on a deal.

”Whatʼs the point of calling them now? If word gets back to the Magic Capital, do you want me to become a laughingstock?”

The old man wore a bitter expression and said helplessly, ”Then what do we do now? The Evolution path for the ʼCrown Wolf Emperorʼ you want to cultivate requires the Forest Wolf to master eight Skills just to begin. Now...”

Qin Xiaoxue hummed proudly, ”On my way back, I found another breeding facility. They claim they can help my Woodhead cultivate ʼHeart of Woods.ʼ Donʼt worry about that for now. You introduced the last one, so you should at least offer some compensation for my emotional distress, right?”

The old manʼs eyelids began to twitch wildly. Sure enough, Qin Xiaoxue immediately noticed the fragrance of the tea in his cup.

Just the scent was enough to clear her head and soothe her heart.

”Tsk, tea from the Spiritual Ancient Tea Tree!”

The old man chuckled awkwardly and hastily tried to put away the nearby jade box. However, facing his granddaughterʼs icy stare, he reluctantly offered it.

”Hmph, thatʼs more like it. Iʼll let it go this time.”

After his granddaughter left, satisfied with her shakedown, the old man breathed a sigh of relief. Then, his brows furrowed slightly once more.

What did my dear granddaughter just say?

She found a breeding facility that could help a Forest Wolf comprehend Heart of Woods?

Isnʼt that utter nonsense?

After giving it some thought, the old man still picked up the phone.

Is there really such a breeding facility and Breeder in Linzhou? Why havenʼt I heard of it before?

My granddaughter, so hot-tempered yet actually a bit straightforward and simple... she hasnʼt been tricked, has she?
